Tastefull, tender, juicy and ll you can eat. Probably the best ribs I had so far and I have had allot of ribs! Oh and there are also lots of screens streaming multiple sports, in this sports bar. I/We drove 30 minutes and coughedup the expensive "Amsterdam parking" multiple times just for these ribs. No regerts! (tip:fill up the car with family/friends and split the bill ) Nice and easy accessible location at the Leidseplein. Really affordable food(I can only vouch for the amazing ribs) and nice deals on drinks. Sourshots and Jeagerbombs recommended. At least half of the staff is friendly..and 1/10 can actually communicate in Dutch (not an issue for me but dor locals...hence the 4/5 stars)

They have a great TV setup, so practically every seat in the pub will have you within viewing distance of any TV screen. They also played the audio of the game and it is in English (albeit Irish English). Legit setup. Not just that, but the snack options here are pretty legit. Wasn't terribly hungry, but I had to grab some bitterballen and spicy potato wedges. Really tasty and quite affordable! Staff here is very friendly too. The upstairs third floor bathroom had a metal trough style urinal and graffiti on the back of the door - loved it. The second floor had a karaoke room that was structured as a cave with comfy leather seats and a microphone - karaoke every Thursday night. This place isn't huge, but it's got enough televisions to watch the games. Thank you so much to the owners for having the World Series on. I know there weren't many Americans around, but catering to us for a special baseball game is a lot of love. The (cheap) booze was flowing, the comraderie went on all night long. There also other soccer related items on the walls and a television on the back wall for your viewing pleasure. For us, the bartender made this place great. The young lady behind the bar who told her if she had been working there for the past 19 years had a great personality, knew how to pour a beer, and had a certain way about her, that made it clear that she was in the right job, and at the right place. If you stop in you also meet "McQueen" who is the bar cat. From what we understand because the buildings are old, a lot of the bars and other establishments have cats to manage any potential problem with mice. The bar is noisy and can get crowded very quickly because it is pretty small. If you are in Amsterdam and are looking for a place to sit down at the bar and have a few beers this is a good place. I don't think we were the only tourists in there, but I think the tourists were outnumbered by the locals. We enjoyed this place very much and I think you will too.

While we were walking to a sports bar we found on Yelp, we walked by Eetcafe de Jordaan and saw all the patrons glued to the TV, yelling and screaming. That's all we needed, to make a bee-line for this place instead. Best decision that night! As we walked to the Eetcafe, the owner, Eddy was passing out appetizers to all the patrons, including us, as we were walking in. There had been a commercial break, so everyone was hanging out 'til the game started again. Fortunately, we found the very last table by the bar and ordered some drinks. (Eddy later said that he always makes complimentary appetizers during an event, like a game or celebration, because his bar is like inviting people in his home.) I wanted to order a shot of whiskey with this Dutch cider I was drinking, so Eddy was helping me figure out which to order. He legit gave me a shot of four different whiskeys 'til I decided on one. Holy shit! Best customer service. He was getting to know us, Americans and after the game, recommended places to see, what to eat and what to avoid. He seemed genuinely interested in getting to know us and his other customers in the bar. Throughout the entire time at the bar and during the game, the vibe was awesome. It was way better than we expected. Sure, we could've settled on a sports bar, but watching the hometown soccer team in a hometown, locals bar seemed much better. I'm so happy we found Eetcafe de Jordaan and met Eddy! It made us feel like we were a part of the local community! I can't recommend a visit to Eetcafe de Jordaan enough.
