I never even got to get a word in. When I finally make my way to the window, I pay and then she gives me a straw and demands that I go park out front. I was about to ask why considering I got only an iced cap, but she walked away before I could say anything. Then when I finally got my iced cap it tasted like shit so that's pretty disappointing after all that hahaha. I like the Decour as it does have a very Japanese theme with samurai swords handcrafted boats for sushi parties and other paraphernalia, though it seems like their space isn't quite big enough for them as they have a lot of their storage overflowing into the main part of the Resturaunt a.k.a. soda boxes and a freeze. As far as Japanese cuisine goes though there for sure the best in town that I've come across. It is worth checking out if you're into Japanese food or in the area and want something other than fast food. It took about 10 minutes for the food to be ready to go. There are several spots to park in the area as it's essentially a strip mall

This place has really gone downhill. It used to be our favourite, but I'm not sure if we'll go…read moreback. the last two times we ordered, we were met with rude and inept service from the young boy at the front. This last visit was the last straw. We ordered for pickup and were told 30-35 minutes. That's fine. This was around 8pm. I just got off work. When we arrived, we were immediately told they were closing. I said we were there for pickup. The young boy wandered around for a bit. Then he returned and asked if we were picking up for Skip. I said no. Then he said he couldn't find our order. I named a few things we ordered. He said he forgot to put the order through and offered us 50% off. We just turned around and left without a word. Are you kidding? We're hungry at this point. It will take roughly another 30-35 minutes, and they'll most-likely rush it because they're "closed" even though it's only 8:45pm. It's now too late to go anywhere else to order food because we wasted our time with the clown who answered the phone and took our order without actually taking it. This is absurd and should be dealt with if you wish to keep your customers, and I'm too tired to complain to Management. Nothing will be done about it anyway. At least Safeway was open. Nothing beats fruit with dip, peanuts, and Jamaican patties because it's too late to actually cook a decent meal. Had we known ahead of time, I just would have gone to Safeway to begin with. Maybe then I could have made something better because I would have had more time.

The menu is full of unique creations that you won't find anywhere else. Even if this café were in Edmonton I'd say that the menu is unique. We both had bubble waffle breakfasts. Mine was a combination of a Bennie and a bubble waffle. The eggs were poached very nicely and the hollandaise sauce had some horseradish mixed in. Unfortunately the roast beef was dry despite the sauce. I enjoyed the breakfast but the roast beef was disappointing. I washed it down with my coffee and that coffee was just right. My partner ordered the Breakfast Bubble Sandwich. I was surprised to see that it included potatoes as they don't normally go with waffles. She said it didn't have much flavour and she asked for some surup to help it out. This could be a fine breakfast place with a few tweaks here and there. I still might choose it over some of the other establishments in town as I value unique menu offerings and locally owned business. I heard the server talking to another customer and saying that they were closed last week because of the lack of staff. That's a problem everywhere but it's probably even more challenging here in Lloydminster where heavy industry pays big wages that are hard to compete with. Do I recommend The Diner? I'm not sure if I can recommend it at this time but they have lots of potential if they can iron out a few issues (the same issues that probably effect the other restaurants in town).
