First off, you can tell everything about a restaurant when you ask for the green sauce. This is the signature green sauce everyone asks for especially at taco trucks! The kind that burns your tongue and makes you regret even looking for it!!! So delish! We were seated at a booth right away and our order took less than 10 minutes! The plates were hot out the oven oh my goodness!! So yum! You know your gurl got burn marks hahahaha Honestly, I've been in this area for 13 years and I have always seen this restaurant- which is in the Fiesta parking lot... So I always thought it was a little rundown or sketchy. I am so glad I finally gave it a try today! The inside was so welcoming! I'm low-key kind of sad that I never gave it a chance sooner. It is so charming on the inside and very intimate and great Mexican music. The cheese on the enchiladas were melting, and it had the perfect gravy. My son ordered the beef fajita quesadillas and totally finished his plate. Seriously, Rosenberg has great Tex-Mex selections so put this towards the top of the list!!

Service is great, along with the cozy atmosphere. The food is good but some of the dishes for a Mexican Restaurant doesn't make sense. Mozzarella cheese is not a Mexican cheese choice I would have made to put on Mexican food! The refried beans are creamy but this time a little salty! Lunch plate chopped beef fajitas were good but couldn't tell when I asked for corn tortillas if they were corn or flour! My wife got the lunch plate chicken fajitas and she also said refried beans were salty! Chicken was dry with not much flavor. Her flour tortillas look like my corn! Wasn't are best meal there! But you would have to try them out for yourself!

The Asado is unique to find in the Houston area. I have an aunt who makes it, homemade, in West Texas. I brought her here and she approved so that is how I know it's good Asado. The restaurant is always busy but they are on top of it. They have enough staff always and lots of room for seating. Their decor is colorful so you definitely feel like you're at a Mexican restaurant, but I highly recommend it regardless! This time we tried something new at the table, which was the fried fish and it was delicious. For some reason, I didn't snag a picture of my dad's tostada with beef fajita, but I did taste the meat and it was very good as I am picky about the beef fajitas that restaurants serve. Also, if you like Texas sweet tea, they got good sweet tea here. If you want a drink, you'll definitely see a lot of margaritas flowing around and the Michelada's are actually pretty good as well.

The regular salsa was fresh and flavorful, but the green salsa was the standout--it had just the right amount of kick without being overpowering. The guacamole also tasted fresh and was a perfect addition. The taco meat was well-seasoned, flavorful, and not greasy at all. The beef fajitas arrived sizzling, and while they only came with onions (no green peppers), the steak was fresh, tender, and not fatty. The black beans were absolutely delicious, and the Mexican rice was plentiful, well-seasoned, and a great complement to the meal. The kids enjoyed their tacos, rice, beans, and burrito, and everything came out hot and fresh. The strawberry lemonade was refreshing and not overly sweet. The restaurant was clean, the service was friendly and attentive, and our drinks stayed filled throughout the meal. My sister-in-law and her husband had recommended Gringo's after dining here before, and now I understand why. Great food, generous portions, and excellent service--we'll definitely be back
