I would never recommend this business due to extreme unprofessionalism, unsanitary conditions, and…read morepotential safety hazards. On a Saturday morning, I arrived to get small knotless boho braids. There were already three women waiting outside before opening time, and as more clients arrived, people started breaking the line with no organization. I left to avoid the chaos and came back at 11:00 a.m., but was told they were not taking any more clients that day. I was told to return Sunday at 8:30 a.m., and I confirmed that time, the style (small knotless boho), the price ($260), and that they could use my deep wave wig as boho pieces. They confirmed everything. Sunday morning, I arrived early at 8:20 a.m. and was the first person out of my car at the door. Other women showed up and got out of their cars after me. When the braiders arrived, they started picking clients based on preference and claimed some had appointments -- ignoring who was actually first. Despite being there first, I waited until 2:30 p.m. to even get in the chair. During the braiding process, nobody washed my hair, sanitized tools, or washed their own hands. One braider repeatedly dropped a metal parting tool on the floor and just picked it up and continued to use it on my hair with no cleaning at all. I also witnessed her putting pieces of my braiding hair in her mouth while braiding, which is extremely unsanitary. While working, the stylist commented on how nice my deep wave wig was and asked me to trade it for human braiding hair valued at $54.99. I agreed, assuming they would give me more than one pack, but it ended up being only one. As she worked, I noticed the parts in the back of my head were significantly bigger than those in the front. I went to the restroom to check for myself, came back, and told them it looked uneven. I was told "they aren't that big," "we don't braid like that," and that if I wanted it fixed, I would have to pay extra. Eventually they agreed to fix it, but never actually took down the uneven rows. In the middle of this, they repeatedly paused braiding to join in group prayers. I respect anyone's right to their faith, but it was frustrating to have the service constantly interrupted and dragged out for hours while paying for a professional service. Beyond the service issues, I saw multiple moldy ceiling tiles, which is a clear health hazard, and every wall outlet in the shop was overloaded with extension cords -- a definite fire risk in a place full of synthetic hair and electrical tools. When it came time to pay, the staff suddenly changed the price from what they quoted. I expected $320 ($260 plus $54 for the hair, with tax included), but they began yelling that it was now $280 for the style plus $50 for the hair, totaling $330. When I challenged it, they argued, refused to process my card, and kept trying to talk me into paying differently. I had to ask eight times before they finally ran my card so I could pay and leave. When I tried to exit the shop, I found the door was locked. I asked for help, and they laughed, spoke in their native language, and left me standing there for about five minutes before unlocking it so I could leave. This experience was unacceptable on every level: unsafe, unprofessional, unsanitary, and disrespectful. I have reported them to both the Alabama Board of Cosmetology and the Alabama Department of Public Health to investigate their practices. I strongly recommend finding a licensed, professional, and clean braiding shop instead. This business should not be allowed to treat clients this way.

I've known Kollo for 15+ years..bobs, pixies, cornrows, micros, kinky twists, Senegalese twists,…read moreand I'm now wearing box braids For anyone who loves wearing braids for protection or versatility, highly recommend this braiding salon. A peaceful, clean atmosphere, where the staff are literally experts in their field. I travel over 1000 miles to get my hair braided as only Kollo's can do. I'm aware of many like me who travel a distance for these ladies to gift them with their creative hands. Thanks to all the staff, you've blessed me with unconditional love and laughter, introduced me to your languages, food, and songs. And compliments of my hair keep coming. So public, schedule your appointment, select your hair or bring your own, be specific in what you want (bring photo if you like), sit back and see you'll love the results.

( the lady in the third chair to your right hand side ) It hasn't been a full week and some braids have came out ( box braids ) to be exact. I didn't notice how much patches of hair was left out in the center of my head until I got home. My edges have been pulled out due to such little hair was added to the heavy braids. I can't style my hair as wanted ( bun or ponytail ) because to many braids have been falling out. I paid over 200 for box braids that's bra length
