There are two doors to open and angled apart so not very accessible for walker or wheelchair or convenient is carrying a pet carrier or bringing a pet in. Friendly staff but the waiting area has dog hair all over the seats. Pets are all in one lounge so you've got barking dogs trying to instigate with other animals and scaring others. It might be practical have everyone on a harness or in a carrier to prevent the hair everywhere and potential fights. The cats have another room in the back I didn't notice the sign the first time. They do charge an extra fee for same day appointments so I recommend booking ahead or calling and speaking to someone if you must be seen urgently. The vet was very nice and transparent. They did have to take the cat to another room where I could not accompany. I had to sit on hair covered bench while waiting. After all that was said and done. I had no idea pet vet care was so expensive. She's not my kitty but I would do anything for her and it broke my heart seeing her sick. I would bring her back. Overall score js 4.5 because of the doors and hair. I do realize that it's impossible to have it spotless with countless animals but there was no effort while I was there to clean after groups were in the lobby and the room had not been cleaned prior to us going in. My only option was to clean off the bench myself shifting the hair to the floor or sitting on/beside it. I would have swept myself if given the option.

And yes…read morethings can happen, it's dogs playing with dogs, they can get rough and they can get small scratches and stuff, but all I know is that when my little girl gets up, she jumps out of bed and has a fit to get to daycare. I can barely keep her in the car as I'm pulling into the parking lot. So, I say forget the bad reviews and listen to your baby. If they don't like it, they'll tell you. But if you pull up and they are trying to jump out the window to get inside, take them. And keep in mind, the people there aren't taking care of you, they're taking care of your dog... so if you feel their responses are not what you feel is appropriate, give them some slack because their responses to your dog are wonderful. And isn't that really all that matters?

He took my dogs in during the crucial part of my healing process and worked with them daily. My pups are great, but they were super excited and didn't have many manners. Even in a sling and only able to use one arm, their first few walks were great!! They listened to me, very minimal pulling that was easily correct (most times with a verbal correction), and they were able to ignore distractions. This an unusual post but very pertinent to show the level of care we received and still receive…read morefrom Animal Care Center of Salem (ACCS). We moved in late June to Tennessee. Our dogs still have their rabies tag from ACCS. One of our dogs wandered off in our TN neighborhood and one of our neighbors found her. She called ACCS and let them know she found a dog with a rabies tag from them and the receptionist at the desk looked up the number and contacted us. If that isn't above and beyond - I don't know what is. We miss our ACCS family and if we come back to the Roanoke/Salem area will use them to care for all of our pet care needs. Thank you so much!
