You choose your meat, sauce and veggies from a buffet-style serving area and then take it to the chefs who cook it right before your eyes as you wait. It doesn't take long to cook on the sizzling hot plates so don't be concerned you'll be left waiting for hours. It's a short process and the food tastes great. I love being able to choose my own vegetables as I usually leave half of them on my plate when I go out for Asian food. It's great for kids as they will love being able to pick out their own food and then watch it being cooked. There's ample parking available and it's well equipped for large groups and families with a very relaxed atmosphere.

And that's not to say that dinner at Sizzling Mongolian isn't good, it is, but just don't expect mind-blowing greatness - that's all. You walk into a restaurant that's decorated to remind you that you might just be dining in a Mongolian tent in the middle of the desert (if you weren't surrounded by views of the Brisbane city in the distance), and once you're seated you walk casually to the balcony where you follow this routine. I warn you, while it isn't as strict as ordering soup from the Soup Nazi, there is a process that keeps this restaurant moving in an orderly manner. 1. Pick your bowl up from table 1 2. Select your meat from the freezer cabinet. There's lamb, beef, pork and chicken. All sliced thinly, frozen and ready to make friends with the vegetables you're about to introduce them to. 3. And there's step 3. Shuffle two steps to your right and fill your bowl up with freshly cut cabbage, bean sprouts, carrot, capsicum, pineapple, tomato, bok choy and shallots. 4. Shuffle another two steps to your right to the sauce table. Chilli, soy sauce, lemon, garlic, coriander and about a handful more sauces to select to add "flavour" your dish. 5. Take a turn behind you and leave your bowl on the counter for the Iron Chef to cook your meal on the massive outdoor BBQ (not your standard backyard barbie, okay). Wait about a nano second before going back to your table to devour your meal. Repeat this as many times as your stomach will allow. I managed two. How many bowls can you do?

Located in the Central Station. Easy access by train or bus. Price: dinner $69-$79, breakfast $59, not sure about lunch. The price doesn't include drinks. But the drink prices are normal and affordable. Food: huge variety!!! Believe me! My partner and I have tried other buffet package in other restaurants and hotels around Brisbane and Gold Coast. This has been our most favourite. The price worth what you get! I've posted many pictures of the restaurants and some of the food. Check them out! Huge variety in starters, main food, SEAFOOD, and desserts. I cannot mention each of the food because it's too many. Hehe Service: the best! The waitress was very friendly with nice genuine smile. She kept our table always clean every time and kept on refilling water without us asking for more. She always serve things for me first and then my partner. That is the correct manner of serving meal/drinks in restaurants, which is ladies first. My partner booked a table for this dinner and requested a special seating because it's for our anniversary dinner. And when we arrived, we were placed in perfect spot in the corner, with great view, and feeling more private. It was the first great impression of the night. They did not forget our request. At the end of the night when we were enjoying our desserts, a waitress came with a complementary sweets plate from the chef, with candle and plate was written 'happy anniversary'. That was really nice. (Check out the picture). This kind of amazing service will the one make us to keep coming back to this place. I'll update this review or write another review if I try their breakfast buffet next time. Hopefully it's as good as the dinner :)

I loved the desert selection it was huge!! They had the tastiest prawns! Will definitely be back X

Went to go get sushi and saw that there was a LARGE BUG just hanging out on one of the pieces! All the other trays had flies buzzing around them.. I tried it for a week but then I realised I just don't have the money. So in a pinch, I find myself at Sushi Station Buffet Express in West End. And it's not half bad, not what I expected at all. From Monday to Thursday, $20 gets you all you can eat buffet that consists of one side of the buffet teeming with sushi (mostly the real raw stuff, not canned tuna and mayo), pour-your-own miso soup, and rice. On the other side you have the cooked deliciousness such as gyoza (steamed dumplings), prawn 'dim sims', fried chicken, spring rolls, and mixed vegetables to name a few. I'll admit it's not entirely traditionally Japanese cuisine, but it very tasty. And try the green tea jelly for dessert; its an acquired taste but I love it. On the weekends enjoy an exclusively seafood buffet for $25 per person, all of which is surprisingly fresh. There is unlimited green tea and water on offer, but soft drinks are extra. It's not fancy inside the restaurant but it does boast a simplistic charm. Or maybe I'm making that up because, in all honesty, I don't care what I'm sitting on when I'm on my fifth plate of food. If you're strapped for cash but need a whole lot of food, definitely check this place out as it is tasty. But if you're looking for high end cuisine and atmosphere its probably best to look elsewhere. And note: cash only!

My family have been going here for ages, yes even though it's in a food court, it may as well be a restaurant seeing how busy it gets during peak hours, even though there's a chinese stirfry place right next door literally to this place. These people aren't silly... they know where to get the good stuff. These people namely chinese students that are studying at The University of Queensland. It's rice cooked in water and coconut milk, served with a mild chicken curry as well as dried anchovies, roasted peanuts, a lively chilli relish and pickled carrots. They've also got a quite good 'Hainanese Chicken Rice' which comes with an undrinkably hot broth, so you might want to ask for an ice cube to cool it down. As for the service, they may never smile at you or utter much other than "What you want?" but if you keep going there long enough, they might start giving you chopsticks instead of a fork. They call it a feast for a reason. The plate is filled with some koftas (fried balls of something or other), lentils over rice, a basic vegetable curry of the day, some papadums (lentil crackers) for dipping, a bit of salad, and dessert. A light lemonade is also included. You can expect a reliably rounded and satisfying meal, with simple flavors (touch up with a spicy chutney if you like). I've still yet to find a really high-brow vegetarian restaurant with as diverse and exciting of a menu as I'd like, but you'll not likely find a better deal in West End than this right here.
