I like that he not only works with the dogs but also with the owners because I didn't even realize I was contributing to some of the issues with one of my dogs. I do want to point out, Not all dog trainers are the same. we took our young German shepherd somewhere else and they scared him/spooked him with us in the room. Heck they scared me too. We left and booked our appointment with Sean like we should have to begin with. Sean worked with that same dog, a male German shepherd that was extremely anxious on walks. We are continuing to follow Sean's advice to calm him but I think it's going to take some time as he has separation anxiety. We know to work with Sean and highly recommend him.

I have attached screenshots of my July 2017 Facebook conversation with Linda from the business account. On the day we picked him up, I messaged her to let her know when we would arrive to pick up Snapdragon, and the account responded with Diamond Oaks Ranch's contact information. A few days later, she contacted me asking, "how is the pup," requested pictures of him, and described him as "a very sweet pup." I am disappointed that rather than acknowledging our experience, the response has been to deny that we purchased our dog from them at all. I am posting the contemporaneous messages so prospective buyers can see the documentation and draw their own conclusions.

My six-year-old, Bryson, is the most handsome shepherd you'll ever meet. Unfortunately he struggles with numerous acutely painful serious hereditary defects diagnosed by UC Davis Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital. Estimate for three immediately required corrective surgeries, spine fusion, left stifle joint TPOL implant, and right hip replacement $41,000-$50,800. UC Davis perhaps the foremost veterinary school in the country found Bryson has degenerative changes of the hip, right worse than left, increased fluid in the left stifle joint, along with osteoarthritis. On CT scan there was also: Lumbosacral intervertebral disc disease with subluxation. Canine lumbosacral intervertebral disc disease involves degeneration and potential displacement of the intervertebral discs at the lumbosacral junction. This condition can lead to nerve compression, resulting in pain and mobility issues for the affected dog. Also Dorsal disc protrusion and narrowing of the intervertebral foramina and vertebral canal. Canine dorsal disc protrusion refers to a condition where the intervertebral disc bulges outwards, typically affecting the spinal cord and causing pain or neurological issues in dogs. This condition can lead to symptoms such as weakness, incoordination, or paralysis, depending on the severity. For the love Bryson has given me, I will provide what ever care UC Davis recommends to give my best friend the longest best life possible! Linda's insane response is just loony deranged slander. "He (Doug Bothwell) never offered one single bit of proof of any health issues with his dog," THEN READ UC DAVIS'S ASSESSMENT OF BRYSON'S HEALTH ISSUES. Breeding dogs with Bryson's type of critically painful defects in her puppy mill, is animal cruelty!

Doug literally saved my dog's life. I had adopted my 75 pound lab mix Bear from the shelter at an…read moreadoption event. I was attracted to his size and his calm demeanor. I also felt sorry for him because he seemed so sad. I had no idea how many issues he had even though the foster coordinator did tell me he had been returned to the shelter three times before me. I thought with love and training he would be a good dog. I had trained two rescue dogs before I had children and thought I was ready for another. After bringing Bear home, it became more and more obvious that he was a fearful dog and had many behavioral issues due to this fearfulness. He jumped at any noise, barked at anyone other than the family who tried to get near him and was absolutely insane on a leash. He also appeared to be extremely dog aggressive. I hired a trainer recommended by the shelter and although he was good and thoughtful, his passive approach was difficult to implement, and didn't address many of my immediate problems. He also said that Bear would take a lot of work and always be fearful. I tried another trainer that seemed a little more highly recommended (and yes, I'll admit it, cheaper). After filling out a questionnaire and viewing Bear at her facility she told me that it was just a matter of time before he bit another dog or even a person. She also said that he would always be fearful. Based on her recommendation, I tried to rehome Bear. I was very honest, posting his information on Facebook exchanges and calling rescues. Nobody wanted him, based on the fact that he needed training and was possibly dog aggressive. One rescue recommended I drop him off at a shelter in Agoura Hills since people there had more money and there was less chance he would be put down. I called the shelter where I had gotten Bear and they told me they couldn't take him back either since it would be next to impossible to find a home for him. The only ray of hope I had was one woman on the Facebook exchange recommended Doug as someone who had helped plenty of PitBulls through a rescue she was affiliated with. I called Doug in a last ditch attempt before taking Bear to the shelter (and certain death). Doug spoke with me for almost an hour and gave me several tips over the phone in order to control Bear until he could meet him. On our first session, he came to my house and observed Bear. It was tense at first as Bear didn't like any strange people, let alone a tall man in a hat coming into his house. Doug won him over by the end of the session and had him taking treats from his hand. Doug did a lot of observing that day, gave me some training tasks to do and left us with something we didn't have before - hope. In the next session, Doug saw a completely new dog. Because of the tips and observations Doug had given us, I had the confidence to take Bear to the local dog park. The ability to run and socialize with other dogs was actually just what Bear needed. At the dog park he walked right up to people and let them pet him. He appeared just like any other dog. When Doug saw him, he was amazed at how much more relaxed he was. Doug has given us tools and techniques to work with Bear and he is improving by leaps and bounds. I can walk him now without having my arm ripped off or worrying that he will attack everyone we meet. He is sweet and polite and learning to be an amazing companion. Thanks to Doug, Bear will have a home with me for the rest of his life.

We rescued a 5 months old dog, Mila, and quickly realized that she was unmanageable and more than we could take on at this time. With 2 children under 2 years old and multiple businesses to operate we could not handle an unruly puppy who refused to listen or calm down. She was too rambunctious with our children, destroying our house, and annoying the neighbors. We thought our only option was to re-home her yet again. As a last attempt to save her being passed on to yet another owner, we sent our puppy to boarding school with Out Of The Wild Canine Academy. We were absolutely blown away. She came back with the ability to obey commands and deliver what we need from her. She learned skills and tricks that allow us peace of mind. Mila is now reliable and safe to have around our children. Out Of The Wild Canine Academy saved Mila from abandonment and empowered us to gain an obedient and skilled companion. We trust her to do what we need her to when we need her to. We encountered a complete transformation in our dog. We are looking forward to seeing her gain more skills.

After weeks of looking for a behavioral dog trainer, I decided to go with Dogmaster. Tony, the dog trainer was responsive with questions I had about my dogs. I needed to correct my 10 years old lab-pitbull mix aggressive behavior towards other dogs, and for her to accept my new 10 months old German shepherd puppy. In addition to behavioral training, I also asked for basic manners to be taught as well for both dogs and potty training for the new puppy. Tony said it would required at least 4 weeks. I signed up both dogs. Payment was half upfront, and half at finished. Each day I get a video of what the dogs was trained on, except on Sunday :) After 4 weeks, can't say I wasn't pleased. The dogs was cool together in the back yard, and around the house. However, our senior is not interested in playing with our new puppy, but It is not a big deal for me, I just wanted them to acknowledge each other. Several weeks after the dogs returned home, I was having some trouble getting the dogs to follow the previously taught commands. Tony was super nice enough to swing by the house to couch me on how to reinforce the dogs training. The experience with Dogmaster was wonderful. I 100% recommended the company and Tony!

With Tony, this was definitely addressed along with a few other things such as staying in place and following commands. However, with a board and train, I only received about 3 videos per day (~15-20 minutes total). I regrettably did not review the videos in detail as I was so concentrated on the results. There was A LOT of yanking. For a big dog, it may not be so much an issue. With a pomeranian, you can literally yank their necks and even lift with a leash (which I saw on some occasions). My dog eventually developed trachea problems which is so unfortunate. I was new to dog ownership but as I reviewed the videos now, I cannot say I agree with Tony's training methods. Please be careful with smaller dogs if you decide to use his services as it seems Tony doesn't seem to treat big or small dogs any differently in terms of training method (yanking a big dog vs a small dog).
