I had a broken front tooth two years ago. I saw Dr. Kaiser for an implant which was completed during a following appointment. Unfortunately, the color of my temporary which I had to wear for a couple months was way off, and since it was my front tooth it was quite noticeable. This was an expensive procedure without dental insurance. I had my regular dentist affix the permanent replacement a couple months later which was an additional cost and not an unusual event. Everything looked good and Dr. Kaiser asked me to come back a year later to check the implant. This was all included in the original cost. At that time Dr. Kaiser said everything looked good but he'd want to see me again in a year. The following year I noticed that the implant had caused the tooth next to it to move. I also received a reminder card asking me to come in for a two year check up, which I could only assume was still part of the original contract. Shortly there after I was shocked to received a bill for $88. I had just been to my regular dentist a couple weeks prior for a cleaning, exam and x-rays which again I had to pay full cost without insurance. When I called Kaiser's office I was told that this last visit wasn't included in my initial contract and that the doctor had given me a exam. I was never told that I would have been charged for this visit. If I had been told, I would not have seen Dr. Kaiser again. After all, my regular dentist had just examined and x-rayed my teeth and told me everything look great. The office insisted that I was responsible for payment. I will eventually pay because I don't want them ruining my credit. However, I have a friend needing full mouth implants and had been talking to Dr. Kaiser about this at my last visit, but I will no longer refer anyone to this dentist. read more
