And the menu selection is fantastic. However, the drinks left a lot to be desired. We drove right by our local Starbucks wanting to give a local place a shot this morning. We ordered an Americano and a Chai Tea Latte. We unfortunately were not impressed by either, quite frankly having a tough time finishing them all. I hate to support major chains, but I have to admit Starbucks always has us sipping those drinks down quickly because of how tasty they are and we were hoping to experience the same. I do hope to see this place prosper in the coming months and would be willing to give them another try.

Lots of comfortable seating with outlets. Plenty of people coming in and out with backpacks or laptop bags slung over their shoulders gives the place a chill coworking energy. On both of my visits the baristas have been warm and friendly. I do have to knock down a mark because so far the drinks I've gotten have been just okay. I started with a regular matcha latte which was pleasant but a bit gritty and unremarkable. The second time I tried the ube matcha but sadly the ube didn't really come through and it mostly tasted like the plain matcha I'd had previously. Seems like maybe the coffee drinks are the way to go so I'll have to keep exploring the menu to find my favorites. Between the pastry case that looks like it belongs in a museum and croissants so perfectly golden brown they almost appear artificial, every item seems to have been crafted with an almost unreasonable amount of care. I ordered the breakfast croissant, a black coffee, and a blueberry muffin. Now, I firmly believe a bakery's coffee should be judged the same way a singer is judged performing acoustically: no fancy tricks, no backup dancers, nowhere to hide. If your black coffee is excellent, everything else is built on a strong foundation. Thankfully, La Belle passed that test with flying colors. The breakfast croissant somehow managed to be both delicately flaky and impossibly soft at the same time. Every bite left a trail of evidence on my shirt that I regret absolutely none of. But if I had to describe La Belle in a single word, it would be love.
