Seems like a pretty good value so we tried the Dublin Virginia store first. My daughter went in alone she is 18 year old and the employee working the kiosk totally dismissed her to the point where she got frustrated and left the store. The Blacksburg Virginia store being about equal distance I decided that I would try this store and initially the service was good they did say they would have to order the key for the Volkswagen Jetta and it'll be in 7 to 10 days. After 2 weeks I started calling with varying degrees of customer service but all saying it hasn't came in yet will call you. Finally after nearly a month I called and after a while they said that the key had come in I didn't ask what day I was just glad to get some traction on this issue. After the manager started grinding the key he said that they shipped the wrong one and they were not able to help me he did Apologize gave me a refund but offered no solution for this problem. I understand one employee at one store having a bad day so this has been two separate locations 30 miles apart this may just be a systemic problem with Ace hardware or the automotive key replacement program may not be where it needs to be. In an event I will not be patronizing Ace hardware anytime soon."

I understand stores have to have a return policy but we had multiple purchases over the time it took to get these jobs done. With any project you have items that you actually didn't need. When I gathered them up after we were close to finishing and knew we didn't need certain things I took them back. To my surprise after they had told me just bring back anything you don't need they failed to tell me there was a time limit. Yes maybe I should have known that but I didn't. So some of the items they took back anyway since they didn't. Hear this Lowe's I have a 20,000 project coming up and I will never step foot in a Lowe's store again. The items I needed to return aren't things that go out of style it was plumbing items and other items that you sell have sold and will always sale. I will find every mom and pop hardware store I can and get the rest from your competitor. Perhaps you should teach your associates not to talk down to someone who just spent 20,000 dollars with you. I cannot believe Stihl authorizes these people to service their equipment. Maybe Stihl does not…read moreknow how they treat people and their equipment. Well, they will very soon. My mother-in-law took her Stihl blower in to have the primer bulb replaced. That was all it needed. That was all she wanted done. What they did to her blower was criminal. Not only did they not replace the primer bulb as she had ask, they broke the throttle lever off the carburetor when they dis-assembled it. Why they dis-assembled her blower to replace an easily accessible primer bulb is beyond any conceivable explanation or understanding. When she went in to pick up her blower after being told it was ready, she was handed a bag of parts, and a bill for fifty some dollars. They had the nerve to tell her (after they broke the carburetor) it needed a new carburetor, and it was going to cost as much to repair the blower as it would be to purchase a new one. Then they charged her fifty some dollars for their "fine" service. All it needed was a primer bulb! You can see in the attached photo the condition in which they returned her blower. If legible, the broken throttle lever pieces are circled in the photo. Unbelievable!!! Had this happened to me, these people would be in court making reparations for the damage they caused. This is truly criminal taking advantage of a person in this manner. If I heard one day someone burned them out, I just might have to smile.

The two gentlemen that assisted me with my purchase went above and beyond. They knew I was going to install them on my pier 250 miles away so they were very meticulous when rounding up all the parts needed. They were very friendly and courteous I'm a DIY kind of guy so I have a lot of experience with hardware stores but not one of them could hold a candle to the customer service I received at this store.
