I can only give a view point of what it is like to be a dancer performing here. So it is a completely different perspective They cleaned the stage and made it appropriate for dancing. One dance we are performing is African-Brasilian and it is barefoot and the stage was smooth nothing to injure our feet This is a major plus. The University gave us a good dressing room even though it is where the orchestra practices. They were very generous with providing enough water for all the different groups of dancers that they even had leftover bottles for us to take with us when leaving after the show A sign of a good host never let your dancers get dehydrated. They also provided us with grapes cheese and crackers Easy things to digest when you are performing to help you keep going without making you feel full and heavy Just enough to perk you up. The stage manager lighting sound and crew were most cooperative during rehearsal so we could synchronize with each other to provide a really good show for the audience. It is a pleasure working with professional people who want to deliver their best It enables us to deliver more and give our best as dancers After the show there was a cast and after party so everyone could meet and greet because many times during rehearsals and the show we do not get to see what the other groups are performing There was music fun conversation and social dancing to a small live band It was a pleasure to perform at the University for the Folkloric Festival

They informed the parents that we no longer needed to keep close tabs on our children cause, and I quote "they got it" and that they would keep a close eye on the students to make sure they were adjusting well to leaving home. They said the teachers and staff would keep an eye for changes in grades and personality, well that did not happen, at least not to us. It started with poor wifi connection for the students with glitches in their system that caused assessments to get lost. My kid was a straight A student and by the end of the semester she had low Cs and and a F. Needless to say, I was shocked. I know that most of the blame lays on my kid but I wish the school would of reached out to my kid to see what's going on. Now we're struggling with getting the grades up and trying to not lose her scholarship. Praying we don't cause if she does, we will have to drop out.

For starters, This campus is very cool! The Brackenridge manor is breathtaking, the architecture and everything inside is amazing. Little history on this- it basically belonged to George Washington Brackenridge ( which is also named about Brackenridge Park), he made his fortune during the civil war, was president of SAWS and founded San Antonio National Bank. The sisters came from France to fight the cholera epidemic (and also established Santa Rosa Hospital) and were looking for a place to start a new convent, and negotiated 280 acres of his estate for 100k. He didn't think they could pay, but did. Part of the deal was that the estate included every inside- he didn't read between the lines. So, the sisters acquired a very expensive and rare book collection among all other things. It was a motherhouse, a residential place for priests and then a refuge for nuns and priests during the Mexican Revolution. History lesson over. ;) I also got to see the Blue Hole, which is where the San Antonio River literally starts! It was so cool to see. I don't think I've ever thought or asked about where a river starts, much less Our river. It's the source spring for the San Antonio River, when the light hits the water it has a blue tint, and you can see the springs bubbling. The water is supposed to be clear, and you will see fish and turtles swimming too! It's so so so cool!

For swimmers and divers, they have an awesome indoor pool with plenty of lanes, 2 one meter springboards, 2 three meter springboards, and 1, 5, 7, and 10 meter platforms. They have a dive team (Alamo Area Aquatics Diving), a synchronized swim team (Aquarelles), and a swim team (Alamo Area Aquatics Association). The dive team and swim team are not affiliated. I have also seen SCUBA lessons going on in the pool. There is plenty of room for everyone.

As a novice student, you trust is in their hands. 2nd semester, they don't necessarily push the core classes but push the courses you've agreed to per the agreed degree plan. Note some degree plans are not for a novice student. Their intro classes should require remedial intro classes but their systems do not reflect this. As an adult, a bunch of leg work was required. Naturally chiefs of depts were contacted and informed of this dilemma.. As an adult, to have to voice your troubles, the inconsistency, the professors who prefer to discuss their personal lives and not focus on assessments or grade timely (but I guess this is their standard) There are feedback surveys for students, but no matter the issues/complaints/concerns addressed, this professor remains employed. Now due to his procrastination l of not grading. To be contacted on spring break to be told to complete more assignments by Sunday is irresponsible on his part. This has been reported. If an assignment has been submitted but does not appear... that's an IT issue but evidently just falls back on the student. Those student from high school don't always voice their issues or concerns which I'd the main reason they fail or drop out. The purpose of advisors should be able prevent this, right? I've met adults who still don't voice their issues in class. Be It troubles me to see so many not speak up for themselves (im aware of personality types and those who prefer just wing it, then their are our children, or other fam mars trying to start a new career) To fail and waste time and money. There has to be a better way to guide these students. They have a mentorship program but I'm not familiar with how that gets started. Not actually advertised as I figured it out while trying to address this dilemma. Always a beautiful spot. Students more than staff have offered to guide me where to go. Apparently when you hit a certain age, you're not offered a tour or guide of this beautiful campus. If this wasn't a flag on how these semesters would go. To transfer or not to transfer. Not quite as good as the Tobin but decent. The seating is pretty good. I have always been able to find a good spot. The building is pretty spread out but makes a big circle. So it's hard to get lost. This is more than what it costs for a bachelor's degree at a 4 year college, and way more expensive than a 20 month (associate degree) at a local junior college! Imagine trying to pay off a student loan along with trying to make a living! A 2 year college would cost just under $10,000. Dental Hygiene for example growth outlook is only 7%, as many dentist only want to hire oart time and no benefits. $87,000 is not worth it. You might as well become a dentist if you're going to spend that much.

Go to used book store to find the books used. You will do great if you put in quality studying, practice exams online and don't second guess yourself. Don't argue with professors just keep your eye on obtaining the RN license!! drama is NOT worth it.
