Everything is fresh and delicious and I love that poke toppings are unlimited. I will probably never stop going! I was going to include a photo but I've never taken one before devouring my entire bowl!

So far, I have been here twice. It is a little bit out of the way for me to frequent. However, if I…read morelived nearby, I would be here once a week for sure. They have the two most important elements that make for outstandingly excellent sushi, and even more exciting, poke; those are extremely fresh fish and ingredients and a small, little, family-owned atmosphere with a great attitude and care that can only be administered by a small place like this. The bowls of poke are bright and beautiful, with all the wonderful ingredients and sauces you can imagine. Not only do you have the ability to make them any way you see fit, they showcase their regular customers' orders as named specials on the wall so that you can order what others have enjoyed thoroughly, and maybe find something exciting and new! Unfortunately, during my initial visit here, I did not snap any photos of the poke bowl, but on my second trip, I was feeling in more of a sushi mood, and managed to get a picture of my sushi box! I love that they pack in actual yuzu leaves for flair and flavor, and everything has variety from the chef's choice and still maintained the absolute freshness that I had expected from my first time here. I will be returning here whenever I am nearby and cannot say enough about how wonderful this little place is. From what I have seen, it is a husband and wife alone that manage Toyota, with occasional other staff to help, but they are excited and eager to help and get you whatever you need, and to build lasting relationships with people that come in the door. They are trying to build that extended family that sets a small restaurant apart and doing a great job of it through their unrivaled mastery of the poke bowl. So do yourself a favor and stop into this tiny, almost unnoticeable strip mall, and make this home yours.

The poke itself was very fine. Not a lot of options in either the fish department or the toppings department. And there are up charges for a lot of ingredients I feel are typically standard, like seaweed salad. I also got a creme brûlée drink which was definitely not worth the money. It feels mom and pop which I appreciate and do feel like with some small additions to their poke options this could be a nice spot if you're in the area.

The…read morefolks who run the place are super nice and attentive, definitely family-run, and because of that I am going to do what I can to support this local business because we don't need another chain joint in our area. And good on them for taking a risk on Bala village where few retail businesses have been willing to invest. Similar vibe inside to when it was Trails End but they have opened up all of the internal space for dining so plenty of options to sit inside on a cold day. Lots of take-out snacks and drinks are available for trail users, including a nice selection of iced cream bars, coffee, bars, etc. On to the food. I absolutely love ramen, so honestly, I'm happy to have someplace in our neighborhood where I can get a decent bowl. Overall everything was good. Solid bowl of homemade ramen. Not at the level of places like Hiro or Terakawa, but not at all flat and the noodles were well cooked. I got it with shrimp tempura which came with 2 small but super crunchy shrimp that went well with the soup. Also, I got an order of takoyaki which actually was surprisingly yummy. Good texture and flavor came on a nice little bed of lettuce. Again, not the best takoyaki ever, but still pretty yummy. Was happy with the milk tea I got, tasted home-brewed and they got my sugar level just right. The tapioca was just ok. My spouse got a creme brulé bubble tea which was similar to mine but with a custardyness to it that I was jealous of. For a small shop run by 2 people that sells a lot of different things in a super odd location in Bala, this place surprised me with how good it was. I'm giving it 5 stars because they are new and are still building the business and getting the kinks out. I really do think this place can become awesome if people keep going and give them feedback to allow them to make it even better. I wonder if having so many options (poke, ramen, etc) is hurting them as people are used to either going to a poke place or a ramen place. Is it possible to do both types of food really well, maybe. But honestly, I think if they chose one and really nailed it, this place would take off. My vote is for ramen, but that's just because I'm not big on poke and there are already a number of sushi spots in our area. Overall, if you live in the area, and have a craving for some poke, ramen, or bubble tea. Please, support them, and help them get even better! I'm rooting for Platform Z!
