Great doctor, horrible office staff…read more We started seeing Dr. J (that's what everyone calls him because his last name is so hard to spell) 5 years ago, when he still had his own office. Appts are every 3-4 months and while he always runs late, that's because he takes his time, listens to the patient, and discusses things with them instead of dictating. Even though a normal appt takes at least 2 hours, we were okay with that. So we decided to recommend that one of our sons become his patient now that he's at Ulrich, which is really close to us, and his own PCP had just left the practice so he had to find a new one. We've had nothing but problems ever since, and none of them are Dr. J's fault. The first appt our son had was 3.5 hours! Son had just used up the last of his scrip and needed a new one, but they won't provide one until you've seen the doctor, so we were forced to stay until we did. We were literally the only ones in the office when we left - it was so late the rest of the staff was gone. Dr. J was exhausted and not really able to deal with everything we wanted to talk about so that will have to wait. When we talked to the staff the next time we went, they said it was a normal wait time! We know for a fact that wasn't true in the past, and even if it NOW is, then it's the fault of whoever does scheduling there. They all know that Dr. J takes his time and ends up running late (they even told us that, like it was our fault for "not knowing" and being upset), which means they need to stop scheduling patients so close together. A couple hours we can handle - he's the not the only doctor we have who does that. Over three hours is unacceptable. Add to that the fact that we always end up having to call for results they told us they'd call about, appt time screw-ups, and just general not being on top of things, we are now looking for a different doctor for both of the people who go to Dr. J, which is a shame because he's a great doc and not the problem here.
