i know a deli hate to see me coming…read more recently (what took me so long??) i've become obsessed with kayrouz deli on frankfort ave. kayrouz deli is known for their longtime family recipes, meats cooked in-house, & daily specials that you'll think about for the rest of the week. and the vibes, the vibes in there are just too good. pictured is the roast beef dip special (pretty much a french dip), chili, hot brown, & fries. anyway, when i tell you kayrouz deli has entered my personal hall of fame... i meannnnn that. 3202 frankfort ave · mon-sat 11am-8pm

I finally stopped by Kayrouz Delicatessen on Frankfort Avenue and tried the Papa Joe sandwich. It…read morewas $13, and I'd give the overall experience a solid 4 out of 5. The Papa Joe is definitely not your typical Reuben. It's pastrami, corned beef, Swiss, dill pickle and sauerkraut, but instead of the Thousand Island or Russian dressing you normally get on a Reuben, Kayrouz uses Düsseldorf mustard. That gives it a completely different flavor and makes it stand out from the other Reubens I've tried. I really liked the atmosphere here, too. It's an older building with a cozy, old-school feel, and I enjoyed looking at all the pictures throughout the inside. It has some character to it that you just don't get in a newer restaurant. The staff was also very friendly and welcoming, which made the visit even better. There's also some pretty cool Louisville history behind the Kayrouz name. The family has been in the restaurant business here for generations, going all the way back to the 1920s. The current deli carries on recipes and traditions connected to J.P. Kayrouz, so you're getting more than just another sandwich shop when you walk through the door. Overall, I enjoyed my visit. The Papa Joe was good, the staff was great, and I really liked the atmosphere. It wasn't my favorite Reuben-style sandwich I've had, but I'd definitely come back and try some of the other things on the menu. There are several sandwiches that caught my eye, so I'll probably be back to see what else Kayrouz has to offer.

Ok deli eats! Let's…read moredo dinner, or late lunch. This place always hits. They are always busy, it says a lot! Now usually the best of all times is here. Today is no different, except the order for to-go is taking longer. You can order on line and probably should have down that on pre Friday: it's thankful Thursday and I'm happy that they are open and happy to help me. Ok it's a club. The best club that I've seen in a while. They have potatoes here too. It's just so delicious. They put it all on the side. After ordering, this local took longer this time. Again it's all good. Whether to go or not . The deli is the best option and cost is average. Make sure and sign up for the app and get points towards your next purchase. Now we are awaiting the order all is right and we head to home. Next time thank you to the staff .

I ordered some food and, of course, my carrot cake. This time, I got the utensils... but NO CARROT CAKE! At this point, I can only laugh! Last time, I had the cake but nothing to eat it with. This time, I had something to eat it with but no cake! ‍ Luckily, I wasn't in a hurry today, so I didn't make a stink about it. I simply walked my happy tail back inside and got my carrot cake. But seriously, attention to detail matters! Especially when customers are ordering to-go. Please make sure people leave with everything they ordered AND the utensils necessary to eat what they ordered! I'm not asking for much here, McAlister's. I just want my carrot cake and a way to eat it. Preferably at the same time!

IYKYK!! Morris Deli…read moreis most definitely a spot to try! Everything about this place screams hole in the wall, yet this place is such a GEM! Just on the edge of the Highlands, Morris Deli is not only your stop for your packaged drinks, but a nice sandwich or homemade soup as well. Drive by on the right day, you'll also see the smoker blowing outside. My sandwich of choice is a club on a toasted croissant with Colby cheese and a cup of broccoli cheddar soup. Look at the pictures, this place doesn't miss! It's constantly full of usuals and the staff definitely knows their people. Morris Deli is the neighborhood classic and definitely a place to try when in Louisville.

Definitely a ( sort of ) hidden gem…read more I really love this spot because when I can't find certain things like Coopers cheese, or legit country ham, they are there in full force. It's hard to find certain things in Louisville. They fill the gaps. Service is pretty on point. Straight up and " let's get to it " kind of vibe I'm used to in big cities, but they don't really rush you. Just let someone pass you if there's questions. There's just a lot of random things here down to the chips and take home items that are worth the visit alone. Need an entire country ham with stamps from the farm? Check. Bread is pretty good too. I would for sure recommend this place, but it takes a few trips to get your orders dialed in.
