We brought our son to Dr. Riabova about a year ago because she was in-network with our insurance and had openings. We were trying to get our son help for a diagnosis he had previously received. The comments of others are spot on about her office--she is often late to see patients and her office is a bit messy.
But a few things concerned me more. It took us several months to get a medication prescription from Riabova when my son started off. After our intake appointment, we were waiting on the prescription to be called in to our pharmacy. When I called her office, I was told she was on vacation to Russia and had to wait until she got back. It surprised me that she didn't have a doctor on call who could help. After not hearing from her for a couple weeks, I called the office and found out that Riabova had been back for at least a week. So I was a bit upset that no one had called me back or took responsibility of the miscue.
There were several times I called where no one called me back. In general I got the impression that they didn't care about us. After we had to cancel an appointment due to something that came up, we asked to reschedule. No one called us back. We did get a few medication refills, we were told we either had to pick up the prescription or have them mailed to us (we had them mailed). In other words, we were told due to the nature of the medication, they couldn't get called into pharmacies. After getting a couple of medication refills, we got a nasty typed letter in the mail chastising us for not getting an appointment rescheduled. Needless to say, we changed to another provider who was much more thorough on intake and was able to call the same medication into our pharmacy!
The good: Riabova seems knowledgeable, was nice to us in-person, and worked through a few medications to find one that worked with my son.
The bad: the office seems disorganized, rarely picking up the phone or calling us back. It seems that we were lied to several times, and we got the impression that my son wasn't valued as a patient. read more
