Include me as another fan of Kandu. Although the place looks (and smells) like a bygone disco-tourist trap stuck somewhere in 1971, it's almost romantic - in a kitschy tropical vacation, if not humorous kind of way. Apart from the decor, one can tell a lot of effort goes into the authenticity of the condiments and overall recipes. The food is really pretty good. We ordered most everything and all were winners. I imagine this would be a fun first date choice - but only if diners are both laid back, looking for some one-on-one alone time, and into uncommon ambiences. I've ordered in food from here, and so far it's my favorite Persian food in Dusseldorf. It tastes great. My faves: Kubideh plate w/ the grilled tomatoes and saffron rice with an additional appetizer of the Mirza Ghassemi. Out of this world. Maybe one day I'll stop by the actual restaurant! read more

Great family owned restaurant. The atmosphere was very cute and dimly lit with beautiful Turkish decor all around. The lamb kabob skewers are TO DIE FOR. seriously it's the best meat I've eaten for a long time, the meat was so tasty and nicely tender , where it cut so soft , but the taste melts in your mouth. It is so savory and will leave you MORE than satisfied. I also really enjoyed my lamb stew that I ate like a curry with my rice. The hot sauce tastes good and the tea to top it off was the best finishing touch. I also ordered the second item of appetizers on the menu( with the fried onions on top) which tasted great with the bread and the garlic yogurt he hands out. read more
