I first started coming to MLC three years ago for violin lessons for my daughter. Karen Fohr, her…read morecurrent teacher has challenged her to improve while driving her interest at the same time. I can't be more enthusiastic about her method, passion or credentials. She is truly amazing. In addition, Musicians Learning Center has gone way out of their way to be understanding about the business end of things. It's always pleasant to deal with them, and Melissa never tires of my questions when I don't understand something. She's also happy to work around vacation schedules and other general nuttiness in our lives. If I had one criticism, it would be to complain that I wish their office was closer to Holly Springs., which is where we moved to. I recommend them without reservation and encourage you to seek them out for your music learning needs.

Most of the music is age appropriate; Heather succeeds at balancing appropriate dance moves, appropriate music and costumes with student's age. Her location has tons of parking! Studio is exceptionally clean and spacious! Cons Girl tap shoes are the unattractive boy looking shoes. Must buy shoes ONLY from them! There are dance studios that don't require this. At recital students are not allowed to have fun while waiting for their turn to dance. This should be changed. Nothing wrong with kids being allowed to talk and socialize, especially the wee ones! Or better yet sit in the audience while waiting hours for their turn. Still the cons are minor issues and wouldn't keep us away!! Thank you Heather for being the kindest dance teacher we have ever met

I can only think of one month that they were open every week for the class. It usually seems like chaos when we go in there at the beginning of every class. This has not always been the case. Despite the challenges of the pandemic (and in part because of that), she and her wonderful assistant Alan Clark gave us far more attention and instruction than we could have expected through a series of detailed Zoom meetings. As one who was struggling with the technology of a new camera plus LightRoom and PhotoShop, I emerged with much more confidence. Then the trip to Sylvan Heights Bird Park in Scotland Neck, N.C., was the icing on the cake. This reserve, set up mainly to educate the public and protect endangered species, is a perfect place for practicing photography among thousands of beautiful birds, in settings that feel like natural ones. Even the birds seem happy there!

She was hands on, patient, and genuine--the real deal. A couple of years ago I attended another beginner's class and while I wouldn't say it was awful....it was pretty bad. That instructor seemed more interested in showing his own photos than teaching us about our cameras. I loved that she supplied handouts, and a fantastic little cheat sheet. There was a ton of information, and a lot of aha moments. I now know what ALL my buttons on my Canon are for! You will not be disappointed, and I'm looking forward to my next workshop with Mary Louise.
