So I viewed the menu and decided to try out their pupusa. I payed for one jalapeños and one chicken and beans. The wait time was longer then expected, and they almost gave me someone else's order. The jalapeños was ok, but lacked filling. The chicken and bean I did not like. It tasted weird, so I couldn't finish. The ambiance was way off, and the vibe was not there.

As you walk in, there's a case of bakery-type items along the wall and butter-creme frosted cakes displayed under the order counter. I asked the man behind the counter if they have cooked food. They don't, but he offered me the alternative to what I had described, a torta. If you're as "American apple pie" as I am, looking around the shop, its easy to confuse a "torta" with a "tarte" or pastry. The "torta" here is a pressed sandwich, filled with meat that he called 'turkey ham' (he assured me that it was not pork), onions, tomato, cheese, avocado and jalapeños if you can handle 'em. While I waited for the young lady to make my torta, the gentleman offered me a choice of complimentary baked treat to try. Who here doesn't love a free sample!? Ok! He rattled off some of the names, but had me at cheesecake! I took them both to-go, mainly because, although there was a cooler full of cold drinks and soda, I couldn't find a hint/whiff of coffee in the place. I would've asked but I'd reach my personal 'question quota' with the sandwich. DELICIOUS, by the way! I like that the press left the bread crispy on the outside, soft on the inside and all the sandwich fixins were still crispy & cool-not soggy or melty. The cheesecake looks kinda like a lemon square, has a cookie-cake texture bottom crust and a 'cheese danish' type filling that's nicely browned on the top. The serving is big enough to split for now & later-which I had every intention of doing. But, I mean, who was I kidding?! It was YUMMY. This place is fairly new, so I hope it'll add hot drinks (if it doesn't already have them...) and a to-go menu with descriptions, so I can decide what I want to try, ahead of my next visit.

Handmade flour tortilla folded into a large taco with scrambled eggs, avocado, Salvadoran sour cream, and refried beans. Simply delicious. Walked away with a coffee, tamales, and some of their gorgeous fresh baked breads.

Interior / Exterior My navigation did not find them, but I was prepared so I already knew they were located in Clay Plaza, at the intersection of Clay and Austell Rd. Landmarks - there's an emissions testing garage in the parking lot. The interior was bright and open. The place was packed with folks having lunch. It comes with 'salad,' rice pilaf, beans, and 2 thick flour tortillas. I also ordered a chicken & cheese pupusa for later. I asked if I could substitute the beans & rice for fries. Odd choice, I know - but beans don't always agree with me, so I try not to be too adventurous unless I know I'm going straight home. Lol. I enjoyed my steak. I had an early-morning meeting in Marietta this past Saturday. I live near Suwanee, which can be a…read moredrive of an hour or more. So I ran out the door without time for coffee or breakfast, wanting to make sure I wasn't going to be late. When I found myself near my destination and running a bit early, I looked around for a place to stop and have a coffee and a bite to eat. Fortunately, La Suprema Bakery was down the street from where I needed to be. I tried an almond croissant and a cup of coffee. The coffee was surprisingly decent and the croissant was like a party in my mouth. Not too sweet, not too heavy, and not too buttery. Just bready, tasty perfection with a hint of sweetness. Had it been later in the day, I would definitely have tried some of their other treats. The bakery was lined with case upon case of droolworthy delectables. Now that I've seen on Yelp that there are several other locations in the Atlanta area, I'm pretty sure another visit will happen eventually. I'll let you all know how it goes.
