Located on the street with a bunch of Indonesian restaurants, Kampoeng is one that stand out from the crowd! Having walked by this restaurant many times, as well as having tried some of desserts from their storefront, I'm not sure why I never went in to try their food before.
Kampoeng is located downstairs from their mini market at street level. Surprisingly its quite large once you enter the restaurant downstairs! Also somewhat nicely decorated.
We tried the Nasi Campur Rendang, which was basically a meat dish with three different types of curry, with some vegetables, and rice. And the Nasi Campur Kampoeng, which was Chicken mixed rice. I gotta say that both dishes were pretty good! Having eaten at a few other Indonesian restaurants nearby, this one was the most tasty. The chicken was very tender and full of flavor. The Rendang was also quite good, being served with three different curries was a nice touch.
Overall Kampoeng is a pretty decent place for Indonesian food. A restaurant with plenty of space is also a rare find in Hong Kong, so I will definitely come back here on a hard-to-find-dinner night! read more
