Alex was very friendly on the phone and explained what coats and colours were available in the same price range. After my friend made a choice I whizzed down to New George Street. Alex couldn't have been more helpful and I changed the coat over before having a look around the store. It was larger than I'd expected and there's certainly a lot of quality stuff on sale. I was tempted by some of the colourful outdoor clothes and backpacks but didn't buy anything on that occasion.

It…read morehas clothes on the entrance floor and then go downstairs for boots, sleeping bags etc. Prices are reasonable and staff are very friendly and helpful. Products are well discounted in the sales so always worth a look then. This store is ideal for the general product as well as more specific sports items and they are quite happy for staff to just browse but are also available if you need help without being pushy about it- nice to have a store where the staff are not just behind a till.

This caravan site is just outside Plymouth and is well laid out. There are statics, tourers and big…read moredouble-sized caravans the size of chalets with their own wall and road. They look expensive. There is an outside pool, that I didn't have time to try, not scared of shrinkage, (honest). It's next to the bar and takeaway food outlet. The kitchen also prepares the food for any bar customers that want a meal. The weather was still lovely so I sat out on the covered decking and had a lovely chicken burger to go with my pint. As the name of the site suggests, there is a river running along the side of the site and it's a pleasant place to walk the dog. The children have a games room with a pool table in it and coin slot entertainment machines. The toilet and shower block is very well kept and the pitches are all well spaced out. Good wee site for stopping off at on the tour of Britain.

Welcoming very friendly, rates very good and the site facilities are perfect for a campsite. Little social club with amazing home made food at great prices. Take away facility. Swimming pool. Little shop for necessities. Definitely will be coming back. Great location and a small walk from the park and ride into Plymouth city centre, and a 2 or 3 min drive to the A38.

Honestly the best camp site I've EVER been to. Ever…read more The main USP of this place is its privacy. Pitches are hidden away and branch off from bumpy walking paths and are surrounded by woodland. The pitches are so far apart from each other that you'll often forget you have neighbours. An awesome option which I tried for the first time here, as we were only staying for one night, are the pre-erected tents. It felt like a bit of a cop out but was an absolute godsend. When we arrived, we were shown to the load/unload point nearest to our spot. Depending on where you're located on the site, you then use their huge wheelbarrows to lug your gear to your spot which could be anywhere from a 1-6 minute walk-ish. Most, if not all of the pitches come with a handmade canopy area and some kind of hand crafted seating arrangement / bench area which can vary in quality dependant on what you've paid. The pre-erected tent that we paid for came with EVERYTHING. A washing up area with water butt, bowl, washing up liquid, tea towels; a kitchenette type arrangement with gas, cooker (2 hobs), kettle, and a big cupboard which contained all your kitchen utensils and cutlery etc. Oh, and a coolbox too! Although it was a bit knackered due to squirrels trying to break and enter... We also had a real charming dining area with a big table and benches which where made by the owner's son. SO impressed. Additionally as part of this package we got a fire pit/grill thing so we obviously had a BBQ for dinner and breakfast. Fuel is available to buy from the reception for a decent price. Everything here is GREEN - they really pride themselves on being environmentally friendly. They're big on recycling and enthusiastic about respecting your surroundings. Some of their rules can be a bit confusing, mainly if you've had a few beers before visiting the bathroom... There are two toilets in a cubicle. One for 1s and another for 2s! Also no flush, just a jug, and some sawdust. Totally fine though. On site there's a little cafe which is only open at certain times, I didn't get chance to visit but seemed lovely. There's a communal washing up point for the visitors who don't have their own, and a freezer for you to help yourself to ice packs for your cooler - they've really thought of everything to make your stay as easy as possible! The owners are great, too. Dead interesting characters and so friendly and helpful. And they own goats, dogs, and chickens! Think they might be my idols. Living the dream.

Hazelwood Park is lovely in the summer…read more Its most notable because it has the won the David Bellamy award for looking after the park. There are 2 large lakes for fishing and the amount of wildlife that can be seen on the park is fantastic, from ducks, geese, rabbits, swans and various migrating birds throughout the autumn. The accommodation is good unless you go for the cheapest ones which are pretty basic, but you get what you pay for. There is entertainment on site every night, as well as a playground for the kids, a Londis shop and outdoor swimming pool. The entertainment provided is quite good and the bar has a good number of drinks. The londis stops a wide range of goods and is open all day everyday. There is also a Fish and Chip takeaway.

The site has a fish and chip shop, the chips are gorgeous, a laundrette, small outdoor pool, and a fishing lake. There is entertainemt nightly in the club area, be that from bingo, quizzes, show time. The bar is of a good size and is slightly away from the main entertainment area, so you could still pop in and have a drink whilst other family members are taking part in the entertainment. There is a Londis shop on site, which has a good selection of stock. The site itself is tranquil and has a wildlife area. Ideal as afamily holiday, couples, or silver surfers, everybody is welcomed here. For anyone who likes to get out and about Torquay and Exeter are both about 12 miles away, and within 30 minutes you can be up on Dartmoor/

A caravan and campsite in a really beautiful setting, some great views from some of the pitches. Toilets/showers/washrooms all plentiful and kept very clean. Plenty of open space in the camping fields - lots of room for kite flying. A very well looked after site run by a great couple. Book in plenty of time as it does get full during the school hols. in the summer. Well located - the nearest beach is about 2 miles away.

a small but well equipped camping / outdoors shop. has…read moreeverything you would expect to see including hiking boots, waterproof coats, torches, camping stoves, sleeping bags etc. it is only a small shop so dont hold vast amounts of stock, however most things are available within just a couple of days of ordering. there is a fitting room for you to try on any of the clothing. price wise it is reasonable. most things would probably be cheaper if you went to a learger town, but then once you add the fuel costs and parking costs etc you arent really saving anything.
