I came here with my daughter and my parents. The bar side of the place looked super fun with a night club feel, but the dining side was absolutely dead and they didn't have high chairs when requested so it's not a very kid friendly environment. The waitresses that we met were very friendly and attentive but the food was subpar and the drinks weren't well mixed. The music was good and they played Terminator on the big screen while we ate so I guess that was a plus. Maybe I'd come back for the bar side but that's about it. read more

The decor and friendly waiter saved this place from getting a two star from me. The food took terribly long. The flavors were very bland. They didn't have house hot sauce and offered Tabasco instead! I had what seemed like crunchy sand or dirt in my teeth from the salsa.. They forgot to give tortilla with the fajita! I think I can cook better Latin food and I'm not a Latina! read more

BAD KARMA MY FRIENDS We showed up for dinner on a Friday night around 9pm and decided to eat in the bar. On the plus side: great bartender and front of house staff. We waited over an hour for our order (a burger and a veggie wrap). They explained that one chef was out and they were dealing with a large party of 8 in the main dining room. So I took a peek: the ONLY party was said 8-top...the rest of the dining room was completely empty. As for the food: my veggie wrap, though requested without teriyaki, was a trip to the salt lick and completely inedible (even for my partner who loves his sodium). I took two bites and left the entire plate over without so much as a note of concern from the bartender. (his specialty must be booze only). The fries were over cooked in what was probably recycled oil, which is all I could taste. My partner's burger was loaded with grease but he was so starved he ate the whole thing anyway. "Tasty but salty", in short. We didn't make it to dessert. Based on this experience and the lack of fellow diners, I have to wonder how a few regulars can keep this place open. If you go, go for drinks. Period. read more

We were there for dinner twice. The first time we went because of a very good NY Times review and it was fine. I felt sorry for the owners because there was only one other couple there at the time. The second time we went, there was a group sitting in front of the entrance smoking. One of those smokers turned out to be a Karma Lounge waitress, fortunately not ours. A group of loud men dressed in work clothes emerged from the bar and sat down at a table in the restaurant area. Another couple sat in a back corner and were "making out." This was entertainment we didn't expect. The food was very good but in spite of the nice decor, the place lacked class. Karma Lounge has been crossed off our list of restaurants. A restaurant needs more than good food to succeed. read more

Quite possibly the worst dining experience I've ever had. Although the restaurant was completely empty when we arrived, we waited for over a half hour just for appetizers, and only got them after asking twice. After the appetizer, we waited another 30 minutes for the entree. We asked the waitess and she said they'd be "right out." A full 45 minutes after that... nothing. We asked the owner and were told that they were busy with a birthday party... which had gotten there after us! We felt like we just weren't valued at all. To top it all off, we went $8 over our Groupon, and they actually gave us a bill for the $8 even though they knew we were unhappy. This awful meal made me an hour late to my own birthday party. Been here a couple times for the night scene. If you like latin places this places has a latin flair with it s staff and setting. I actually came down here for my birthday with the folks. We had some delicious chicken with aji and karma piassa ( I think this was the name). The piassa had several cuts of various inckudinf skirt steak,eggs,avocado, fried steaks among others. Sort of a beefy sampler. A Lot of food. I had to take a doggy bag. The waitress was really nice. We came at a slow night so we pretty much the last people there. I excused to go to the restroom. On way there the waitress casually asked if it was my birthday which i answered yes ( my Dad had commented this to her while she was getting us drinks). When i came back to the table Birthday tracks started playing and the waitress showed up with churros,Tiramisu and Sombreros. They sang happy birthday and ut was great fun. Great servirce and experience. Definetly reccomend. read more

The waitress wasn't able to explain the menu. If a question was asked, her answers would start with a "I think". The place has a bad odor when you first walk in. They charged me extra on my credit card and the drinks were CRAPPY! I do not recommend this place! It is cheap yes, but the service and drinks are trash. read more

Had reservation for four for 8pm with Groupon. First we ordered the martinis. We got 2 and had to wait 10-15 minutes for the additional two. We got the starters within a reasonable time. As for the entrees, after a wait of about 30 minutes, they announce us that they ran out of steaks. It was 9:45 and we were still waiting for our entrees. Most reviews of Karma Lounge are irrelevant as ownership changed within the last year, but they kept the same name. This is now an EXCELLENT Ecuadorian style restaurant, with an extensive Latin American home-style menu usually only found in NYC, the southwest and and in countries of the cuisine origin; top quacamole, hand made thick soft tacos, tender steaks and chicken, excellent fresh fish, and a really lovely wait staff. Service can be slow, typical of dining in Latin countries where relaxing over dinner is an event worth participating in. read more

A friend and I recently had dinner at the Karma Lounge in Ossining which has just reopened (only a month) under new managment and was presently surprised . the menu is Mexican/ Spanish, with a great selection. I had the grilled shrimp salad and my friend had fried calamari dinner, both very good nice portions and resonable prices. After dinner the waitress came out with 2 more dishes compliments of mangement, which were absolutely wonderful! read more

My husband and I ate at Karma Lounge on a freezing cold Friday in January. Because of the cold it was a quiet crowd - a group of about 8 women celebrating a birthday, and a handful of couples including us, and a few people sitting by the bar. While we tend to like more of a scene, and I imagine on a nicer evening, and a little later in the evening, this place would draw more of a crowd. It's a very pretty loungy-feeling restaurant witha nice bar area, and an outdoor patio for warmer weather, and the tapas we ordered were absolutely delicious. First they served a nice complimentary crostini with some cheese on it. The two dishes we ordered were muscles in a saffron sauce that were out of this world - we kept getting more bread for dipping; and a shrimp w. fava beans with roasted garlic, also really tasty. We had filled up so much on bread that we didn't order others, though I'm eager to go back to try more of their dishes as it all looked delicious. We did have two fantastic deserts - the chocolate sensation and a fresh smooth cheese cake - we're picky about deserts and these both really hit the mark. I will definitely be returning to this spot and highly recommend it. read more

Having lived in Ossining all of my life, I was super excited to try this place. It seemed like just the type of place that Ossining needed, a nice place to lounge and chat with friends. Having said that, I was extremely dissapointed after doing just that, going there for a girls night. Our service at the bar was ok, but after moving to their lounge area it went straight down hill. The waitress NEVER came to our table, even to clean up our drinks. We had to get up and go to the bar and get our own. Then a "band" set up and the music was so loud, we couldn't hear each other talking. The atmosphere after that was not at all inviting. The staff ignored us and was clearly catering to a specific type of clientel that we didn't fit. It was clear that they didn't want us there, and after spending a considerable amout of money on drinks that we had to get ourselves, we left utterly disapointed. I think their customer service needs a huge overhaul if they expect to stay in business for any considerable amout of time, considering that it was a Friday night and practically empty. No excuse for their treatment of paying customers. I will never go back and know many people that would have tried it had my experience been good. But since it wasn't, it seems Karma will loose out on lots of business. read more

My husband and I enjoyed our visit to Karma Lounge. We had 2 glasses of Chardonnay wine, calamari as an appetizer, which was a generous size with two sauces, and a mix green salad, which we shared, Crostini Bread with asiago cheese and Balsamic vinaigrette sauce was complementary. Our entrees were Pork Shank, and Breast of Duck, both with fingerling potatoes. Both dishes were very tasty. The music was also nice. We arrived at 7:30 pm on a Friday, and it had several people on the bar side which is where we decided to sit. Some people were talking a little loud over the music, but were not annoying. If you want a quieter dinner, choose the other side outside the bar area. There were several couples sitting there when we were leaving. We placed our entire order at one time, so everything came out in a timely manner but we did leave about 10:00 pm. It was a relaxing evening and definitely a place we would visit again. We also had a Groupon Coupon so we saved about $30 on our entire meal. read more
