Understaffed and overbooked. Second time going with my dog. First time was okay so we decided to go back. This time, mentioned a condition my dog was having and asked to be called before the appointment was over so that I could pick my dog up on time and not have them put in a crate. Was told the appointment would be done at a certain time and was done 30 minutes before. My dog ended up being the crate which led to him biting and chewing on his paws he for 30 minutes causing cuts and injuries. read more

It's been at least 5 years that I've been coming here with my 26 lb American Eskimo. Bowser is 8 years old and skittish, not aggressive, but doesn't enjoy being around other dogs. Historically, Bowser does well with Sean, his favorite groomer. Several months ago, I thought I could take Bowser to a different groomer than KJ paws because Sean was all booked up for a month and Bowser was in desperate need of a bath. I brought my dog there, and he was so freaked out, he wouldn't leave the kennel when they were going to start on him. The other grooming place was nice enough to call me, so I went and got him. Needless to say, Bowser has a favorite groomer. When I was finally able to get Bowser in with Sean, Bowser walked right up to Sean and shoved his head between Sean's legs (he does this to people he loves). Sean is always consistent, the cut always turns out fantastic, and my favorite pup is always fresh at the end of the service. Not to mention, his rates have never changed even after 5 years. He's a happy dog when he gets to see his homie Sean. This place is very poorly run. It took me 2 weeks to get someone to call me back to book an appointment. I should have given up then, but I still wanted to give them a try so I could support a local business. Today was our first appointment and I won't be coming back. When I booked the appointment I was told that they'd come out to get my dog from the car to be COVID safe. So I pulled into their parking lot and parked in a spot labeled "KJ Paws". I called the number to tell them I was here and no one answered so I left a message. I sat there for 20 minutes before going to the door. A rude lady answered the door and I said I was here for my appointment and I had called to let them know but no one answered. I told her I'd been sitting in the parking lot for 20 minutes. Without even apologizing, she said "We're too busy to answer the phone. You should have parked in front of the building, LIKE WE HAVE BEEN DOING FOR A YEAR." I reminded her that this was my first appointment and no one had told me. I showed her I was parked in a KJ Paws spot and she said "That's where the staff parks." How was I supposed to know that?!?! Fast forward and the tech tells me to pick up my dog at 11:00. At 10:54 he calls to tell me it's cash or check only. Well, 6 minutes before the time he told me to be there, I was already on my way without a check or cash. Poorly run, lady was rude as can be and there are so many other options to get a puppy bath where the staff is nice and the instructions are clear. read more

My oldster was becoming very frail but was very dirty. He was also blind, deaf, and easily disoriented. I asked if there was anyway to keep his appointment as short as possible. Sean went out of his way to find a time slot that would get my oldster in and out as rapidly as possible. Sadly, my pup passed on a few weeks later. I've been taking my dog Whisky to ChaCha's Daycare for a while and always think that I need to check out the groomer next door KJ Paws. Yesterday when I dropped off my dog I asked them how the groomer was and they highly recommended them. So I went over and asked if they would have time to clean my yellow lab. Not only did they get him in on the same day, but they also went over to ChaCha's and picked him up and then took him back over when they were done! He came home smelling wonderful and I have NEVER seen his nails trimmed so nicely. We have hardwood floors and I cannot even hear his nails on the floor anymore. I have been going to Cheryl for about a year now, maybe more, and I am totally pleased with my experiences there. I have a westie, and she grooms him perfectly! In the winter I like to keep his coat a little longer, and she is totally responsive to my instructions. I also really like that he is given a specific appointment time, and is always done in 4 hours or less. At some previous groomers, they would not take specific appointments... all the dogs came early, usually all at once and they would sometimes be there all day! And, some would take appointments but were very inconsistent on how long my dog would be there. Also, Cheryl seems to really love and care for the dogs, whereas I have had experiences with other groomers who seem to not like their job much, and therefore be annoyed by the dogs. I really want to trust whomever is caring for my pets, and I completely trust Cheryl! read more

just had a unfortunate experience which will never make me a customer and I feel compelled to leave a review. I was dropping off my dog next door at Cha Cha's as a first time client. I am 8 months pregnant and my husband parked in front, which turned out to be not a spot. our mistake. a short, older blonde lady who was not wearing a mask gets put and tells us to move. my husband starts to do so. she keeps going on about it as he's getting in the car and I told her I Understood. she snottily replied that obviously I didn't and walked away. my husband moved the car and I was waiting to be let into cha Cha's and asked about her services, she changed her attitude and let me know all their services. I just wanted to clarify to make sure it was a super business so they wouldn't get my money. I understand she could have been having a bad morning, however, when the opportunity arose to apologize she didn't take it. there's a phrase that the character of a man is not how he treats his equal, but his inferiors. it's unfortunate that I have two dogs that could use grooming but I will not spend my money at a place that is unnecessarily rude to people who ate not for sure customers. read more

Casey did a GREAT job on my 16 lb bichon/ poodle mix. Found as a stray/rescue, he's only been groomed twice before, and is still learning to be a good boy at the groomer. I have been taking my little female Maltese (Ruby) to KJ Paws for well over a year. Shannon is the only groomer I've had. Ruby only weighs 3.5 pounds and doesn't like to hold still so I can imagine how hard it is to trim her when she's squirming all around.
