We found the Clockwork movers to be incredibly unprofessional and to be frighteningly rude. It was completely unacceptable. I should not have to pay a cent for being terrorised by their staff while they intentionally destroyed my belongings.
The day started off to a bad start and it set the tone for the day. While the younger gentleman was politer throughout the day, he immediately took a poo upon arrival and it stunk up the flat we were trying to clean and move out of.
The older gentleman was in a very foul mood and seemed very angry and was cursing loudly the entire morning. Everything was fuck this, fuck that, for fuck sake...
I had to work the next day and set aside a bag for an outfit to work in that he packed away and wasn't sure where he put it. I should have put the bag in my husband's car prior to their arrival, but didn't expect it to pack up quickly since it was a small bag in a back bedroom cupboard. When I asked where the bag was he violently ripped a box open, cursing loudly for fuck sake! He threw things that were in the box on the ground in a very aggressive manner. I became very frightened and said it's ok I will find it when we get to the new flat, don't worry. I left the room and from across the flat I could still hear him swearing and slamming my belonging.
He continued to violently slam boxes and loudly curse until everything was packed into the truck.
The real estate agent that we sold the flat with is based in rural Stirling and we had to drop off keys in Dunblane before we could go to pick up keys in Glasgow. The main road to Dunblane was closed and the alternative route was very congested. We received a phone call about midday saying they were at our new flat. We explained the situation and told them we were just outside Stirling and we wouldn't be at the new flat for at least another hour and suggested they relax and take a leisurely lunch. They seemed extremely irritated they would have to wait to enter the new property. We also called the office around 1pm to explain we were getting to the new flat as quickly as we could.
We were told by our solicitor that the sale and purchase had gone through and the money had left bank and should be in the account of who we bought our new flat through. We explained this to the estate agent, but they could not get a hold of our seller's solicitor. They were in meetings and could not be reached and they wouldn't give us the keys without confirmation from their solicitor. My husband called the movers and explained the situation, they got extremely angry, screamed and cursed at him on the phone and hung up on my husband.
At this point I spoke to the office and explained where why we didn't have the keys yet and were trying our best to get them. They were more polite when we eventually arrived at the new flat, but it felt forced and false. I was heartbroken to continue to see my boxes slammed and thrown about. The older gentlemen picked up small boxes labelled "glass fragile" a threw then violently with all of his might from one end of the truck to the other. We could hear glass breaking from inside our flat with the windows shut as he continued to throw every single box labelled "fragile" as violently as he could.
We helped unload the truck as well just to get the move over with as quickly as possible and to try to prevent our belonging from being damaged further.
I had small boxes labelled fragile glass and items wrapped in bubble wrap. I have only unpacked a few boxes but have found about a dozen broken things that were wrapped in bubble wrap and labelled fragile glass.
We do not feel we should have to pay to be verbally abused, spend our moving day frightened by the staff and have our belongings purposely smashed to bits.
I have moved dozens of times including seven international moves. The move with Clockwork Milngavie, was by far the single most stressful move of my life.
I request a full refund, but was only given a partial refund after waiting 2 WEEKS for a manager to "investigate" the situation. read more
