If you're looking for an allergist...Dr. Malde is your woman…read more She pricked me dozens of times, made my arms look like I had chicken pox, and told me I can't have soy sauce with my sushi anymore (GASP), but I'm still giving Dr. Malde 5 stars! So my gastro (another great doc by the name of Dr Ollinger) just informed me that I have eosinophilic esophagitis. Yeah- try saying that 3 times fast!! Apparently it's a rare condition in the esophagus (I'm always blessed with the rare ones) where I actually have allergies in my esophagus and sometimes tend to stop breathing when I'm eating And if you've read my other reviews y'all know that I LOVE to eat! Dr. Ollinger suggested I make an appointment with an allergist, specifically Dr. Malde, ASAP. ASAP in doctor world typically means 6 months so I expected to wait a while, but after phoning Dr Malde's office they said they could see me within a few days. Already a fan! And I liked Dr Malde even more the minute I met her. She doesn't seem to keep her patients waiting long (or at least I didn't wait long) and spent hours chatting with me and testing me so that we could get to the root of the problem. I'm always annoyed when my doctors are rushing me out the door, but this definitely isn't the case with Dr. Malde. But she also moves at a good speed (she may even talk faster than me- if that's even possible) so she had me out of there as soon as possible. I have to be honest that I didn't love the outcome of the tests allergy tests. Apparently I need to be locked up in a clean bare room for the rest of my life (seriously, I'm allergic to trees!), but Dr Malde understands that a girl's gotta live so she prescribed necessary medications to help me with my allergies. She also made a list of foods to stay away from. Good-bye corn, beef, soy, almonds, and shellfish- it was nice knowing ya! Having eosinophilic esophagitis (I think I've finally learned how to spell it!) is no fun, but at least there are Dr's out there like Dr Malde willing to help! Highly recommend for anyone looking for an allergist!

The nurse reads your visit summary and discharge instructions to you, even though they're all printed out for you. I guess they assume you can't read. Dr. Is more concerned with typing and filling out their form than listening to you. They thought my reduced spirometry results were not due to asthma but due to my weight. Gaslighting obese patients. I went elsewhere and am under excellent care.

If I ever presented myself with latter, he's kept it to himself. Dr. Pohlman is very thorough, explains everything clearly, involves me in care decisions and is always a great listener, answering as many intelligent and stupid questions as I have. He's never seemed rushed, despite the need for internal medicine docs to keep adding patients to their busy days to make ends meet. (And despite the fact that he's affiliated with "Rush" University Medical Center.) His Loop office is very convenient to me. I once had to have surgery as an inpatient at Rush, and he even stopped by my room in the hospital to check-in on me, despite having no need to. Now THAT'S a caring doc.

I started seeing Dr. Khan in the beginning of February 2019. I was given her name on a list of…read morereferrals as I have been seeking a "Second Opinion" for my current bad fibromyalgia condition. As much as I like my current rheumatologist (Northwestern affiliate), I also have not seen many changes in how I was feeling in over 2 years, and was told I could seek out some other opinions outside of the Northwestern system. I thus far have found Dr. Khan to be very caring, thorough, in-depth, and willing to listen. Her staff and nurses/aids seemed very nice, and both of my visits Dr. Khan was very punctual (Yes, we've all had those doctor visits where we are left waiting in the little room for almost an hour..this was NOT the issue for my visits). We went over everything pertaining to my current condition and Dr. Khan ordered a series of tests to both get updated numbers, and to be more in-depth to other possible conditions which may be affecting my current "fibromyalgia" diagnosis. She also will go over significant test results and new medications with you in person, which I found very nice. I am having a fresh MRI to perhaps pinpoint another possible issue, and am due to see Dr. Khan again in April. I have also sent several messages to Dr. Khan thru the "MyChart" system, and her and/or her staff has always gotten back to me in a timely manner. While my condition seems very hard to treat, I am hoping for some better luck going forward with Dr. Khan. I plan to continue to see her, and my review is based thus far on the two meetings I have had with her and how I felt as a patient. I recommend Dr. Khan if you are seeking a second (or even third!) opinion as I was, and/or if you just wish to find your first rheumatologist for your specific condition, and are looking for good referrals and reviews. I believe she is rather new to the Elmhurst Hospital location but has great reviews from former patients that were out of state, some very disappointed that they won't be able to see her anymore being that she has relocated to our area - that says a lot. I also believe she can be seen at her Hinsdale office, too and appointments can even be made online. Very much recommended!

He explains things in a way you can understand what the problem is, without being condescending at all. My insurance plan will be changing at the end of this year (and I will no longer be covered to see him), and his office was able to squeeze me in to see him before my current insurance ran out. He was very helpful recommending a good doctor that he trusts who will take our insurance for a procedure I'll need, and said to still call the office if I had any questions.

I would like to rate this office higher but cannot…read more I have been a patient of Dr. Spratford's for almost 10 years and will not go anywhere only because of how great he is as an individual. This review though is for the practice as a whole. Time and time again over the years, this office seems to have suffered the problem of getting too large, too quickly, without enough resources. When they did their major additions and upgrades it took them months to get things together. The staff was/is over-worked and there was too much traffic at all times. Outside of that transition time hasn't been better. Getting in touch with your doctor is difficult. You have to call, leave a message, and often, even if you ask for the doctor, you get a call back from the nurse. Then you have to go through the whole process of leaving a message and waiting again. The staff and RN's have repeatedly gotten my recurring prescriptions wrong when communicating with the pharmacy, sometimes costing me dearly (I will say that the office has resolved this for me with their in house pharmacy, but I had to almost demand it). Out of all of that, my biggest complaint about the office is the general lack of attention to detail. For example, if my doctor leaves town, I have to TELL the doctor filling in to check my chart. To me this should be standard operating procedure. How can you answer a question of a patient if you haven't reviewed their file? They are too busy, without enough administrative staff, and it shows in the quality of assistance I get when I'm not with my doctor. (I'm surprised there's a hidden review here that says pretty much the same thing. I knew when I came on here that I couldn't possibly be the only person who's noticed this problem creep up over the years)

She is young, probably in her 30s, and just very attentative to me. I've seen doctors in the past who were eager to get you in and out, but Dr. Vaughan takes the time to sit down and listen to what you're going through. My most recent visit was in January '08, the reason I didn't really know. I had had a perpetual throat-clearing/cough for at least a year and I was finally getting it checked out. I did some research, and didn't know if it was allergies, asthma, or GIRD. I went in there, she sat down, and said "This is when I get to be a detective and figure out what's going on with you." I thought that was AWESOME! I was in there for an hour an a half, she was running different tests on me, and we figured out that it's possibly allergy-induced asthma, and definitely some allergy issues. I feel a lot better now that we're getting to the bottom of things, and I would recommend her to anyone! Other notes: I rarely have to wait more than 5 minutes in the waiting area to go into a room, which is great. Nothing worse than going to the doctor's office and having to sit and wait (especially when you have an appointment!).
