On our trip back to NY from visiting my daughter in camp yesterday, my younger daughter spotted…read morethis "sweet" little candy shop so we decided to stop in. Opened in December of last year, the beautiful displays of gift baskets, assorted candy and cookies are a such a welcoming and pretty sight as you enter the store. The candy and cookies are not homemade, but you will recognize several of the brand names that they do carry, such as: Jelly Bean, Mrs. Prindables, Corso's Cookies, The Popcorn Factory, Lindt, Ferrero, Godiva, Ghiradelli, Hammond's Candies and several other favorites. There are pre-made baskets filled with goodies to celebrate Birthdays, a New Baby, Religious occasions, Get Well Soon, etc., but they can also custom make any other basket that you ask for. The section my daughter immediately ran to was where an entire wall was filled to the brim with many different types of chocolates and jelly beans you could possibly imagine. There are bags to the side that you fill with these delights which sell for $8.95 a pound. My daughter chose the malted milk balls and minature peanut butter cups. We took 1/2 pound of each. The chocolate is so fresh and delicious, I am very surprised there was any left by the time we got home. This is a great store to visit - definitely stop in if you're in the area and satisfy that sweet tooth! I shall be returning!!

Much like former president Jimmy Carter, I love jelly bellies so much... but actually only about 14 out of the 49 standard flavors. So I hate buying bags of jelly bellies from the store, especially since the company is charging for them like they're gold bars. I went to Macy's the other day and they were selling the 2lb bag for $30! Like maybe we should start setting the U.S. dollar on the jelly belly standard. But I digress. The point is that you can buy jelly bellies here, but only the ones that you want.
