That's when I learned of King Bee. Masinag seems to be the nearest to our place... even if it's really far away from us. For Sunday lunches with our clan, we go all the way to Masinag to pick up lunch. That's exactly what we did today. Our usuals are their Yang Chow Fried Rice, Sweet and Sour Pork, Chopseuy Fried Noodles, Hakaw, Asado Siopao, and of course, Jumbo Siopao. These dishes from them never fail us. Their hakaw has the most shrimp I've ever seen inside a hakaw. The Jumbo Siopao is a mix of bola bola with egg, chorizo, shrimp, and mushroom. I've tried something similar from other places... and King Bee's is still the best.

It's disappointing. I come to the Philippines every few years and like a good time with my parents. But this was terrible. Then the server lied when my dad asked why my order never came. She said I never ordered it. After taking my order, she actually followed up a little later to tell me that my vegetarian dish was still coming. At that point every other order was done. Then it still never came. My dad rightfully gave her a piece of his mind and said it was unacceptable. But she still lied and told him I never ordered. Again it's unfortunate. They should train their servers better and let them know how to give good service with a good attitude. Among my staple orders from Hap Chan are the dim sum, yang chow fried rice, and fish fillet in garlic. In all these years, the quality has stayed the same and the prices have been at par. Hap Chan in Silver City took the place of Cafe Mondial, a bar I would frequent in my early 20s. I have a lot of memories and non-memories (aka I was drunk and technically don't remember what happened but I was there) from the place, and now it's Hap Chan. That's always a bittersweet thing. I don't blame Hap Chan, though, and am happy I get to have a decent meal at this place with some history of my wasted youth. They got rid of Mondial's terrible bathroom at least; there are tables and seats now where that used to be hehehe enjoy your meal :)

Reminds me of Binondo eateries. Better than I expected from a place that looked like what it looks like. I don't think they actually cook the rice in the clay pot like they do in Hong Kong, but that would be expecting too much. We also had the Spareribs Tausi (P140) - this was good but nothing too different from what you'll find in Binondo dimsum restaurants. The best dish we had, for me, was the Laksa Noodle Soup. The noodles were not soggy, the spicy, creamy and sour flavors were balanced - the whole effect was delicious. This is the dish I would recommend someone try. IMPRESSIONS I wasn't particularly impressed by the looks of the place. It looks like a neighborhood eatery. As for the food & drinks, I was surprised that they had imported sodas/drinks! The food was actually pretty decent and delicious, more than acceptable for its price range, and reminds me of Binondo eateries. This is not a high-end place, but it's clean. I don't know if there are any other Chinese restaurants in Antipolo since I'm not from there, but if you just have a craving for claypot rice, laksa, or Chinese sodas and beer, you could try Mogu Tree. The menu is a bit limited to claypot rice and laksa and a few dimsum dishes, but it's authentic in the sense that it feels / tastes like a Binondo eatery.
