Beyond that, the women working the stand were all nice, and the prices were very reasonable. I got corn which was also quite good, and was a standard price so I didn't feel like I needed to buy a bunch just to get a bulk discount. I did also try the green valley farms labeled black cherry soda - that was probably the only 3/4 star experience for me, but would be perfect for someone who likes the flavor of black cherry soda without the carbonation of a brand like Stewart's.

Maybe it was an off day, but the meat selection (despite copious advertising outside) was small and outlandishly priced. The rest of the farm stand was also very small and low on stock. We frequent Abma's Farm often, who do the same sort of thing and their market is constantly stocked to the brim and their prices are significantly lower for similar quality meat and produce. Service was kind and courteous. The land here is absolutely gorgeous. Just go with reasonable expectations.

Each food and beverage option was clearly thought out by the owners to make their guests get into the Autumn and Halloween season. There is a gift shop that is filled with country items and different little knickknacks and tasty bites. You enter through the store, so I would recommend buying your stuff before your night begins so they do not run out of stock. There were fires pits and a band that played all night. The band was perfect! They were not loud and just played the right type of music for the atmosphere. I have been to a lot of outside venues like this one and the bands are either too loud or play music that is "just not right". The band Pierson's had was very low key but were excellent musicians and the lead singer had a great voice and their choice of songs were perfect for the atmosphere. These were fantastic opportunities to interact with all of their animals, have a picnic, and basically enjoy the day with my children. So, not surprisingly, my daughter volunteered to help at some of their events (the farm is used to help those with developmental disabilities) and ultimately decided to have her 14th Birthday Party there on 8/2/15. This was, in my daughter's words, the BEST BIRTHDAY EVER!!! First, they have over 100 animals there ranging from camels to baby porcupines to monkeys. I don't know if it's because of their summer camp or the constant attention but the animals were all super sweet with the children. The kids fed them, picked them up, and I even fed a cracker to a camel with my mouth and got a kiss (highly recommend that). All this activity occurred around a central covered patio where the food and cake was served. They had storage for my party supplies, a fridge for the cake, and even supplied extra plates and extension cords that I had forgotten. But the absolutely best part our party at Country Ark Farm was the family that runs it. The owners themselves basically gave us free rein of the farm and provided two extremely sweet and knowledgeable young women to run the party, take care of our every need, and take us on a tour of the farm. These 2 ladies were incredible. They kept the party moving and anytime there was a lull, such as when some kids were done eating but others were still going at it, they would pull out some activity (face painting, bracelet making, water balloon fight) to keep the kids occupied. This was literally a stress free party. I would like to especially thank Rebecca for making the day such a success. She demonstrated both poise and grace in the face of over 20 kids, a family that came 45 minutes early, and an uninvited german shepherd one guest brought. You're the best!!!

My friend wanted to come…read morehere during her bachelorette trip as she previously did the nature walk and wanted to try the hike. The hike is almost 2 miles and for our group it took about an hour. Keep in mind this was with many delays. Let me delve into why I ranked this experience only 2 stars. The cost for the hike ended up being $60.00/pp after tax. I understand that the majority of this money is basically a donation and not for the experience but even then I would not have paid this much. There was about 10 goats who came on the hike along with 3 dogs. Now the problem is 2 of the goats they took on the hike, Luna and Oreo. They put red collars on these goats to indicate they are not friendly or that you shouldn't pet them. Oreo had a bell on his collar but Luna did not. The point of the bell is so you can hear the goat coming. Our guide Megan told us to generally stay away from Oreo and Luna since they weren't as friendly as the other goats. Additionally, they gave us ski poles to utilize during the hike to be used as a boundary between you and the goat. Oreo and Luna disregarded the ski poles all together. We gave them so much space and were actively avoiding them, didn't provoke them at all. Out of our group of 9 girls, 3 of us were attacked/headbutted by Luna or Oreo, including me. Oreo headbutted one of the girls so hard she fell to the ground. Not to mention once we got back from the hike we realized we were actually bruised red/black/blue from where the goats hit us with their horns. The problem was that Oreo and Luna have like an alpha problem where they don't get along. So if Luna is at the front of the line, Oreo doesn't want to be up there and vice versa. We asked Megan multiple times if she was able to slow down because Oreo would be in the middle of the pack, and after getting attacked, we were afraid to go around him. She reiterated that she couldn't come back to get him because if she double-backed then all the goats would follow her which would delay the hike. But the fact we couldn't go around Oreo delayed the hike. I just wish that they only brough one of the problematic goats and not both as it really delayed the hike and soured the experience. Or, have 2 guides instead of 1 which could handle both goats. Not to mention at the end of the hike you can pick out stickers of your favorite goat/dog. But if you get headbutted you get a special sticker to commemorate it. That means they are actively acknowledging the problem since they spent money on a custom sticker they give out to the lucky winners. I understand we signed a waiver but you never expect to be attacked. We all now have PTSD from bell noises. Honestly, if they didn't bring Oreo or Luna I think we would have had a great time on this hike.
