Pitches are hidden away and branch off from bumpy walking paths and are surrounded by woodland. The pitches are so far apart from each other that you'll often forget you have neighbours. An awesome option which I tried for the first time here, as we were only staying for one night, are the pre-erected tents. It felt like a bit of a cop out but was an absolute godsend. When we arrived, we were shown to the load/unload point nearest to our spot. Depending on where you're located on the site, you then use their huge wheelbarrows to lug your gear to your spot which could be anywhere from a 1-6 minute walk-ish. Most, if not all of the pitches come with a handmade canopy area and some kind of hand crafted seating arrangement / bench area which can vary in quality dependant on what you've paid. The pre-erected tent that we paid for came with EVERYTHING. A washing up area with water butt, bowl, washing up liquid, tea towels; a kitchenette type arrangement with gas, cooker (2 hobs), kettle, and a big cupboard which contained all your kitchen utensils and cutlery etc. Oh, and a coolbox too! Although it was a bit knackered due to squirrels trying to break and enter... We also had a real charming dining area with a big table and benches which where made by the owner's son. SO impressed. Additionally as part of this package we got a fire pit/grill thing so we obviously had a BBQ for dinner and breakfast. Fuel is available to buy from the reception for a decent price. Everything here is GREEN - they really pride themselves on being environmentally friendly. They're big on recycling and enthusiastic about respecting your surroundings. Some of their rules can be a bit confusing, mainly if you've had a few beers before visiting the bathroom... There are two toilets in a cubicle. One for 1s and another for 2s! Also no flush, just a jug, and some sawdust. Totally fine though. On site there's a little cafe which is only open at certain times, I didn't get chance to visit but seemed lovely. There's a communal washing up point for the visitors who don't have their own, and a freezer for you to help yourself to ice packs for your cooler - they've really thought of everything to make your stay as easy as possible! The owners are great, too. Dead interesting characters and so friendly and helpful. And they own goats, dogs, and chickens! Think they might be my idols. Living the dream.

They look expensive. There is an outside pool, that I didn't have time to try, not scared of shrinkage, (honest). It's next to the bar and takeaway food outlet. The kitchen also prepares the food for any bar customers that want a meal. The weather was still lovely so I sat out on the covered decking and had a lovely chicken burger to go with my pint. As the name of the site suggests, there is a river running along the side of the site and it's a pleasant place to walk the dog. The children have a games room with a pool table in it and coin slot entertainment machines. The toilet and shower block is very well kept and the pitches are all well spaced out. The caravan had everything you need for a relaxing break. and everything in the van was clean and tidy, James and Emma have taken over the running of the site, and were on hand if any problems. Outside you get a parking space and a picnic table and a large free area in front of the van. overall the site is beautiful, peaceful and very quiet, possible not the best place if you are looking for an all action site!. and the sound of the nature at night. 10/10 will be back again

The roof top bar has reasonably priced food, basic entertainment and beautiful views out to sea. While we we there they used the large playing field to put an absolutely massive bouncy castle in. They also have a few security guards wandering around who are courteous which is a nice peace of mind. Only very slight negatives here are that the pitches are relatively closely packed together so if you have small kids and have a noisy pitch next door or vice versa it may be a challenge. However, it's really a lovely site in a lovely location and that shouldn't put you off. Some reviews mention the proximity of the cliffs but they are at the end of a long walk and a beach so unless you aren't watching your children for ages is not a problem at all. Take your fishing rods as the beach is great for Mackerel fishing so good to spend some time fishing with the kids. People were catching loads without effort.

Quite a steep walk down so to get back you can get the bus from the old train station. The 555 stops at the entrance to the park. This bus goes all the way to Bodmin. At the end of the field is a Tescos. The toilet and shower blocks are spotless. Grounds are well maintained. Children's play area. Dog field.

First impressions, on driving in, was of the greenery surrounding the caravans. Tranquil and…read morerelaxing. Very friendly reception with everything sorted out within minutes. We were totally shocked when we arrived at out holiday caravan for our four day stay. A 10 berth caravan for the two of us with TV, DVD player, CD player, microwave etc etc. and, more to the point, clean. As I have said, surrounded by trees and greenery. It was great, at dusk, to see the bats flying around and, as a special treat, a flypast by an owl one evening. I cannot comment on the bar, swimming pool, restaurant or entertainment as we didn't use any. However, a quick view into the covered swimming pool, it looked really nice.
