So a total sum of £3,015 (inclusive an overpayment of £60). At that time, I made arrangements with Caledonian's owner, David Howie, for my belongings to be shipped to Germany, where I now live.I paid Caledonian £2,280 by wire transfer for the shipping, which Mr. Howie confirmed in an e-mail sent 9 May 2016 that he had received. My belongings were scheduled to be shipped in June 2016. They never arrived. I of course followed up with him extensively, to the point of emotional exhaustion. Mr. Howie stopped answering e-mails and wouldn't answer the phone when he recognised my number. Eventually, I reached him on the telephone and he claimed that everything had been in transit, but that due to the Brexit referendum, his drivers had all cancelled and refused to take the shipment. He also gave me a personal sob story about his business being in trouble and that he was really no longer in the moving business, rather only storage, but that he would see this one shipment through and I needed to just give him some time but that he *guaranteed* I would get my belongings back. I never heard from him again. I tried here and there to reach him, but he never answers the phone and ignores all e-mails. Once, I caught him on the telephone and he again spent a long time explaining his woes and that he's in a period of difficulty and that I just needed to be patient. It has now been years since I have been trying to get my belongs back. Quite frankly, my depression over the loss of so many family treasures - paintings by my grandmother and great-grandmother, a four-poster bed that has been in the family since the 18th century - has had me paralyzed with inaction, scared that if I "upset the apple cart," that I would never see them again. I guess at a certain point I stopped participating in the futility of the exercise, as it only worsened my pain. Somehow he has managed to get away with the theft of tens of thousands of pounds worth of furniture and heirlooms. The financial loss is nothing, however, compared to the sentimental loss. This was everything I owned in the world. There is not a day that goes by that I don't think about something I used to have and will never see again. I don't know how Mr. Howie can live with himself.

A disgustingly bad service…read more We moved in October 2020. The removal men did not have the correct allen key to take apart the dining table. Instead, they chose to take the dining table down a narrow back alley, which scraped the top of it. The company admitted it is damaged 'beyond repair.' The removal men also refused to take the sofa down the one-flight of stairs. Instead, they chose to move the sofa via the window of a one story flat. They did not have the equipment to do this, so 'balanced' our sofa on top of our extended hoover. This resulted with the sofa frame cracking and damage to the leather. They also refused to cover any of the large items of furniture in their van, resulting with further damage to the dining table and a trunk. We have photos of the awful removal service, including our sofa hanging out our window balanced on our extended hoover. The company admitted responsibility and said they would be 'retraining their staff in moving furniture.' However, they did not apologise and would not provide a refund or compensation for their damage, due to their neglect. The only action they would take was an insurance claim, which covers less than half of the value of the furniture. Avoid this company. They are disgustingly awful.

I should not have to pay a cent for being terrorised by their staff while they intentionally destroyed my belongings. The day started off to a bad start and it set the tone for the day. While the younger gentleman was politer throughout the day, he immediately took a poo upon arrival and it stunk up the flat we were trying to clean and move out of. The older gentleman was in a very foul mood and seemed very angry and was cursing loudly the entire morning. Everything was fuck this, fuck that, for fuck sake... I had to work the next day and set aside a bag for an outfit to work in that he packed away and wasn't sure where he put it. I should have put the bag in my husband's car prior to their arrival, but didn't expect it to pack up quickly since it was a small bag in a back bedroom cupboard. When I asked where the bag was he violently ripped a box open, cursing loudly for fuck sake! He threw things that were in the box on the ground in a very aggressive manner. I became very frightened and said it's ok I will find it when we get to the new flat, don't worry. I left the room and from across the flat I could still hear him swearing and slamming my belonging. He continued to violently slam boxes and loudly curse until everything was packed into the truck. The real estate agent that we sold the flat with is based in rural Stirling and we had to drop off keys in Dunblane before we could go to pick up keys in Glasgow. The main road to Dunblane was closed and the alternative route was very congested. We received a phone call about midday saying they were at our new flat. We explained the situation and told them we were just outside Stirling and we wouldn't be at the new flat for at least another hour and suggested they relax and take a leisurely lunch. They seemed extremely irritated they would have to wait to enter the new property. We also called the office around 1pm to explain we were getting to the new flat as quickly as we could. We were told by our solicitor that the sale and purchase had gone through and the money had left bank and should be in the account of who we bought our new flat through. We explained this to the estate agent, but they could not get a hold of our seller's solicitor. They were in meetings and could not be reached and they wouldn't give us the keys without confirmation from their solicitor. My husband called the movers and explained the situation, they got extremely angry, screamed and cursed at him on the phone and hung up on my husband. At this point I spoke to the office and explained where why we didn't have the keys yet and were trying our best to get them. They were more polite when we eventually arrived at the new flat, but it felt forced and false. I was heartbroken to continue to see my boxes slammed and thrown about. The older gentlemen picked up small boxes labelled "glass fragile" a threw then violently with all of his might from one end of the truck to the other. We could hear glass breaking from inside our flat with the windows shut as he continued to throw every single box labelled "fragile" as violently as he could. We helped unload the truck as well just to get the move over with as quickly as possible and to try to prevent our belonging from being damaged further. I had small boxes labelled fragile glass and items wrapped in bubble wrap. I have only unpacked a few boxes but have found about a dozen broken things that were wrapped in bubble wrap and labelled fragile glass. We do not feel we should have to pay to be verbally abused, spend our moving day frightened by the staff and have our belongings purposely smashed to bits. I have moved dozens of times including seven international moves. The move with Clockwork Milngavie, was by far the single most stressful move of my life. I request a full refund, but was only given a partial refund after waiting 2 WEEKS for a manager to "investigate" the situation.

AZ Movers - Disgraceful Service, Broken Promises, and Ongoing Stress…read more Avoid this company at all costs. What should have been a simple, professional home move turned into one of the most frustrating, expensive, and mishandled experiences we've ever had. AZ Movers failed us at every turn -- from logistics and communication to care and accountability. Despite providing full inventory details and videos in advance, the van sent was far too small. To make matters worse, the team that arrived had already been working for over 15 hours before reaching us -- fatigued, rushed, and clearly not in a position to manage the job properly. We weren't consulted about what would be moved versus stored, and initially AZ Movers tried to charge us storage fees for the items they couldn't fit -- a completely unreasonable demand. They later waived the fees, but only after causing considerable stress. On top of this, we were forced to completely alter our move schedule, arriving in London at 9 AM instead of the agreed 3 PM, which meant driving through the night. No apology. No flexibility. Just more pressure on us to accommodate them. The situation only worsened from there: A lamp worth £225 was broken -- no resolution to date. A table arrived missing legs and fixings -- £499 replacement cost. A second lamp smashed -- £150-200. A large plant and pot went missing -- approx. £100. Additional furniture was damaged. Final delivery was delayed. Due to AZ Movers' failure to move everything as agreed, we had to hire a private courier at our own expense (£587) to bring down the remaining items two weeks later. Even then, not all items were handed over -- dashcam footage and photographs confirm that items were missing from what AZ had stored. We have been more than reasonable. Despite the multiple issues, we agreed to cease any further claims if AZ Movers simply reimbursed us the £225 for the broken lamp. Even with this incredibly fair offer, we are still receiving delayed, evasive emails -- and no payment has been made. We've now informed them that if funds are not transferred by Friday, we will be initiating a Section 75 chargeback through our credit card provider. AZ Movers advertise professionalism and a stress-free experience. What we received was chaos, carelessness, broken belongings, additional costs, and still no resolution -- weeks later. Think very carefully before using this company. If we could go back, we would have hired a van and done it ourselves. It would've saved money, stress, and most importantly, our belongings.
