    so many cherries!
    Peggy L.

We went cherry picking last weekend and had a wonderful time! During these COVID times, U-pick is a fun activity for the kids that also allows for social distancing and the most concrete reward - delicious fruit! Masks were required at check-in, but while in the orchard they were not required if social distancing was possible. We were given buckets with plastic liners in them for picking. Each person must pick a minimum of 2 lbs, our party had 3 adults and 2 children under 6 so they only counted adults but they may count older children as well. We were directed to a row of trees to start off with, of which trees that were laden with fruit were marked with orange streamers, but we were able to spread out and check out other trees as well. The kids had a blast because the trees were LOADED and were very low to the ground so they didn't need any assistance! They definitely got us over our minimum lb requirement in no time. They also have sour cherries and even some sweet red and yellow cherries! Check in and out was super easy as well and it was easy to social distance. They appear to have peaches and apples, so we will definitely be back for those!

We came to Kappus Farms for the first time this past weekend, after seeing it recommended by others for cherry picking. It's a very nice "no frills" place. This year, a $5 charge per person was implemented to enter the picking fields. My toddler son was not charged. However, unlike other places, this charge is deducted from the total amount of cherries you pick which was nice. There are different sized buckets provided to take out to the orchards, and the price per pound is determined by how much you end up picking. The cherries are delicious, and I felt the price was fair and reasonable. You have the option to get transported to the fields, or take a short walk if you prefer. Everything was clearly marked where to pick, which helped. The staff was very courteous and friendly as well. I definitely plan to make a trip to Kappus Farms an annual summer occurrence!

Lovely,, family-owned and run, cherry farm on the banks of Lake Ontario. Sweet yellow and red cherries are ready to be picked, as are dark red ones at the current time. They even have sour cherries that are used in Persian cooking. U-pick cherries are $3.00 per pound. What's most frightening at first but very interesting, is the audible "scarecrow siren" that goes off periodically in the cherry orchard in hopes to scare away hungry birds! In a few weeks apricots will be ready for picking. In the fall, this farm offers apple picking. It doesn't take long to pick the cherries. Most are low lying on the trees, easy to reach. My friend and I ended up picking up a lot more than we had planned! More to share with our friends and family. Afterwards, we enjoyed July 3rd fireworks at nearby Krull park. A very enjoyable holiday experience so close to home!

Enjoying a perfect day in Niagara County, cherry picking...$3 a pound you pick . .great crop

The family has enjoyed picking cherries here, some of the best sweet, dark cherries ever. It was disappointing though to pull in and see so many signs - IN ALL CAPS - with rules. I'm not a farmer, and maybe they've had a theft problem, but to honest people like myself, it was a bit cringeworthy. AND there is an admission charge for anyone older than TWO. I deduced this fee came about because families with many children were arriving and perhaps the Orchard was losing money via eaten-not-paid-for cherries? The $5 will be credited against your produce picked. Then you have a wrist band attached to you that is cut off after your purchase. No backpacks. No diaper bags. No bare feet (ok that's fine). And more. It just took the wind out of my sails to be greeted by signage of rules and docked with an admission fee. The employees were cheerful and attentive. Clean pails and giant plastic bags to line the buckets were ready for our fruit to go in. A nice utility wagon helped with the haul. After, there was a hand washing station and sanitizer available. The dark cherries were truly delicious. Most found their way into several homemade pies.

Tart yet sweet.. Like an awesome natural sweet tart. We picked over 7lbs, which is easy to do with all the varieties. It's supposed to be $4/ lb 1-10 lbs and once you hit over the 10lb mark its $3/ lb. Best, tastiest cherries around and it's an experience for sure!! We stopped at the NY Beer project for a late lunch on the way home! Go Cherry picking at Singer Farms! DO ITTT!!!

This summer me and one of my cousins and our husbands came back to relive our memories, and the place was just how I remembered. Very friendly staff and service. There is a phone number on their website to call which gives up to date directions in terms of what is available and when and where which is super convenient. At the farm they have quart and pint containers, bags and trays for you to use as you go out and pick. Their fields are nice and easy to find. The fruit is fresh, delicious, and reasonably priced. The trouble is the timing, anyone who has picked before knows there is a small window. Strawberries usually come near the end of June and then cherries, blueberries and raspberries quickly follow. Blink and you might miss it, as soon as the end of the school year approaches, use the phone number so that you don't! Coulters seems to have fair pricing for their fruit. Berries all are purchased by pint or quart, whereas cherries are purchased by pound. While they are delicious and worth every penny, be aware the cherries will add up quickly, they weigh more than you think! If you're looking for a fun day, rewarding when you bring home the spoils, check out Coulter farms. Remember to catch them at the end of June, and bring some sunscreen and water, it gets hot out there!

Between the animals in and our of the barn, the giant sandbox, and the tetherball, this was a great little area to hang out in. They also had a fun basketball hoop in a wagon which sent your ball back every time. That was fun! They had wagon rides, plenty of food and drinks available, and for the birthday party we got a couple of their homemade cinnamon donuts which were delicious. We didn't do any blueberry picking but we will be back for that. However they have the store in the barn which had maple syrup, jams, produce, and so many other great items. We grabbed a few more donuts and a jar of homemade jam. This is a great spot for the family or even just a weekend date. We will be coming back for more soon!

I have been eating healthier thanks to Greg's. I do know that they do not spray the fields with pesticides. With the way the big box grocery stores get their products, who knows what the heck has been done to them. Check out Greg's U-Pick. You will not be disappointed!!

Wanted to bring my 1.5 Year old somewhere a bit more lowkey than the big wigs in town and also wanted to knock out pumpkins and apple picking at the same time- enter Blackman Homestead Farm. It ticked those boxes and also delicious slushies (apple cider and grape) just a missed opportunity for delicious pastries (hmm cinnamon donuts!) We thank goodness read Darlene's review about making a reservation and did that the day of around noon and was able to get in at 330! The reservation is made online and the farm is FREE to enter (amazing) but can't be changed or cancelled, however you only need it per carload, so unless you're bringing another car, you can tack on extra folks. We purchased some apples we picked (it was pretty low in the season to pick off the trees) and some that were all set for you in bins, a pumpkin, some cider, a tiny pumpkin and were surprised by the price. Gently it was not as expensive as I thought. Parking was quick and easy on a later Saturday afternoon, with a quick Hi to the Turkeys, some exploring around the pumpkins and picking some apples we had a good time after about an hour and half. I did noticed that it was well organized and lots of folks did disregard the signs: don't feed the Turkeys (grass) and pick up the apples you drop off the tree. There were alot of half eaten, throw apples on the ground which made me kind of sad. Please respect someone's rules and property, it's so nice to be able to come see the farm for free, I hope that doesn't change.
