Secondly, I have never been to a 2 in 1, wedding and reception all at the same location, so I really thought this one would be just like any other receptions I have been to. I'm so glad I went and had the honor of being there to witness the beautiful ceremony. This venue is literally out in the middle of nowhere. it's secluded and very intimate. The setting was perfect, overlooking the lake, the barn, and some hays too. The only thing missing was probably some horses. After the ceremony, we moved right inside for the reception. I love the fact that the reception hall was like a huge garage. It has rolled up doors that 2 full sides could be wide opened if the weather permits, which it was a perfect day for it. It's a location worth checking out and considering if you're planning for your big day. Just a heads up tho, the parking lot is all gravel, be very careful if you wear high heels. It was a real pain in the ass for me making that short walk to and from the car, but I suck at walking in high heels, so u might be just fine ;)

Helpful, knowledgeable, thoughtful and very responsive. The venue is beautiful, with lots of light, lots of space, and you pretty much have free reign to decorate how you wish. The food on the day of the wedding was delicious. The charcuterie table was like nothing I've seen...beautiful and made you eat with your eyes. But the journey to get there? Aye yi yi. The tasting was a disaster. My sister called me after crying that it was so bad they couldn't serve it to their guests and wanted a different caterer. We were told emphatically we couldn't. Her fiancée asked me if maybe they forgot they were coming and just pulled stuff from the fridge. They didn't feel that they were taken seriously when giving feedback about how bad the food was. The problem is that you have to work with Angela, the "Venue/Catering Manager" of the Castle. This is a problem for many reasons: 1) She has absolutely no understanding of food. Or catering, or pricing, or her venue. (She told us that they serve jumbo shrimp with fajitas, when in fact, they serve BAY shrimp, which is what you get in a 99 cent cocktail in Vegas, among the tons of other nonsensical information) 2) Almost every single question that was asked of her, she had to ask the chef, her boss (the owner, Doug), Alfredo the ops manager. You would think that after 25 years with this company, she would have a better understanding of this company and her venue 2) She will definitively tell you that she is not the wedding coordinator. (Not exactly sure what her role is.). She did NOTHING on the day of the event except hide in her office. 3) There was no follow up after the wedding with an invoice, receipt, "thank you for coming", "how was everything", etc In summary: This is a beautiful venue and the onsite staff are terrific. But if you are not a seasoned catering person, please hire someone who is, to do the planning with Angela.

I did not know that it was past time for the bar to close; if they would have simply pointed that out, it would have been perfectly fine. Instead, I was told by one bartender that she would not serve me. I went to the next one, and the mother of the bride ordered my drink for me. The second bartender started making my drink and the first bartender made him pour it out. So weird. Meanwhile, she's making drinks for another guest. At the end of the day, it doesn't really matter. It was a strange, negative end to a beautiful day, however.

When I questioned the owner, she said it was a mistake and the performers were more popular now so they adjusted the prices without adjusting the website. I asked for a one time courtesy discount to honor the advertised price, and it was denied. I decided to move forward anyways, despite feeling like it was a scammy bait and switch tactic. But ultimately the owner cancelled my order, leaving my 6 year old daughter without the performer she'd fallen in love with for her birthday. I'd suggest finding somewhere else for your performers.
