I went in today for…read morea routine cleaning, but after wasting 20 minutes of my morning, they flat-out refused to provide any service because I declined dental x-rays. I made it clear I didn't want or feel the need for x-rays, and as a patient, it's my right to refuse them--plain and simple. Informed consent and patient autonomy are basic rights in healthcare, yet this office treated me like I had no say. They wouldn't even perform the cleaning without forcing x-rays on me first. No real explanation beyond "policy," no discussion of alternatives, and zero respect for my decision. This feels like nothing more than a blatant cash grab--pushing unnecessary radiation exposure and extra billing instead of focusing on actual patient care. The staff couldn't (or wouldn't) explain anything properly; they just see patients as dollar signs. Poor communication, zero empathy, and a complete disregard for patient rights. Signature Dental Group (and their "gentle" approach--ironic) is a joke. I will never return, and I strongly advise anyone reading this to go elsewhere. Find a dentist who actually listens to patients and respects their choices instead of strong-arming them into procedures. Save your time and money--avoid this place at all costs.

Thankfully, I went with my gut on getting a referral while I was pushed to go to his guy and was extremely rude when this was requested. Not cool when you are a patient with so many options out there. It was discovered with my referral that was a deep rooted problem (not pun intended) with their technology that my issue was way worse than his oral surgeon would have ever discovered with would have caused major health issues for me. Save yourself from a terrible experience, save your teeth and don't let him rip you off! Ask your family and friends for solid referrals. The Emergency Center I tried was using up all my insurance plus expecting me to charge lots of work...when ALL I wanted was 1 tooth out of pain! I didn't feel comfortable with the work this Center was proposing and had started! I heard the entire conversation. Included in that conversation he told the receptionist to hold the 3:45 appointment open for me and he told her that I would call her as well. As soon as I left my dentist's office I called Dr. Eskoz. All I got was an answering machine. I left a message saying who I was and I was confirming that I wanted the3:45 appointment and I left my phone # for them to contact me. At 3:45 I arrive at Dr. Eskoz office and went to speak to the receptionist and explained who I was and that My dentist had asked that they hold the 3:45 appointment for me. She said, "no he didn't" She may not have realized it but I heard him say that. She then told me, (in a rather snotty manner) that Dr. Eskoz was not in this office today and that I would have to have been at the appointment at 3:15 any way. I then explained that I had called several hours ago to confirm the appointment but I only reached an answering machine. So, I left a message. She then told said, "We've been very busy all day, we haven't listened to our messages." Is it my fault she didn't listen to the messages?! Especially when she should be expecting a call/referral from another dentist. The only reason I can come up with for making a new appointment at this dentist is that I was in bad pain and felt desperate. The appointment was for 2 days later! Thank goodness I had some pain killers left from my regular dentist to get me through. I arrived early for the next appointment. When Dr. Eskoz came in he explained that he would put me on an antibiotic and not start the root canal until the following Tuesday. I knew I would never make it as far as pain. I could not function already and I told him so. He prescribed some more pain meds. I was not happy but felt I had no choice. On my way home I find I had a message on my cell phone. The receptionist said Do not fill the prescription, do not take that medication. Apparently they felt there was possible problems with another medicine I was taking. I called the office back and got the receptionist but the office was closed and everyone else had left. I told her I can not possibly go through the long weekend with this pain (Thanksgiving weekend-4 days, office closed). She said she would call Dr. Eskoz and get back to me. Dr. Eskoz never got back to me. He didn't care that I was facing a long weekend of horrible pain. I filled the prescription anyway. I had already used this pain medicine with out any negative effects and I could barely stand the pain WITH this medicine. I think it was the following day that the receptionist said I could come in one day earlier, Monday afternoon instead of Tuesday afternoon. BIG WHOOP! I asked if Dr. Eskoz can't get me in any earlier than that, would he give me a prescription for something else? She said, " No, because you took the other medication when he told you not to, he won't give you anything. You can take Advil." So.... now he feels he has to discipline me for not wanting to be in pain while he goes home to his family for the Holiday weekend. Had he been a compassionate person, which in his line of business he should be, he would have called me back with another option so that I too could enjoy the weekend. He could have opened up the tooth right away, at that appointment. Yes that would have taken 1-2 hours but that would have relieved me of the pain. I'm venturing a guess, but I think no one wanted to delay their plans for the weekend. Who cares if a patient is in pain. Even if everything else had gone smoothly, I have to say, there is no warmth with any of the girls behind the desk. The one was downright cocky. People are imperfect and make mistakes. But this was bad attitude and selfishness.

I went to Dr. Faubl for a tooth that was infected & causing pain & one that was already loose. Both teeth needed to be extracted which I had no problem with. Since one was a front tooth, I wanted to replace it for cosmetic reasons. The other was a back tooth which I decided I was not going to replace. For the front tooth, Dr. Faubl did a fixed bridge consisting of a false tooth attached to two new crowns fitting over the existing teeth on either side. The cost for this procedure was $3,999.99 before a discount from a dental saving plan purchased directly from Dr. Faubl. The cost after the discount plus the cost of the dental plan was $3756.99. Upon the recommendation from a good friend, I have since started going to another local long-time dentist. Out of curiosity, I asked this dentist the cost of the same procedure for the missing back tooth. To my amazement, my new dentist quoted a price of $2,870.00, which is more than 28% less than the full price from Dr. Faubl. Of additional concern is that Dr. Faubl said that I no longer need to take an antibiotic prior to dental work to help to prevent infection since I had a prior knee joint replacement. However, my new dentist insists that I do take an antibiotic prior to dental work & wrote a Rx for it. I know that Dr. Faubl will say that this is no longer recommended, but I rather be safe than sorry & wind up with a serious knee infection. (I was talking to a good friend about this, & he said his brother got a serious knee infection from not taking an antibiotic prior to dental work.) By the way, before going to Dr. Faubl I was going to another local dentist for many years but he sold his practice & retired. But I continued to go there for routine dental work & saw most or all of the dentists that bought the practice. The last dentist that I saw there quoted a price of $2,700.00 for the fixed bridge procedure, also after a dental discount plan. I did not have it done there because I did not really care for, or have confidence in any of the dentists that bought the practice. However, they did have me take an antibiotic before most dental work.

So we skipped it and her appointment went smoothly. I had my teeth checked, cleaned, and polished and it was very relaxing and thorough. I appreciate it when I can just sit back and let the Dr. work and go. I would've loved to have my teeth x-rayed, but next time will do. I had this office as my primary provider and that was removed when the office did not renew their registration, or whatever is required. She tried to blame me stating this would not have happened if I had selected them as the primary provider, but I did that months ago and this was removed when the office became unregistered in Aetna's portal. Then she tried to blame Aetna and I'm caught in the middle. None of this was known by me until the day before my appointment. Am I the only patient using this provider? Why was this last minute? I scheduled this appointment 4-5 months ago during the busiest time of the year for me during the only time I could go for the next few months. Instead, Jasmine just canceled the appointment without my approval instead of trying to find a common sense solution. I was then given the option to pay out of pocket or try to get reimbursed later by Aetna. The office should just defer the payment and take the risk instead of me considering that I didn't do anything to cause this chaos. She made me call Aetna to try and sort all this out and essentially wasted a few hours of my day while I'm trying to work. Now I have no appointment after taking off this afternoon previously. I must find a whole new dentist because of how poorly she handled this situation. I would never go back to this office simply because of this encounter.
