I've recently come across some free time, and was looking for painting supplies as opposed to models as I have lots of unpainted guys. I cannot recall the name of the fellow working there who introduced himself to me. Sorry. We even had a 10 minute conversation, and I can't recall his name. The store seems to be modelled after a GW layout, with lots of gaming tables in the front with full scenery to get your attention Having been to a number of comic book stores that morphed into gaming stores it was so refeshing to walk into a non-GW gaming store that was clean, uncluttered and did not smell. They had a small RPG section in the store, but that's not the crux of their business. There's a tonne of Privateer Press and GW product in the store. They even had Warhammer Fantasy Battalion boxes in store. My wallet started to drool. Anyways off to the painting stuff which was why I was there. They had Vallejo Game, and Model, and the airbrush versions too. I believe that there was GW paint as well. They had a couple of the bigger Vallejo paint sets (the $300+ ones) but I wish that they had the 8 and 16 bottle sets They also carry Citadel Paint Really liked the store. I'll definitely come back in the future. Plus its closer to my house than the two that I recently reviewed in Brampton.

There are some small racks for the weeklies, and a few racks of trade paper backs, and other books. But, this is mostly about buying Funko Pops, and t-shirts, and other things. The prices are not competitive, but I suppose it is the type of place where if you know you want... something... and you need it right now, it's the place to go. It's just not the type of shop for me, anymore.

I saw graphic t-shirts on sale. What stopped me in my tracks were a ton of plushies. It has a good selection of Squishmallows. If you love Funko Pop figurines, you will find a wall full of them and more. It was impressive. I spent a good chunk of time checking them out. I particularly loved the R2-D2 and C-3PO ones. I was delighted to find Grogu Funko Pops. One was a keychain, which I had to purchase. The other was a larger one by the checkout area, on the top left shelf. It looked amazing. I'm sure it costs and arm and a leg. The man at the checkout was friendly and chatty. I signed up for the newsletter. I'm still waiting to see what that's like. There's supposed to be a rewards system coming up. Nice! My Grogu keychain didn't have any tax on it. Sweet! I love it. I paid with a credit card. The transaction was smooth. It was such a small item that I put it in my pocket. I thanked the man and left the store and mall, walking a while to get to my car. I will return to this store. I'd like to get the R2-D2 and Grogu Funko Pop figures. (48)

Games Workshop, or GW for short is a UK Based retailer, and manufacturer of table-top wargaming…read moregames, paints, and supplies. In the 80s, they were also aligned with the D&D crowd, so I've always had a fond spot for them. Besides who can deny dwarves in outer space? (though space dwarves are no longer a gaming option!) In the late 90s to mid 00s GW had a great rise in North America culminating with a Canadian Head Office, and a Canadian Insert in the Monthly White Dwarf Magazine. A lot of their locations were in prime retail locations - Mississauga's Square one, and the Toronto Eaton Centre for example. Enter the financial crisis and GW was hammered hard in the marketplace. Both the Canadian and American retail offices closed, and GW closed a lot of stores, and moved into big box locations located near residential neighbourhoods. This store is part of that new strategy, I believe that this store opened in May 2015. I've been told by staff that this is essentially the Square One store moved to this location. I think that the store is physically larger than the Square One location, a little bit narrower, but much much deeper. Well I've rattled off a history lesson so far, not a store review. I've been here at least 6 times in the last year. Its easy to sneak in when you promise your kids ice cream from next door if they come with dad to GW first. I'll focus on my two visits in the last three days. Last night I pulled into the parking lot with my 5 year old and teenage daughters. My five year old blurted out "Not this nerd store! All they do is paint, and play a game where you won't let me touch the little men" This was the girl who 5 minutes earlier told me that she loved to paint. *sigh* My teenager refused to go in, even though I kept telling her that all of the teenager boys in the store would let her win, because she was an attractive girl and they'd be oohing and aahing over her beauty and painting skills. She instead suggested that I leave them in the car and go in myself. *sigh* So after last night's humorous sound-bits I'll focus on my Thursday visit. I visited around 2pm, and it was fairly quiet, as most of the customers were either still in school or at work. There were a couple of customers painting in the back. I should admit I don't play Warhammer. I just like to paint the stuff. I used to use it in my d&d games, but someone else DMs now and has his own minis. I loved reading the battle reports in the old White Dwarf magazines. Store layout is fine. There are a series of tables running up the middle of the store that they use to play and demonstrate the various games there, with product lining both walls. It was good for Grant to relay the direction of the lord of the rings product lines to me, since I have a number of them Grant came over and we conversed about the game, chatting about Age of Sigmar, and how my existing models could be used in the game. He offered to show me a demo of the game, but I declined as someone else at the store had played a demo game with me on a prior visit. The bigger thing that he showed me was the new paint range released about a week ago, and demonstrated results and offered some suggestions on how to incorporate them in my existing products. A couple of things I do like are: - GW staff are now accepting that not all of their customers play Warhammer, ten years ago this was not the case - its a very clean, kid friendly environment in the stores - having a kid who is on the autism spectrum, Grant was able to suggest which times the store would be quieter on the weekends, and therefore more conducive to getting my son into the store

If you're ever in Mississauga and not trying to travel all the way to Toronto I would recommend this place for playing board games with your friends or if you're looking to purchase games, as they do have a wide variety of selection to choose from. I went on a Thursday afternoon and it wasn't busy at all. They did look like as if they were restocking the place but I'm not too sure. They have a small cafe as well as a place to play board games and dine in which was cool. I ordered the matcha latte which you could choose flavours from: strawberry matcha latte, coconut matcha latte, plain matcha latte, and more. Overall, I liked the place and would definitely come back to dine in or play some games.
