I was invited to ADDA by their staff after having my small dog in training there with Springforth Dog Training (Katherine is a great trainer, by the way). It took me a while, as it was out of my way on the way to work, but I wasn't happy with the daycare she was in near Weymouth Landing, so I tried them....and my dog has been with them ever since! (almost 2 years) For those of you who like detailed reviews, read on. For those of you who don't, they definitely get 5 stars from me! They have great customer service, the facility is new, and the dogs are fantastic. And the staff is very attention: they noticed my dog's dew claws were almost going into her paw last year....I didn't even know what a dew claw was! I had just had her at the groomer who didn't notice. ADDA saved me a vet visit and bill...and my dog a lot of pain! *** FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO LIKE DETAILS: - Caring and attentive staff: They LOVE the dogs and prioritize them over anything. - Customer service: Staff greet you at your car and take the dog inside for you and have your dog ready to go when you arrive. They nap and feed your dog if you want, and respond to emails or calls within 24 hours. They go the extra mile. - Facility: State of the art small indoor and outdoor daycare on the owner's premises in a natural environment. Doggie doors between the indoors / outdoors. Dutch doors prevent escapes (you know small dogs can be escape artists!). They even added overhead lines to prevent hawks from coming into the outdoor pen. - The Dogs: They're all fabulous, small dogs who play together all day but can curl up on an oversized chair when tired. - They document everything that happens and let you know if they notice something. - Location: The location is off the beaten path if you're a Boston commuter or don't live nearby. There's a beautiful pond across the street, so it's beautiful when you get there. For me, bringing my dog there adds an extra 45 minutes to an hour-long morning commute, and their closing time is 6:30 so I just make it in time. My dog is usually the last one there, so I doubt they have many Boston commuters. The only suggestion I would make to them are if they want more dogs is to experiment staying open until 7:00 for Boston commuters IF they want more dogs. It would make a huge difference if a staff person is willing to stay and if it's worth it to them to get more business. BUT I ONLY MENTION THIS BECAUSE I STILL BRING MY DOG THERE WITH THE ADDITIONAL COMMUTE TIME and I hope to have my dog there as long as I can do that! So that should tell you something about these folks...they're wonderful. I tout their services to all small dog owners, and I never worry about my dog being there because I know she's safe, happy, and exercising and getting tired, which is the whole reason I bring her! Nina has learned good obedience on and off leash. She heels now and I can enjoy walking with her. Dave has truly mastered training. We can't speak highly enough of David and how much he helped our family. My boyfriend and I have a…read more2 year old Bluetick Coonhound, Charlie. Starting when he was about 6 months we were having behavioral issues with him in the home. It started with resource guarding and food aggression, and overtime escalated to aggression toward us. We constantly walked on eggshells around him. It even got to the point of when we would come home from a walk Charlie wouldn't let us take his collar off. He would growl, snarl and bare his teeth, and turn on us. We had to use a baby gate as a "shield" to get to our bedroom. We didn't feel safe in our own home and no other trainer was able to help us. I had been bit twice up to this point. We debated rehoming Charlie, had almost lost all hope, broken hearted, and felt like we failed him. Upon reaching out, before we even met David, he reassured us he would be able to help. During our in-person evaluation with David he told us Charlie is a dominant dog and he is at the top of the pack. We needed to train with Charlie to regain our place at the top of the pack. Not only would it strengthen our bond with him but we would feel safe again and regain control of our home. Charlie spent two weeks at Trouwe Hond and came home yesterday. The confidence we have gained with David's training can't be put into words. Charlie is completely different, he is happy again and our family is whole again. We are SO grateful for the time and dedication David gave not only Charlie but us as well. We still have a lot of training ahead but we are so excited to continue learning with our boy.

Essentially he is training me so that I will be have the knowledge to work with her and understand why things are done the way they are . Great guy . Class act in my opinion . Any good trainer should be balanced because not all dogs are created equal so you can't assume only one technique will work for all dogs.. and if they don't want to be balanced, they should care enough about dogs to admit they can't help you and recommend you find someone else.. I had a german shepherd and went here for puppy classes. We did the 8 week class when she was 5 months old. She was anxious and reactive. The trainer of the puppy class didn't have any experience with this breed or any other "working" breed. I should have known better and immediately looked elsewhere, but they said I just needed to give it time.. My mistake was trusting them because time didn't make it better. If she was reacting, their advice was to put high value food in front of her face and once she was quiet to reward her with it. While yes this does make sense to reward the behavior we want, they have no methods of telling the dog no or that a behavior is unacceptable. So if your dog doesn't want that piece of food, why would it listen to you? Put it this way - you tell your kid to do chores and they'll get cake if they do. If they don't, they don't get cake. If the kid doesn't feel like cake that day, it's not going to do the chores and nothing happens. No consequence for not doing what it should. BUT that's not how things work, there should be consequences and discipline - hence we ground children or take away their phone etc. In PAWS-itively obedient's world, you just don't give them the treat and expect change to happen. We finished the 8 week class, and there were some minor improvements (only because I had taken my puppy to a "dog training" day care elsewhere for 3 days). SO I was encouraged by PAWS-itively obedient's trainer to sign up for the next level of classes. My GSD's behavior was not getting better, and she was getting much bigger now making her a bit more dangerous and difficult to control. I stopped in the middle of the next program and started to look elsewhere for trainers that could actually help train my dog. When I let them know I was leaving, their main concern was that I didn't go somewhere that used prong or electric collars as they believe it makes the dog more reactive. I was frustrated that they couldn't help me and admit that they couldn't and now annoyed that they felt the need to tell me what I shouldn't use - your method didn't work so you don't get to tell me not to try other methods. They should also educate themselves because prong collars and electric collars, or slip collars etc. do NOT make a dog more aggressive. I highly recommend working with a trainer on how to properly use these tools. Since I left and found a balanced trainer, my shepherd has never been better. Life changing using a prong and ecollar. She is well behaved, not reactive, and is great off leash! I can't recommend this place for the fact they believe in one method only and don't admit when they can't help you. They clearly just wanted my money and don't care for the mental state of the dogs. Please do your research and look elsewhere for other great trainers and advice that can handle any and all dogs. - FalcoK9, Ruff Translating, SouthShoreDogSquad, Wolf Pack Canine, Upstate Canine Academy, Michael Ellis - just to name a few..

Prabin (and Kyrah, who we started with originally) are like part of our family. I found them when…read moreour old dog was 13 years old and had just been diagnosed with Leukemia. Our previous dog walker had moved out of state. I felt terrible asking these new people to take care of a dog who wouldn't be with us for very long, but they insisted they were OK with it and would never leave me without care (even though we'd just met!) They were incredibly wonderful to my old girl during her last year of her life. I was always nervous to leave her with anyone. They took care of her as their own - both for walks and for weekends we were were away. A few months after our old girl passed, we adopted a new rescue puppy. That was 3 years ago and Prabin has been with us since. They take her when we are away and walk her daily in between. THey were on "stand-by" when our daughter was born last summer and helped tremedously in making the transition a smooth one. Prabin (and the others) are extremely reliable, personable, caring, responsible, HONEST, trustworthy and most importantly - AMAZING with our dog. She LOVES Prabin (And Andrew and Kyrah) and so do we!! I recommend Doggy Divas without reservation. I can't say enough!! :)
