This was my 1st time visiting Kahoots. My Schnauzer is the pickiest eater and I think I've tried every brand Petco has, so I wanted to see what Kahoots has to offer. They do carry quite a few brands, some the same as Petco. I was greeted by associate Ronnie who was so kind and helpful. I let Ronnie know about my picky eater. She suggested a few things and even gave me some samples of some kibble she thinks Niko would like. Their prices are not bad at all. I even picked up a grass plant to see if he would nibble on that. Well.. so far so good. He's been eating the brand I picked up. So we'll see how long this lasts. Ronnie also informed me if Niko didn't like it I could return it. Nice location with helpful employees and a vet clinic we regularly visit. I've seen them at events and they're always happy to engage with people and their fur babies. I love visiting to see Remy, the store cockatiel. Parking is easy and walking distance to get your dog a pup cup at Starbucks next door. read more

I love to support the little guys and Kahoots is a perfect example of a smaller business that is successful by providing great services and products that one needs for their pets. Came here for my dogs dental cleaning, rather than going to the vet and having him put under, and I'm so happy by how well it went. The clinic is run by a vet and the process was so incredibly fast and thorough. His teeth looked so white and clean after and they provided us with a full explanation of how his teeth are doing and any things to look out for in the future. I had the best experience today! I have been buying my cat food on Amazon and was curious if I could get it at the same cost at Kahoots. Not only did they have the brand (which is a good brand- Fussy Cat), but they also sold it cheaper + a 10% discount for purchasing 24 cans. Garrett, the salesperson, was super helpful and knowledgeable. He also helped me choose a new dog food that was $20 cheaper than what I was previously buying and had great knowledge on probiotics that are included in the various dog brands. read more

Last week was my first time here. So my dog all of a sudden began rejecting pill pockets. This was a huge problem as she needs to take medication every day. When I explained the situation to John, he recommended some kind of beef roll to hide them in. My dog loves the stuff and looks forward to her medication now. I like this place. I go to get treats and toys for my cats and they have a good selection with stuff I do not normally see at other bigger pet stores. They have always been friendly and helpful when I go in. Overall great store I like and recommend. Friendly folks and some known products, but produce and encourage their company's brand for food mostly. Later have been told of negative things regarding problems with their food. I bought a few cans for my pup to try before I heard this, but he wouldn't touch it. I hope the rumors are not true, but regardless I would probably go elsewhere for my pet food needs. **UPDATE REVIEW** Since all the info I received was based on public and veterinary opinion, I feel it's fair to add this as part of my review. , even if my pup didn't like any of the canned food purchased. I've updated this review as I did have a personal experience at the store, and it seems fair to provide additional information. I'm happy to know other pet owners found their pets like the food. Mine didn't. Typically he eats raw fresh food, and an occasional round of freeze-dried raw. Canned food is limited. However he didn't like the Kahoots! treats either. Maybe just not the right food/treats for my pup. read more

This is a very large and spacious location in Rancho Bernardo. The staff here is AMAZING. They're younger but so helpful and knowledgeable. I've stopped by a few times and am always greeted with a warm hello. I buy dog food here when I'm too lazy to go to Costco. They have 30lb bags of their own name brand dog food. The girls will help take the heavier stuff to your car if need be. I've also purchased bulk dog chews (like cow ears) or cow knuckles. They don't ever seem to be on sale but are a decent price. Their bird mascot is also so very cute. Overall, a wonderful location with an even better staff. read more

There are no Kahoots by where I live so I made it a point to stop by while I was in Poway already. My dog loved sniffing there dried chew products like the cow hooves. The store was quiet due to the covid 19 situation. Even so you can tell that it's very clean and organized. Plenty of different brands to choose from and some of the toys offered I have not seen before at other places like crochetted stuff animals. My dog is always scared and shaking when he's in PetSmart. He was so comfortable and happy walking around in Kahoots. That in itself makes me want to come back for future needs. Employees were also very kind. We got samples of their store brand dog food and they have Zignature here too! Prices were decent. We left with those and some beef liver treats. I'll definitely be back! read more

I love this store - everyone is nice and there are rarely any lines and lots of help. Now that petco and unleashed have closed - lots more options here for treats and food. You can also ask about training classes - quality staff. My rescue dog took two classes up in Ramona Kahoots. I really love their treat though I would prefer not to see the chicken feet on the counter - it grosses customers out - put them in the treat dept with a big sign instead, please :/ prices are very competitive with Amazon and you'll be buying local. They have everything you need and are very knowledgeable - if they don't have it, they'll tell you where to find it. They are very, very nice and take time to help you - they go above and beyond. Convenient parking. The parking lot is a bit dodgy at night, as are all parking lots in Poway - especially the library parking nearly across the street that shares parking with the Poway police station! I was parked right in front of Von's and a homeless guy (I assume) with an aluminium can and crochet hat (I kid you not, maybe he time traveled from the '70s and needed money to get back) making his way quickly toward me from about 40 feet away. I was shopping at Von's at about 9pm) - I thew my groceries into the passenger's seat (broke my eggs), got in quickly and locked the doors. He went right for the door handle then put his foot under my front tire - and I could back up. He yelled at me to put the money through the window- to crack the window open - and he would move. I wasn't about to get sued by this guy - victims of crimes often have to shell out for damages in California), so I wasn't going to roll over his foot - though there are no cameras in Poway parking lots except for Walmart during the holidays. I was directly in front of Von's and I laid it on the horn but no one came out. The man was yelling for money and slapping my window. I showed him on my cell phone I had called the police and I had them on speaker phone. The police station is two minutes away, at most, it took them 10 minutes to respond. They rolled up and he ran away. They drove after him. I waited a few more minutes to see if they were going to come back or call or something. They never did. Poway police at their best. Anyhow, I don't want to distract from this great review, but had I been in directly in front of Kahoots, I know they would have come right out to help me. I know this from the bottom of my heart - they have an all glass front and can see what's going on and They always ask if I need help to my car and I have taken them up on it a few times. They are very courteous in this world of self-serve everything. Anyhow, go in the day, there is a lot of crime in Poway, and the police make it hard for the press to cover it - they say everything is an active case and they can't talk about it. I don't think they ever close any cases. My friend is a reporter and its been very frustrating for her news org. read more

This location just opened yesterday. I went today and it is a nice, big pet supply store. I was planning to go buy Canidae at The Buried Bone but they were already closed, even though I showed up at 5:59p.m., which is 1 minute before their closing time. So I drove back here (since it's in the same little strip mall) to see if they carried Canidae. And they did :) They are open until 8p.m., woo! The employees are super nice! Came into here, seeing if it was a viable alternative to the other large big box pet stores out there and in a word, it is. They are on the smaller side and a lot of space is dedicated to the in house brand food, but that's to be expected. I had no trouble finding what I needed. It wasn't very busy so I think about every employee asked me if I needed help. That's fine too, since they were nice, I appreciate it to being ignored.
