Gel and shellac are very similar in regards to how they are applied. Exposure to UV light in both methods occurs. However, I read that shellac is a bit more gentle and easier to remove and not as damaging as gel. The biggest pitfall seems to be that shellac manis don't last as long as gels. Moving onto the actual place... They didn't have a black shimmer polish available, only plain black. This nail salon is in a plaza adjacent to the nearby Walmart. Ample, free parking. I'm not sure I will be returning because it wasn't relaxing hearing multiple children screaming & crying at dentist office next door. Also, twice during my approximately 45-minute walk-in session, a male employee came up to my nail tech and conversed with her for several minutes, disengaging her attention with the sharp cuticle trimmers she was using on me. Tip may be added to card transactions. My total on 9/13/2022 was just under $33.

Nails Now came to my rescue after a botched job at another Hobbs, NM salon…read more Since my walk-in with a nice young woman on 11/20/2023, my nails are still strong and in great shape. No bubbles. No issues underneath my nails like before I came in. My dipping powder was $50. Though that seems steep to me, that is Hobbs's rates. My tech was gentle and didn't grind my nails down unnecessarily like that last salon. The only things I view as pitfalls: - parking kind of sucks in their plaza - limited colors (I wanted a rich, more glittery red) - the salon could use some deep cleaning (like most Hobbs salons) Aside from the traffic, it's in a great location across from Albertson's Market. Close to other great businesses. Cash accepted.

The VIP pedicure is a little pricey, but WELL WORTH the price!!! Cindy is my favorite!!! Cindy also does my nails!!! She never turns down my ideas! She is so great!!! Her partner, Luca, is so talented! He will help with my super crafty nail art. The employees there really work with me on my schedule. As, at some times I am unable to go early enough to get my toes and nails done before close. I think it's amazing that they gladly stay a little past close for me!!! If you're looking for a facial and massage, Mari is simply amazing!!! I always get two hours and finish wanting two more hours!!! She is so attentive to my needs and focuses on what I ask for!!! I ALWAYS tip very well because they truly deserve it!!! I strongly suggest you tip them well, too! Keep that fire lit!

RATING BREAKDOWN Manicure: 5 | Service: 4 | Ambiance: 4 | Price: 3 PARKING Ample, free parking at the Dal Paso Center on Dal Paso Street. LOCATION/AMBIANCE This rather large nail salon and spa is situated in the Dal Paso Center, which is a really great plaza on the northeast side of town. When you enter, there are manicure stations to the left with a separate room to the right where pedicures are done and more manicure stations are set up. Highly recommend that you wash your hands before your mani... they appreciate it. MANICURE For my first ever gel manicure at Classy (12/2/2022), I chose #522 Pomegranate for holiday vibes. It's such a beautiful color. So many compliments. LITTLE YELPER'S CLUB I'll update the services for youngins... SERVICE They actually have people working here! Lol... And they actually seem to enjoy their job. I really loved Yuly's work. I would definitely request her again even with a slight language barrier. The hostess was a bit strange at times. Looking forward to a more welcoming attitutde next time. MY FAVORITE PART... The cleanliness of the salon. Plus... I'm super tough on my nails, so this one of the longest lasting gel manicures I've gotten in this oilfield town. NOT SO FAVORITE PART... The pricing. They are by far the most expensive in Hobbs. I paid $53.40 with a card for a new gel manicure (and removal of an old one). TIPS + Walkins welcome. + Appointments available... call 575-942-2544. + Gift certificates available. + "100% sanitization guaranteed."

I got the feeling he didn't want to be there, and sure enough, after he began the pedicure he half heartedly went through the leg/foot massage, and was not even paying attention to what he was doing. He was watching a TV that was on a wall a few feet away. The pedicure was rushed. It was not enjoyable at all, and not worth the extra money for the massage. I had previously been to this salon maybe 3 times before then, and was hopeful for a good experience. But no. It was always a let down. No plans to return there.

So they put me with a younger guy who I had seen multiple times before doing the reception work... while he admitted that I was only like his second ever client, I took it with a grain of salt and proceeded to have my dipping powder mani with him. It took around two hours for him to finish. Within a week I started having issues due to it being layered so thick. I wish I had said something to him, but I also believe in letting people "live and learn." The place was not that clean back in June. Elite Nails & Spa in Hobbs recently debuted their grand re-opening…read more It's in the same plaza where Big Lots used to be (and apparently might resurrect). They accept walk-ins, so I did just that on 3.28.2025. Paul was my manicurist. He used to work at Nails Now. Because of their re-opening, they offered 30% off all services so the refill of my acrylic nails was $39. At first I chose Cinnamon Whip. There was way too much orange undertone. Not at all like their sample! Graciously, Paul offered the samples again and I really loved #879 "Sunset Suede." He finished in about 45 minutes. It's not low-end, but it's certainly not glamorous inside. Somewhere in between as the place could use repainting and some chairs without rips. I'll probably return at least one more time because Paul gives my nails a more natural look.

I knew I wanted gel nails and a pedicure. She told me to pick my colors and have a seat. I didn't wait at all and was soon getting my pedicure started. The technician took his time and did a really good job. At the same time, the other technician was working on my manicure. After years of getting gel for my nails, my nails today were finally very weak. She recommended me dip powder and it was such a cool process to watch. I did pay so much more then I'm used to paying. (Nail salons are so much cheaper back in AZ) I paid $28 for the basic pedicure and $40 for the dip powder. The service was great though and I will be back again.

Diamond Nails and Spa is located at the southeast area of the Albertson's Market plaza…read more I walked in today (5.6.2025) because I need a refill on my acrylics. It was by far the cleanest nail salon I have been to in Hobbs, NM. A lady next to me told us that they recently got new chairs at the foot spa area, I presumed. That being said, while my manicurist (a guy) did a decent job, I was a bit disappointed with some of the shaping after a closer look. Plus, I should have gotten two coats of color instead of just one, but lesson learned. My price was $50. It's also not the most relaxing environment with all of the employees chattering so much, but I have been in worse places. At least they were friendly. The manager, maybe owner, complimented me on my shapely physique. "You looked 18 from behind." Ah ha! It was a bit flirtatious for my liking, but I appreciate the honesty as I have been working on toning my body. I'll be back in a couple of weeks.

Time 4 Nails…read more.. *sigh* Still time 4 me to find a nail salon I really love in Hobbs, America. Back on November 4, 2022, I was accepted as a walk-in at around 9:30AM. I was out 50 minutes later. My nail technician was engrossed in her phone at the very beginning. I suppose she thought I was going to take longer to choose my polish color. She did a good job trimming, filing, and the rest... she just really had an interest in her phone that morning. Numerous times during my session. One thing that was super funny... she was nice about it, but she had me wash my hands twice. Once after she finished sanding off my polish and filing, then after she massaged my hands with lotion. Lol. I've never had that happen before, but I appreciated it. It cost me $40 for gel removal and a new gel mani. Plastic was accepted. They use Square so if you're signed up for mobile texts there, you'll get your receipt texted to you. That's a bit steep. I didn't pay nearly that much when I lived in the Los Angeles area a few months ago nor did I get them reshaped. The huge stepback for me is their grimy facility. It's almost like an oilfield shop when you walk in - it's that dirty! Also, the parking lot is a bit crammed as there are other businesses in this small plaza.

Wore glasses. Not the smoothest skin for a face. He asked me who did my nails last and I rather liked her. In fact, I will request her next time. She usually sits at the front and also wears glasses. Has short hair and is a bit older than the other ladies who work here. He wasn't rude, but he acted like he could make my nails "more natural." Well, he sure grinded them down more than anyone else in my life has. His technique for dipping was interesting. Actually I hated it. They looked fine, but bubbles started appearing right away and there were some other details that should have been caught for freakin' $60.
