Great place to eat for celiac people. While in Paris , my family ate there twice. The noodles were delicious with chicken or shrimp, they use gluten free soy sauce.

The food was very bland- unsalted and not spiced well. The chicken in the pad Thai was very dry.

I was first to arrive when they open at 7pm for dinner service, I was kindly greeted by a host and…read morestaff, after being seated and given a menu I told the host in French that I didn't speak much of it. My host then spoke in English and assured me that it's fine. The ambiance of this restaurant feels really upscale this jazzy French music and romantic lighting....tres chic. I started off with the lemon & lemongrass beef salad, which was light and refreshing, lemongrass was not overwhelming, the beef salad was a perfect starter. Next I had the chicken pad Thai, another good choice, the chicken came on skewers and was grilled and seasoned with curry. The pad Thai noodles was al dente and not soggy. Thus far an excellent meal....

Sawadee is acutally quite an interesting one. On the one hand there is Thai food as in real Thai…read morefood and on the other hand there is what foreigners have termed "Thai food" (the equivalent of American "Chinese food" since no one in China actually eats orange chicken or fortune cookies). Sawadee, though not run by Thais so the proper etiquette can not really be expected (though Thais don't always Wai if they are really occupied), in my honest opinion, falls more in the Thai food category rather than "Thai food." The decor is a bit of an explosion of "artifacts" that in moderation would seem quite authentic (though no Thai restaurant in Thailand would actually decorate in this manner). The extensive menu contains many quintessential Thai dishes though spelt somewhat oddly in the English menu. I ordered some of my childhood favourites including "Fried Green Vegetables" (Pak Boung), "Fried Shrimp with Garlic and Pepper" (Goong Tod Kratiem Prik Thai), "Deep Fried Chicken in Pandanas Leaf" (Gai Tod Bai Toey), and sticky rice. Sawadee is not "Thai food." It's mediocre REAL Thai food, that satisfies quite sufficiently.
