I know I mentioned it above, but they open early which is a bonus as I am on CST time and up early. And the menu selection is fantastic. However, the drinks left a lot to be desired. We drove right by our local Starbucks wanting to give a local place a shot this morning. We ordered an Americano and a Chai Tea Latte. We unfortunately were not impressed by either, quite frankly having a tough time finishing them all. I hate to support major chains, but I have to admit Starbucks always has us sipping those drinks down quickly because of how tasty they are and we were hoping to experience the same. The coffee tasting I purchased a ticket for was expertly hosted (thanks, Bella!) and I learned, sniffed, and tasted a ton. It's evident Sweet Bloom really values the culture of the bean and do their absolute best to keep the industry sustainable, healthy, and filled with people who value the craft and can earn a living practicing it. I'm looking forward to more experiences they host. The coffee itself was of course, delicious and expertly crafted. I stuck with an espresso after the tasting and it was perfect. Lots of comfortable seating with outlets. Plenty of people coming in and out with backpacks or laptop bags slung over their shoulders gives the place a chill coworking energy. On both of my visits the baristas have been warm and friendly. I do have to knock down a mark because so far the drinks I've gotten have been just okay. I started with a regular matcha latte which was pleasant but a bit gritty and unremarkable. The second time I tried the ube matcha but sadly the ube didn't really come through and it mostly tasted like the plain matcha I'd had previously. Seems like maybe the coffee drinks are the way to go so I'll have to keep exploring the menu to find my favorites. I will definitely be back here when I'm sick of staring at my laptop inside my apartment and want to stare at my laptop somewhere else instead.

Between the pastry case that looks like it belongs in a museum and croissants so perfectly golden brown they almost appear artificial, every item seems to have been crafted with an almost unreasonable amount of care. I ordered the breakfast croissant, a black coffee, and a blueberry muffin. Now, I firmly believe a bakery's coffee should be judged the same way a singer is judged performing acoustically: no fancy tricks, no backup dancers, nowhere to hide. If your black coffee is excellent, everything else is built on a strong foundation. Thankfully, La Belle passed that test with flying colors. The breakfast croissant somehow managed to be both delicately flaky and impossibly soft at the same time. Every bite left a trail of evidence on my shirt that I regret absolutely none of. I'm fairly certain the croissant received more quality control inspections than my first apartment. The blueberry muffin was equally impressive, striking that magical balance between homemade comfort and professional craftsmanship. But if I had to describe La Belle in a single word, it would be love. You do not create food this visually stunning and effortlessly delicious unless the people behind it are deeply passionate about what they do. Every pastry, sandwich, dessert, and loaf of bread seemed to radiate the kind of attention to detail normally associated with Swiss watchmakers, NASA engineers, and grandmothers preparing for a family gathering. There's actually a door from the coffee shop to one of the ice hockey arenas so I suppose if you're playing or watching a game at the sports stable, you can pop right over for a fresh coffee. Now for the coffee- I ordered a seasonal pumpkin spice latte. I could really taste the cinnamon and nutmeg, which is what I want from a good PSL. I also really liked the espresso - good quality medium roast, not too heavy or dark. In addition to coffee, they have tea, matcha, smoothies, and chai. There's a $.65 charge for almond milk and a $1.06 charge for oat milk. They offer a punchcard, and after 10 drinks you can earn a free drink. Overall, really good coffee in a super cute space!
