I just wanted to write a short note to express my gratitude to the folks at APT Academy. I am a 63…read moreyear old woman. I have been attending their Tactical Handgun 1 class since 2013 and have attended 9 times ... while some people may think that's a waste of time or money, I don't. I go back to the class at least once a year to refresh my skills and knowledge, and to remind myself there is always more to learn. Every time I attend one of their classes, I come away with new information, or a new technique to help me protect myself and my loved ones better. They teach me more than shooting skills, and their personal protection information is invaluable. I now think constantly "what if..." and prepare myself mentally for possible scenarios and what I would do to protect or defend myself in those scenarios. BJ and Kat have a great facility and go out of their way to make me and everyone else feel like family. I feel more like family at APT than I do with my own blood family. BJ and his team are great trainers, and never make me feel badly about my need for extra instruction. They take the time to work one on one with students who need extra attention while also making sure those more advanced students are also able to advance their skills. BJ and Keith are always good for instructing me on the little things I forget, or the things I need reminders on, and help me without making me feel like I'm a failure for forgetting from my previous classes. Both BJ and Keith work to build my skills and confidence while still making sure I am aware I need to continue to work on these skills while not in class. While I have told the folks at APT Academy how much I appreciate them, I want to make sure that others are aware of just how much they are appreciated too. People are usually quick to criticize businesses and people when they do something wrong, but not nearly as quick to compliment them when they do a good job. I want to make sure they know I am grateful for them and their instruction and feel safer in my life because of them. Thanks again APT Academy!! I will see you again very soon!

My Wife and I took the Basic Pistol class at NWA Shooting Academy in January 2021. Jerad…read more(Instructor) did an excellent job! I appreciated how he had a patient and laid-back style of teaching, while still going over structured and well-organized content. The entire class took about 7 hours with three students. There was a good amount of hands on instruction in the classroom prior to going to the range. The range time was great! I had some limited experience shooting handguns prior to the class, so it was nice to have Jerad standing next to me, the entire time, providing coaching on how to handle the gun, trigger finger placement, breathing, etc... All in All, my wife and I both learned a LOT and feel more comfortable owning our firearms. I highly recommend this class to those of you that are new to handguns and want a strong beginner course.

I really learned a lot! Sometimes after being out of 'school' for awhile an 8 hour class can seem a little intimidating but it was well worth every minute of it! And now I know the place to go!! They seriously have so many different classes and I 10/10 recommended taking a class here. It will not disappoint! When I contacted Jon from Nighthawk Custom Training, I had no idea what to expect. I had wanted to…read moretake MAG40 for some time. I had listened to a couple of different podcasts where Jon Hodoway was the guest speaker. Jon seemed to have a good sense of humor. One particular thing stood out to me, when Jon stated his opinion it was drawn from a solid knowledge base. He wasn't afraid if it wasn't popular at the time or the current training trend. He would give a "I do this particular thing and this is why" no dressing applied, I liked that. At the same time Jon (and Mas) would teach you a couple (or more) of different techniques and explain, find the one that works for you, not the "here is one technique and it's the best so use it" mentality. The entire training event was well planned and had accommodations very well in order for us. From the hotel arrangements to the great food around NW Arkansas. Everything went very smooth. One thing I noticed about Jon, he went out of his way to make sure everyone at the class had anything they needed to be comfortable, from ammo to aspirin. The staff at the range made sure everything was conducted in a safe, controlled learning manner. They shot the course before we did not only can they teach it but they can perform it. The Nighthawk factory was interesting and educational. The Nighthawk guns are really an awesome, working piece of artwork. All the people there were like the rest of the good folks from that area. You can see the Nighthawk people are very passionate about their work making the BEST firearm possible. At the class Massad Ayoob delivers a wealth of knowledge. Even at the breaks we would continue to absorb information from him. He has a great sense of humor and makes a wonderful educator. I'm not sure you can put a number to the amount of people he has helped through one media or another. As I believe Jon said, if there is only one training class you could take MAG40 should be it. Another great blessing to Nighthawk Custom Training is the photographer Kim. I never considered how difficult it would be to take pictures while you are trying to learn. Kim does an awesome job with the camera. She seems to have a natural eye for making some wonderful shots better than I could ever hope to take. Kim's work with the lens is a great way to document the training memories. Oh, she also has great eye for cool vehicles too. In conclusion, the entire experience is a wonderful way to spend four or five days with some very good people. They offer training that truly makes you a better shooter. All the best, Jim Maloy
