Me and my wife were travelling to Ghent over New Years. After we planned poorly and had no reservations for dinner on NY eve we went searching the area for an open restaurant. Kanazawa was open and had a special hibachi dinner with a few locals inside. The staff was helpful and extremely accommodating My is pregnant and they went out of their way to ensure her food was cooked thoroughly and provided alcohol free Champain for her during the new Years celebrations. the dinner service was great with Maki, Nagiri, lobster, beef and rice noodles. All cooked on the table in front of us in the typical family friendly fun hibachi style. We had fireworks outside and a toast after words. the menu was a little pricey, but the food was endless. I pride myself in my ability to eat, and i was absolutely stuffed by the end! from the road the restaurant is in a strange almost suburban area but the warmth of the staff and the food more than made up for it. Recommended if your staying south of the downtown Ghent area. read more
