My mother is such a hard stick sometimes with bloodwork and (I can't remember the phlebotomist I believe) name, but he had such good energy and was very friendly which took away from the stress of the experience. She is one of the most ethical, kind, patient, and caring doctors I have ever met. She is incredibly passionate about holistic and preventive medicine, especially metabolic health. She taught me that medicine should never just be about money. It should be about caring for the person in front of you. Even after my rotation, I have heard so many times from her patients and other preceptors how lucky I was to learn from her. Her patients truly love and trust her, and I completely understand why. She listens to their stories, remembers the little things they tell her, and makes them feel genuinely heard. I still return to the clinic because I genuinely want to keep learning from her. I know that every time I am around her, I learn something new and become a better physician. My parents and I will always be grateful for Dr. Anamekwe. I scheduled my appointment for 3 whenever I got there. I didn't know where to go so I had called and let them know. I am here for my appointment. I just don't know where the office is and they informed me that my appointment was actually at 2. Even though as soon as I had called them, I had my Notes app ready to write down the date and time. When I got put in a room, the staff who was asking me questions wasn't asking the correct questions. She kept back peddling and having to ask different questions after she asked the wrong ones understandable accidents happen mistakes happen we are human. Even though the staff members weren't very professional I stayed to be seen by the doctor. As soon as he walked in the room, he stated "you're way too young to be here" and not in a joking manner. More in a sense of why are you here at 21 not really the best way to be greeted by a medical professional. Even so I spoke with him about what might possibly help told him what was hurting how it was explained that I have received treatment. I have MRIs and everything and I explained to him I have three herniated disc in my neck alone before he ever did a physical test he had told me I'm going to prescribe you steroids along with stomach medicine to help with nausea that comes from the steroids. After he stated that he said, " you're depressed, aren't you?" and I am informed him yes, but I am going to a therapist for it. He proceeded to then ask, " would you like me to prescribe you antidepressants as well?" that statement alone coming from a pain management doctor is concerning in my opinion, especially after they heard that I am going to a therapist for my mental health. After he asked me that question and obviously I said no he started the physical test had me rock in a straight line to the wall and then told me to bend over and touch my toes. I turned my back towards the wall. I was maybe a 2 feet away from it. And bent over as soon as I bent over, he had came up behind me and put his hand on my back the other hand on my shoulder without warning, he bent me back further than I can even bend, and then proceeded to feel my stomach, and then put his hand on top of my head and used a good amount of force to the point where I was physically, unable to stand up straight due to him, forcing my head down he was compressing my neck into my shoulders and he did that for a good few minutes while moving it around still with the same amount of pressure. I left in more pain than I walked in with. I will never go back here and I suggest anyone near my age does not as well because apparently he only cares about elderly patients.

They always call to check on my daughters after they come in. They are very proactive. There is a well child waiting area and a sick waiting area which is great. Minor negatives: she seems to be fond of prescribing a nebulizer for any type of cough for many weeks. Gives out suckers and popsicles as treats and has the TV playing in the waiting room even though all the literature they give out says to limit TV and give out very few treats. The girls love that part though, just seems hypocritical to me.

First, my gripe of all gripes regarding doctors; there was literally one other patient in the office and yet it took almost 35 minutes for me to see the doctor AFTER I was all registered and done with the paperwork. Almost a full hour after my appointment time! My primary doctor is a very well known doctor in Dallas and has been in business for many more years than Dr Leslie, so he has a patient list that is probably 3x the size of Dr Leslie's. But I never have had to wait there as long as I did in Dr Leslie's office, especially when there is no one else there! To top it off, I did not care for his manner as it seemed I was taking him away from something for the total of 8-10 minutes I spoke with him. Five of which was spent with him just reading to me all the info I had JUST filled out in the waiting area. I assumed he had looked that over before he came in to see me, but as it turned out that was the first time he was looking at it. What had he been doing this whole time? Now, I realize doctors do other things between patient visits and such. I just had the distinct impression that as slow as this office was, if I were to walk around and look at 3 or 4 computer monitors in that office, I would see a lot of solitaire, facebook, travel websites and online poker. I have only been one time and everyone is entitled to a bad day. It just didn't seem as though anyone other than the front desk person (can't remember her name but VERY nice) was doing anything but trying to get a paycheck and do as little else as was necessary. Maybe if you have chronic respiratory problems like emphasema or something, then Dr Leslie warms-up and you become a "regular" and the atmospere is better. But if you're here looking into sleep apnea, don't waste your time or at least don't have high expectations.

He has a fantastic bedside manner, spends time discussing my condition when I am ill and gives me treatments as needed. One of the huge bonuses is his staff. His congenial and helpful staff is what caused me to go ahead and give five stars. The wait in his office has never been too long for me. So far I am very happy with Dr. Leslie and his office. For someone who is aware they will be dealing with lung issues for the rest of their life, and whose condition will only deteriorate with age, Dr. Leslie is a treasure.
