Actually, it was somewhat fortuitous that I wandered that the street and discovered this place, even though it has been on my radar for a little while. While it is not necessarily a beer bar, you can buy beer here, but then again I still struggle to find a bar that doesn't sell beer (unless of course it is a whisky bar, but then again they also sell beer, or at least the ones that I have visited do). As for the bar, first of all it does get pretty crowded, but it still has a pretty decent atmosphere so I will give it some credit where it is due.

The setting is nice, minimal and modern, but definitely with a Japanese flair. The service is fine, the sushi bar looks fine, everything is accessible. The first thing we noticed (as frequent travelers to Japan) was that they did a proper table setting and later, the starters that came with our dinner were also what we are used to getting in Japan. This is nice, considering most places don't put so much thought into it, or even bother. The sushi was perfect, as was the chicken teriyaki. I am only giving this restaurant a 3-star rating for three reasons: 1- it was overpriced. 2- the menu was underwhelming. When I say this, I mean that it was VERY traditional and had no imagination. Most of the options were prixe fixe, and although there were many to choose from, there was not a lot of room for personalization. 3- an addition to 2- customers can NOT order sashimi a la carte. I trust NO sushi restaurant the first time around, and was not about to leave my chirashi or sashimi choices to chance. This place is definitely a good one, albeit a bit on the expensive side for what normally costs FAR less in actual Japan. If you just want really great fish and not too many frills, definitely go here. But if you want crazy rolls and Tekkadon, best check the other options.

So yes, Tokyo Sushi was completely valid in that situation. Good place for a fast dinner with a "regular" japanesse food. There are some special menu for groups. Also, It is good option for 8-9 peope too. More people may be excessive. The food in the limit but ok.
