After my regular nail technician moved out of the area, I found myself trying to find a new nail tech without knowing where to start. Good technicians can be hard to come by, and it can be frustrating spending time and money only to leave a salon disappointed. For the past couple of years I had been going to Star Nails in Oakhurst, but aside from my regular technician (who recently relocated), I unfortunately had repeated experiences where the work felt rushed, overly thick, or uneven. I often left feeling dissatisfied, which is what finally pushed me to start looking for another option rather than continuing to settle. I decided to try K Nail Spa, even though it's about 25 minutes away, and I'm really glad I did. When I arrived, I was the only client, and I learned they operate by appointment only, which I appreciated. Dang took the time to evaluate the set I came in with and explained that the previous acrylic had been applied too thick and had started to curve upward. Rather than simply filing them down and risking problems later, he recommended removing the old set and starting fresh so the structure could be corrected. I really appreciated that honesty and attention to detail. He created a new pink-and-white acrylic set with a soft ombré finish and a short almond shape. Most of the appointment was spent carefully placing the acrylic and refining the shape, which resulted in nails that feel light, natural, and well balanced. The final result is elegant and exactly the type of look I was hoping for. The salon itself is run by a husband-and-wife team and has a very personal, small-business feel. If you're looking for a huge spa atmosphere this may feel a bit different, but if your priority is finding someone who focuses on doing careful, quality work, this was a very positive experience. For anyone else in the area who may be searching for a reliable nail technician after losing their regular person, this place was a great find and definitely worth the drive. read more

Updating my review. NEW OWNERSHIP! This is a VERY GOOD THING. I had one of the best pedicures I have ever had yesterday w the owner Dang. It was a bit spendy but well worth it at 75.00, but It was a forty-five minute exfoliating and massage w parrafin and a gel pedicure. I had a great gel manicure the day before, and that was awesome as well. My nail beds are very sensitive, and I jerk a lot when I think i'm going to be hurt Dang assured me. He had owned three nail salons, and he promised he wouldn't hurt me, which he didn't. A big change from the people who used to work there who burned my nail beds and laughed. I would highly recommend this facility as it is very clean. It sits right on highway forty-one with a prime location. They only take cash, so be prepared for that. There is a t m next door at the mini mart next door, but the machine charges four dollars, so make sure and bring your own. read more

Emily and Dang are the best! They've taken care of my nails for some time now. Emily takes great care of my feet. She's gentle yet effective. My feet always look great, and I feel pampered after my pedi. Dang tackles any nail art I ask of him! I never have file cuts. My nails never break. My paint never chips or fades. My nails are always beautiful, and I constantly get compliments on them. Their shop is clean and stylish. Love K Nails and Emily and Dang! read more

First time here and what a lousy job she did! It's been 2 weeks and I'm having to fix my nail that she was supposed to trim! My big toes were shaped in a U shape! Not a straight line! The toes next to my big toes needed extra attention but that didn't happen and I had again needed to fix them myself! If she would have concentrated on my feet instead of looking out the damn window, maybe she would have done a real job! Not only that but they showed up late! Really? And you want my business???? Not gonna happen!! You certainly didn't make me feel welcome and then charged me $35 for a crappy pedicure! I hope you lose your business or get your crap together and know that it's your damn customers who make you who your are!!!! U will never see me or my money again!!!! read more

So happy I found them! I've been twice and the set they did the first visit looked so good I could have lasted 2 more weeks! Dang and Emily are amazing, love not having to go far to have my nails done! I will definitely be a regular client. https://instagram.com/knailspa41?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y= read more

With Tony gone, I'm happy to come back to KNail with Dang & Emily running the show! They both are excellent at their work. I trust them, they are quality, and fun & friendly as well. Emily gives me an amazing pedi while Dang takes care of my mani. I hope they stay in Coarsegold - and that people in Coarsegold & YLP give them a chance to prove who & what they are - great people. read more

I moved here from out of state and ive been searching for a nail tech thats as good as the one i have back home. Sarah KILLED IT!! amazing customer service, paid attention to detail and fairly quick for the nails I picked out. Normally my biggest issue is with the shaping and it being consistent but she absolutely nailed it pun intended. They also aren't extremely busy which is soo weird because of the quality of service! I only paid $60 for these when id happily pay $80 back home! read more

I was a customer of Dang's in Redding multiple times when he still owned a shop there. Going to have to see if I can get my mom to come down here from her house in Mariposa for pedicures with me. I'll never forget Dang's kindness when I took my daughter to him to fix a nail she broke the day before school at her grandma's house. (Her grandmother assaulted her.) First he said he had no time, then when I told him we just needed the one nail, he fixed it, matched the color beautifully, and then didn't even charge us for it. This man is a GEM. read more

Love sara!! Came in and got a pedicure and a full set, absolutely loved it she was so sweet and nice! I don't usually like getting pedicures cuz of the way feet look, but she definitely made me so happy with how beautiful she made my feet look! I did an ombre (my first time doing ombre) and I absolutely lovr them!! The pictures don't do them justice! 100% recommend! read more

I came here to get gel mani & pedi. Really love the space and service is top quality. The first time I came the owner was very friendly and generous but I came today there wasn't much of a welcome vibe so this is why I gave it only four stars. The first time I came they were just opened so she was trying to get locals to come. But I think as a business you really don't want to lose the customer service aspect since you are competing with other nail salons. I was looking forward to coming here but now not so sure...the nail technician is still really good but the welcome and customer service was lacking? All they were doing including the owner was just sitting looking at their phones! I suggest she goes back to having friendly customer service if she wants to stay busy and in business. read more

So I'm giving 2 stars cause the atmosphere was good the chairs were nice, but while the girl was polite and nice she did a terrible job. To be fair my feet were ratchet hadn't had a pedicure in probably 6 months so I sprang for the deluxe pedicure and paid $63 plus a $10 tip. It took about 30 minutes, she sorta half assed every step and I couldn't enjoy it really cause I'm not into S&M. Most my toes were bleeding but she cut the hell out of my big toe and when she was working on my rough ass heels she mostly missed the callous on my heel and got the back of my foot cutting it up. I did call the owner and he just said thank you I really just wanted to get my feet less ragid but now they are worse then before and annoyingly painful. Overall I will never be going back and I deffinately won't be recommending to anyone else. read more

The facility appears very clean and they have a wide selection of colors. However after having 10:00 appts for two pedicures, the lady started mine and my friend's pedicure didn't get started until mine was almost over. We had very different pedicures for the same price. I did not get a leg massage but I did get some very nice scratches on my ankle from the scrubber. My friend already had gel on her toes and they just peeled it off with nail clippers, which hurt hurt toes. We ventured out for lunch & a pedicure out of town but for $67 & scratched up ankles, we will explore other options next time. read more

I found my new nail salon! Friendly, great work, and just down the road! I will definitely be back

After trying every nail salon in Oakhurst and Madera, I found this place and was ready to give it a 5-star review. But you can always tell the true nature of a business when you see how they treat a good customer when they screw up. I made an appointment for 11AM today. (I never make Sunday appointments any earlier, force of habit, I know myself.) I got there with a few minutes to spare, and they had me down in the books for 10 AM with the wrong phone number, so obviously it was their mistake. I am a good paying and high tipping customer. (Last time, I paid $55 for a full, long-ish, ombre set, plus a $15 tip, more than I've paid for any nail job in this part of California.) Today, the nail tech could not have worked faster or shoddier on my nails to get me out of the way and onto the next paying customer--I was astounded by how many steps he skipped in my fill, and how awful it looks! I asked for a full glitter set, and he did an ombre, didn't take off all of the old glitter when he did the fill, and they look like crap. Even though you can get away with a 30-second "bake" on a gel finish, it's always a good idea to keep your nails in the "oven" for at least a minute. He spent about 15 minutes on a shitty fill, didn't listen to or look at what I wanted, and treated me like it was my fault for being late when it was their fault for getting my appointment time wrong! I have seen them treat their regular customers (like me) who want fancy nails so much better than they treat me, and I'm not sure why, maybe I'm too nice. So, here's a one-star review. K-Nails owes me a free do-over for today without the attitude. They are the best nail salon in the area, but I am very, very disappointed with this crappy set of holiday nails. Not the way to treat regular, well-tipping customers. read more

Ok new management is in. I decided one more time to try it out because they are so close to me. Mucccccch better. I was not cut while getting nails filed. It is very clean. No one was fighting. I am happy with my new experience. I will be going back for a pedicure soon. read more
