St. Vincent Charity Medical Center - Dr. Deborah Blades, Neurosurgeon, located on 3rd floor.

Doctors/surgeons are always hard to review on Yelp for a plethora of reasons. But Dr. Deborah…read moreBlades, Neurosurgeon at St. Vincent's, is an angel on earth. If any back/spine/neck/nerve/head issues apply to you, get a referral (she is referral-only for new patients) and make an appointment with her immediately. She will find what other doctors probably failed to find and be able to help get you on the right path quicker then anyone else could. Pay out of pocket if you have to. I've never met a more thorough, compassionate and innovative doctor in my life that's first response isn't just to cut you open. Let's start with something important: her office informed me she runs late because she spends a lot of time with her patients. Sounds, fair right? Most doctors run late. With Dr. Blades, I had an 11am appointment with a requested 10:45am arrival. I wasn't seen until almost 3pm. Yes, you read that right. Next time, i'm bringing an arsenal of snacks, my laptop, and a pillow to snooze in the exam room. That was a long time. I felt very drained by the time it was my turn. But once Dr. Blades got to me, and we concluded our appointment, I didn't care. I would've waited all day for her. I've never hugged a doctor in my life until her. She'll spend as much time with you as you need (she doesn't rush) and won't try to just prescribe meds and send you on your way (like many doctors often do). She really studies everything and even went out of her way to personally make a few calls to doctors she thought would be of benefit to me. If you seek a doctor for any of the above, you know how draining this sector of medicine can be. I wish I found her sooner and I hope this review will help others find her more quickly then I did.

You can pack on the salad for under $5. They have a weekly menu to take with you or you can print it off from their website. They have many options besides the salad bar... fish-breaded/fried or baked, burgers made to order, veggie burgers made to order, a daily soup, prepared sandwiches... it is a nice change from fast food or an expensive restaurant in the area. The fresh choices always get my attention. Most hospital's cafeterias are full of canned vegetables and applesauce... bravo! Thank you for the great work lunches. You will need to park at a meter, my coworkers and I carpool and this makes the parking easier. I have never tried their breakfast foods, but my coworkers claim it's fabulous and tastiest in the area... the French toast and grits are their favorites.

However, Health Concious Diners will be pleasantly surprised at the low prices; the low salt, low fat, gluten free menu variety, and the tasty food selection. My favorite dishes are: the daily variety of hot soups (and salt free Keebler crackers), the Salad Bar, the grilled Hamburger and Turkey Burger station, the Pasta Dishes offered and their delecious Hot Wings. Additionally, for breakfast, I enjoy their French Toast, Scrambled Eggs, and Hot Grits (which are some of the tastiest in the downtown Cleveland area).

My numbers were all WAY out of the normal range. The doctor called from a number that doesn't ring on my phone for some reason. When I called the doctor back (multiple times again) the phone just rings and rings and nobody picks up. I eventually was given the doctor's email address. Again, multiple emails and again no reply. In the meantime all my numbers are through the roof along with some other concerning side effects that I needed to discuss with the doctor. Gabe at Cleveland Health Group assured me that he would personally handle the matter and that I would hear from the doctor the next day. Well, 2 days later and no reply from the doctor. At this point I informed him that I'll be going elsewhere since it is clear that my well being is not even remotely a concern of the Cleveland Health Group. As long as I'm paying my monthly money they couldn't care less. I DO NOT recommend them to anyone. Their actions are rude at best and incredibly dangerous at worst. DO NOT USE CLEVELAND HEALTH GROUP. Do your research and find a place that cares about their patients. This is NOT the place.

I asked if the nurse practitioner could call in zofran to my pharmacy since it is a covered prescription under my plan. I was told she would call me later that day to speak about that as well as my side effects. She never did call me and I was feeling horrible so I called right before closing to see if I could speak with her. After explaining my situation to the receptionist, a man named Mike comes to the phone and I once again explain how I'm feeling. He was beyond rude and said if I feel bad I should come up and purchase zofran at the desk. I explained it's covered by my insurance and I live right by my pharmacy. He told me oh well, she is too busy to be calling you back, she has clients that are a priority. His words exactly. So I wasn't even able to get professional advice about my symptoms and what to do from here. How is this a medical clinic? Combating side effects is not a "one size fits all approach" and I definitely should have been able to speak with an NP about how I was feeling. The fact that I was told "she's probably too busy to call you back" and "has clients that are a priority" is the most absurd approach coming from a medical clinic. It was very clear that all they wanted me to do was be quiet and spend more money to try and get relief. The fact that an NP is not able to call in a prescription is pretty suspicious behavior. Nor able to call one back with medical advice about relief and maybe switching dosages. It's clear this business is only in it for the money. One can easily get these meds delivered to them and don't have to deal with rude, disrespectful people. Mike is one of the worst people I have ever met in my entire life. Customer service skills are important in this industry, how was this allowed? I'm sure the NP got my messages and weeks later never called me. They deserve zero stars and the owner should be ashamed that clients are treated this way.

From our first visit to our last, my son was in great hands. Kelly was our main OT and was amazing with both of us. He was always happy to visit -we drove 40 min each way to see her - and the staff was always friendly, the office always clean. We were provided several photos, diagrams, measurements, etc over our course of treatment so we could watch our son's head progress and the technology was just amazing to help my husband and I see/understand. As for the helmet itself, my son never seemed to mind it. It was lightweight and was only worn 2-3 months. We joked that it protected him from bumping his head several times so perhaps we should just let him wear it permanently. :) I'm the type of mom who is very picky and researches everything for her son, and despite that, I would happily recommend Cranial Technologies in Cleveland to any parent! And ask to see Dr. Kelly. You won't be disappointed. :)
