I've stayed here a couple times while I'm on a ski trip to loon. The proximity to both the main lodge and south peak is very convenient as is access to restaurants (common man next door). It's definitely more vintage New Hampshire decor which I like and the value for the prices is hard to beat. Check in and logistics with staff are always smooth. Booked a double room on Friday and Saturday night to get an early start on a hike out to the Bonds from Lincoln Woods and Saturday and a place to crash afterwards. The host was very friendly reminding us of the accommodations' extras such as pool, restaurant - which serves breakfast, bar which hosts live entertainment, free in-room coffee and to just ask if we needed more. The location is PERFECT for hikers! The room had all the necessary items (coffee maker, refrigerator). The beds were very soft. The road noise is prevalent. We kept the a/c on fan mode on night #2 and it kept all noise out. This is an inexpensive lodging option with all the comforts and a great location. read more

A getaway for my husband's 75th Birthday, for two nights. AC worked fine, great water pressure, plenty of hot water for our showers, comfortable bed. The frig kept our beverages nice & cold. The balcony we used for playing cribbage. Plenty of restaurants close by, you can walk to the Common Man. We did the Cog Railway, Cannon Mountain Tramway, the Basin, Clark's Trading Post. We did not use the TV, the restaurant or the pool. We would gladly stay again. read more

What a lovely spot, in the heart of Lincoln. We were welcomed with a friendly face and Valentine cookies. The pool was a perfect way to beat the February chill. This last visit here will be my last unfortunately. I've been going here for many years because it was a good "mom and pop" business, it was affordable and the location is good for walking to places. But they are not keeping up with repairs it seems, as my bathroom floor had a hole in it next to the tub and there was old water damage that hasn't been repaired. The bathroom door had to be lifted up to latch it due to the top hinge being loose. A top sheet on the bed had what looked like a piece of candy on it, and it looked like it went through the drying cycle or two. And they don't enforce their own rules... They allowed a group of bikers to set up two pop up canopies with tables and grills in the parking lot, blocking other guests to park at their rooms. Forget about enjoying a relaxing time at their bar (CJs), the A/C isn't powerful enough to cool the area down, so you're hot all the time you're there eating. Don't order the margaritas there, they are more a "mix" than anything else. read more

Loved the time we spent here! The manager, Danielle, is a warm and caring person. She was so responsive to our situation, going our of her wait to meet our specific needs. We really enjoyed the indoor pool -- it is a great way to relax after a long car ride! The location of the Lodge is fantastic -- easy to access all the amenities of the area. We really appreciated the affordability of the place. It is not fancy (we don't need fancy!) but very nice and clean. Owners are very accommodating, location is great. We stayed here over 30 years ago when our kids were young. But, after a recent stay, we won't be back. The mattresses have to be at least 30 years old, sagging, and you can feel the springs. Nothing but the carpet has been updated. Moldy ceiling in the bathroom, Rusty shower curtain rod, gross a.c. unit.....sorry to see this happen. Hopefully, owners will remedy these issues. read more

The Kancamagus Lodge was a wonderful choice of accommodations when I booked a recent weekend getaway trip for my birthday. Having bought a recent Groupon for this establishment, I was more than pleasantly surprised to find that this affordable lodging was far better than I anticipated. The hotel, run by the Marien Family, is a small but at the same time spacious facility located a stone's throw from Loon Mountain. Though I did not stay here during the winter season, I imagine this place books quickly due to its proximity and convenience to the mountain. It is situated on the main stretch of road in Lincoln, NH and is close to many other local attractions including Alpine Adventures ziplining and the Woodstock Inn & Brewery. Just minutes from I-93, staying at this location also places you very close to many wonderful hikes and natural sights within Franconia Notch State Park. Aside from location, the lodge itself boasts several outstanding amenities. On-site dining includes Brittany's Cafe and CJ's Sports Bar & Grill (the cafe of which was excellent). There is also a large indoor pool, game room, outdoor playground, and fire pit available for guest's use. I stayed in a Deluxe Balcony Room and was presented with a spacious double bed room, complete with refrigerator, flat screen TV, air conditioning, and steam bath. The room was quite clean and comfortable, decor a bit dated. From the shared balcony, the bf and I had unobstructed views of Loon Mountain's facilities. The main office area has an abundance of brochures for local attractions, free Keurig coffee, a computer, and a microwave. Keeping in mind that this place is not designed to be a fancy five star hotel, I found the amenities to have gone above and beyond what I expected. What makes this place so special is the attentive and caring staff. We were warmly welcomed upon arrival, thoroughly assisted with activity ideas when plans to zipline were foiled from poor weather, and genuinely thanked for our stay on departure. Our room was cleaned promptly during our short trip out hiking and well-stocked with towels and toiletries. Everyone had a smile and were interested in what they could do to improve our stay. I would certainly stay here again in the future if occasion called for it. You can't beat the good 'ol genuine hospitality delivered at this establishment. read more

Our 1st time there. I would not recommend staying here. The beds are unbelievable hard and the pillows are flat and hard as well. The room we had was a standard room. Very outdated. The shower felt like i was being sprayed by a power washer! You can hear everything around you including the traffic that drives buy all night. It was clean. But very uncomfortable. Especially for the price we paid. For a little bit more we could have stayed somewhere much nicer. No curtains on the windows just cheap blinds that didn't close completely.very thin blankets that were old on the bed. I was very disappointed. And a moldy shower curtain!!! First - the office staff is VERY helpful and positive. Eager to make guests happy. Second - - location is great. I have a hard time sleeping, and though this is on the main road, noise was NOT an issue. There are very good restaurants and stores nearby. Third - - We enjoyed having happy hour on the balcony. Having a fridge was great. Fourth - - While the rooms are clean, they are VERY dated and consequently didn't seem clean. Our room had VERY old bedspreads, and carpet. For the price of the rooms...... perhaps the owners could change these out. read more

This is my first visit to the kancamagus lodge. I frequent this area, normally staying here two to three times a year and each time I try a new place. I could've gotten the place I stayed at last time for less money, which I really enjoyed and provided a lot more for my buck, but I figured I'd give this place a try due to the website and pictures and how it looked. Let me begin by saying that their photographer works miracles because it was very deceiving. It's portrayed as a rustic getaway in this serene environment. Truth be told...it sits within a fork on a main highway and a side street. The rooms are TINY. Two double beds and almost no room to walk around them. A dresser, a mini fridge on the floor and a tiny TV on the wall makes up the over priced, out dated room. I can't believe the cold air rushing in around the door and windows. The room is freezing even with the heat cranked. There's no heat in the bathroom, that makes for a fun shower in February. The beds are like rocks. Everything in the room screams 1980s. The window on the backside is street level with the highway and all you hear is tires on pavement all night. The walls are very thin also and had to tell my 6yo that the people next door were wrestling. The parking lot is small. Barely enough parking for the people staying there. Did I mention the lot is also like an ice skating rink? A little salt and sand would go a long way here. I ventured down to the indoor pool. Arctic plunge anyone? I think the water temp could've been brought up a few degrees or twenty. There is no hot tub. Let's get to the restaurant on the property who's website says they're open Saturday and Sunday from 12-3pm for lunch. We go at 12...closed. I ask the main office what's up and I'm told they've never done lunch.???WTF??? In a nutshell....I won't be returning here. I can get much better accommodations at similar and even cheaper rates at other facilities nearby. read more

Immaculate and Friendly! This lodge is set in a great location. It is walkable to the downtown dinning and shops. Though the fixtures and furniture were a bit dated, it was sparkling clean and comfortable. From the bed to the water pressure, everything was great. The ladies at the front desk were friendly and helpful. Other lodge amenities include an indoor pool, game room, basketball courts, fire pit, laundry room, a restaurant and a sports bar. Small, cozy place with thin walls. Doors do slam and people do walk down the motel walkway, but, for the price, a great place. Also most folks go to bed tea only early and the traffic dies down early as well. Next to route 122, extremely easy access to Loon and the shops, restaurants and stores in the town of Lincoln. Dated rooms but clean and well appointed with TV and mini fridge. Two restaurants/bars on site along with a large pool make this an easy choice for a quick ski trip to Loon. read more

My family and I love coming to The Kangamagus Lodge! This year marks our 3rd year in a row coming. The rooms are always so clean, and the staff is very friendly. We LOVE the indoor pool. The pool is also very clean, and relaxing with a few tables and some chairs to hangout on. We come in April or May every year so it's pretty cold, and not a whole lot to do. They also have a nice little area to play basketball, a game room, and a place to have a fire. The atmosphere is very homey. The rooms are all decorated so cute with a mountain, cabin like theme. If you come here on off season like we do, they offer a nice VIP price too. Overall I highly recommend this place. It's now a family tradition to go here! read more

The stay at Kancamagus Lodge (gosh, I'm misspelling it even when I'm staring at the name) was top notch in every way. We had a Groupon for 2 days ($89) during off season and Nicole was very flexible in accommodating to our schedule change for reservations. The lodge was quite big in size. The room was very very spacious and immaculately clean. We were right next to the indoor pool and the on site restaurant Brittney. The pool was gigantic for a hotel. The lodge faces the mountains but is only a mile from the center of Lincoln town. Very convenient for doing activities in town and grabbing a bite or two. The staff was wonderful, they were energetic, friendly and ever so helpful, including the super cute doggy at the office Sam. The weekend we spent there was quite raining but staying at the Lodge for most of the time was relaxing and exactly the getaway we needed. Will definitely be back! read more

I love the lodge feeling of this building and rooms. However the room is on the smaller side and I was sharing it with 2 other people. The decor is super rustic & tons of moose on the bedding and picture on the wall. The bathroom is a decent size and over all the room was very well maintained and clean. What I do think was a very good idea was there are two windows and two doors. One is the main door to the room and the other is to a private balcony, that has a table and chairs over looking the highway. read more

This place is so great. My bf and I drove up from Philly with another couple for the weekend. My friend found this place on Yelp and heard lots of good things so we decided to give it a try. It's so close to everything we wanted to experience. The staff is so friendly and helpful...even if they did poke fun at us being Eagles fans, lol. I called to book this stay one month before we were to stay. I said I wanted a room with two beds and a nice stay. they gave us a Crappy room that was super outdated up a flight of stairs. The bath tub is from 1970 and had hair in it still. We got take out and realized there wasn't a microwave which I totally would have paid extra for if we had known we had to. definitely not worth the money. read more

We went up to Lincoln for a three day trip, and weighed the various options for places to stay. The Kancamagus Lodge was the best value for the dollar - it's not a fancy five star hotel, but it's not supposed to be. When we arrived it turned out to be a better than we had hoped for! Spacious, clean rooms were nice, and the upgraded bathrooms were a pleasant surprise. It was also good to have new thin-screen digital TV sets. Like many hotels in this price range, it was not totally perfect; one of the two rooms we rented was a little musty. There is a nice outdoor play-set for the kids, and an indoor pool for the entire family. The restaurant was nice - it even had some vegetarian and vegan options, which was very much appreciated. We had several dinners and appetizers; it was good food all around (Ok, the beef tips could have been better.) The little touches were nice: The motel's free Wi-Fi reception was useful, and their free Keurig coffee made each day that much nicer. The intimate lobby had a lot of useful info on the area, and a computer that people could use to check their e-mail. We didn't get to use their fire pits to make s'mores - but perhaps next time! The best part about the lodge would be the owners/staff: they made every effort to make us feel welcome, and to meet our every need. That kind of friendly service is hard to come by these days, and it makes your trip to the Kancamagus a good choice to make. read more

Spent two days in the area, on a whirlwind assignment profiling ski resorts. One of them was Loon Mountain, just up the road from the Kancamagus Lodge. An older property in the midst of updating, the place was clean, quiet, and central to everything, about a mile from Exit 32 off I-93 in Lincoln. Nearby are restaurants, Loon is 2 miles away, and the local owners are accommodating. They knew I needed a dependable Wi-Fi connection as a writer on deadline, so they put me next to the office (and wireless router). A nice touch and I appreciated it. This was probably the best deal for the time of year, and within $5 of The Comfort Inn. I prefer Mom & Pop's to bland corporate properties (unless it's a Hampton), so I went with the Kancamagus. I will tell you that if you are a "freak" about older hotels and you need all the modern conveniences, this probably isn't for you. For me, it was having a comfortable bed (check), a quiet place to touch down to do some quick writing (check), and having restaurants nearby I could walk to was also great. They do have a flat screen TV, which I never turned on. Oh, and a small dorm refrigerator in the room, too. The bathroom was very small, barely big enough to turn around in. It had the enclosed plexiglass shower enclosure that brings out my claustrophobia. It was immaculately clean, which was a plus that somewhat offset its tininess. I'd guess that if you were hitting Loon for the weekend and more interested in skiing, and hitting a restaurant after a day on the slopes, and then crashing and doing it all over the next day, this would be a great option. One great perk I wasn't expecting--their indoor pool is great! Not an Olympic-sized, but a full-sized pool for hotels, I got to get in an abbreviated swim (I'm a tri-athlete and swim twice a week). There's something about swimming, even when sleep-deprived and cranked up on caffeine that centers you. It also provided a late-afternoon boost I needed (sans caffiene) that got me over to North Woodstock to experience the Woodstock Inn Station & Brewery for the apres ski review part of my story. There is also a restaurant on the property, Brittany's Mountainside Food, and a bar--C.J.'s Penalty Box that make it possible to never be more than a 2 minute walk from your room. I didn't visit either, so I don't have anything to share about them. read more

Stayed here for a weekend ski trip and I find it to be a really great place to stay! First the pluses. Location. It is right across, like 200 feet from the Common Man restaurant (read my review). It has a sports bar that has a pretty good draft selection and free darts. Also a pretty good cafe for breakfast before hitting the slopes.The parking is right in front of the room door is great to unload/load my ski/board gear. It has shuttle service to Loon is about 2 miles away. Cannon about 20 minutes away. Minuses. The room is bit small with two double beds. The coverings are from the 80's era which could be updated. The bathroom is also small. I was fortunate enough to stay at a great price with a ski package for two nights, so I can't really complain. But other than that, it came out ahead for location and they do have a modern HD LCD TV on the wall and the shower was steamy hot. It is also very clean - room and bathroom. I would stay here again since it has a great location and walking distances to PJ's bar, Brittany's cafe and the Common Man Restaurant. read more

Our Deluxe room in the separate West Lodge was spacious and clean. Swam in the pool after a dinner at the Restaurant Brittany's on the premises. Good food there and convenient. Purchased a S'mores pack to use at the fire pit. Fire wood was supplied by the lodge. So nice to sit around the fire at night. Leo the owner met us at the front desk. When I asked him if there were cups in the room he said yes and I replied I was ready for a glass of wine after a long trip. When I went back to our car to go to our room he ran out with a wine glass for me. That's service! No complaints about this place. It's worth the inexpensive price. It's not a fancy resort but perfect for a family who wants a nice, guaranteed clean place to stay in a convenient location. read more

Stayed here for a night while passing through- a delightful surprise! Although the room was open to the outside (think motel), we felt safe and comfortable. Room is a bit dated, but we didn't come to hang out in the room. We couldn't find a campground that wasn't full in the area at the last minute, so we just needed a place to rest our heads. We made use of the full size indoor pool which was huge and warm, as well as ping pong which was so much fun! It was cloudy outside, but this place would be prime to sit outside on a clear night to stargaze while making use of their firepit. Had breakfast at Brittany's- omelet and choc Chip pancakes were both delish and fair priced. You can sit inside or out- very nice and fun/country like environment. For dinner, we didn't want to spend too much money (otherwise The Common Man across the way looked appealing but $$$), so we walked across the street to a neat burger spot. The staff were so friendly when we got there. They let us know where everything was and that the owners were up the road if we needed anything. Room was very clean but outdated. Good if you just need a place to sleep. However, it was quite loud being above the sports bar as people were leaving drunk and yelling at midnight. As well as young boys below us making a lot of noise from 6pm to 12pm. It isn't to big of a place so I guess there's no way to avoid people who are loud. Probably would try another place if we were to return just due to the noise level at night. We had the king balcony room which was cool because you could see the ski lift and people going down the mountain. There were a lot of food options nearby as well as dessert places. read more

My boyfriend and I stayed at Kancamagus Lodge for 3 nights (Thurs - Sun) for a ski getaway for the two of us. We are so happy we chose Kancamagus Lodge! 370 for three nights - how can you beat the price!? It was perfect for us. We had a queen bed with balcony room. The room was very clean and cozy! The bed was clean and very comfortable. The shower was amazing after a long day of skiing!! (Lots of water pressure, and Steambath was great!) The view from the balcony was beautiful. We loved that the pool was open late, and that there were 3 restaurants that are just steps away. Had a wondeful breakfast at Brittany's, they have breakfast cocktails too which was a plus! We visited CJ's for drinks and appetizers - had a fun atmosphere! One night we ate at the Comman Man just across the road and had a nice romantic dinner. We also loved the central location to Loon, as well as Cannon Mountain. We skiied both mountains, Thank you to Leo for the $10 vouchers for Cannon, and for a great stay at the lodge! My boyfriend and I stayed here this past weekend (weekend after Thanksgiving). It was a little hard to find because our gps took us to the wrong address, but we eventually found the place. I go in to check-in and gave the manger, maybe even owner, my last name. He knew off the bat who I was. I thought that was a nice touch. He was super friendly and told us all the little secrets of what's the best to eat and to definitely take the shuttles back and forth at night, especially if you'd be drinking, because cops always sit near the lodge and will pull you over, especially if you have a Mass. license plate. The shuttle was $5 per person each way, but it was worth it. We get to our room and it was very cute! It felt like a bedroom that was out of a nice, little cottage. It was very clean, which is a big plus. The beds were actually comfortable. Usually, hotel beds are the worst. But these beds were not bad at all. The view of the mountains were kind of cool. There was no snow or anything, but it was nice to still be able to see Loon. The shower was probably the only thing I could complain about. The pressure of the water was way too high and it hurt... a lot. I don't know if you could've changed it and if you could've then I had no clue how to. All-in-all, I'd definitely love to stay here again. read more
