Maverik is always a great road trip stop, especally in Nephi! I make the 6 hour drive from Las…read moreVegas to Park City, Utah frequently, and I always start to get a little tired of the monotony on this stretch of road. That's why I like to stop here to take a break and refresh before getting back on the interstate. This Maverik is consistently clean, well maintained, and feels like a safe, reliable place to stop. There are plenty of gas pumps, which means quick stops with minimal waiting, and the store has a great selection of hot snacks, cold snacks, drinks, nachos, and those delicious Cinnabon cinnamon rolls that are hard to pass up! Seriously, NOBODY can beat Maverik on the snack situation. As my grandpapa used to say, "if they don't have it it, you don't need it." The fountain and bottled sodas, milkshakes, juices, water, energy drinks...the variety is crazy and there's something for everyone. One of the best features is the outdoor picnic area with tables and beautiful mountain views, a perfect spot to stretch your legs, relax, and enjoy a quick meal before getting back on the road. This is a convenient, comfortable stop that makes traveling through Utah even better.

The store side is lacking in the snack department, but I suspect its because they'd prefer you ate at the cafe instead of a grab and go meal. They do have some lower calories options, like the Nabisco 100-calorie snack packs and little hummus and pretzel packs in the cooler. They don't have a lot beyond that and chips. They have a ton of novelty candies for kids. The cafe serves typical diner fare, but is way on the pricey side. One day on the specials board I saw root beer floats for $5. Ouch. The counter where you pay has a lot of delicious looking baked goods in it like humongous cookies and muffins, but I've never tried them. We have never dined at the cafe, but plan to, eventually. They have a monopoly being the only place to grab a cold drink and a bag of chips on the mountaintop, but I enjoy the general-store look of the place and the charm of the mountain resort in general.

As soon as the hot dog was placed on the bun, the bun falls apart not even making it to the condiments which were so many to choose from. (Ketchup, mustard, and packets of relish or mayo) I get you want to give that local feel, but local and lazy are different. I'd recommend just driving 20 more seconds to the main resort area or just keep going down the canyon. A local BCC resident cooking on their grill might just give you a hotdog on the way down.
