    So this was my second time using K&C and it was very different from the first. I booked my move 3 weeks in advance, so scheduling wasn't going to be an issue no matter which mover I used. I had a great first experience with them. Their rates are comparable to other moving companies. On my first move, I actually moved within my exact same building, just a few floors up. They moved everything in my place. On the second move, I moved to a different building but it was literally right up the street just a few blocks. What was different the second time I used K&C? A LOT!! I actually had far fewer things for them to move. I already moved A LOT this time around. Everything was packed and ready to go. I was far more prepared than last time. This time, I was told that there were things they could not move. They said no wall art, pictures, electronics also (TVs) and everything had to be in boxes. How is that even possible?!? My last move, they moved everything for me. It's beyond upsetting to spend $400 on a 3 hour move, only to still have items that you will have to move yourself. During the move, things just seemed to go very slow. There were several points where KJ had to tell the guys to move faster and also they were "disappearing" for fairly long time periods. He tried to call them several times and they did not answer their cell phones. In addition to that, my new building has a special key for the freight elevator for moves. Within the first trip, they lost the key which I was told to "guard with my life". When we finally recovered the key (time lost that they charged me for), I had to follow them the entire time and keep the key myself to work the freight elevator. The first time I used them they moved everything and it was only a two hour move. This time, I had considerably less amount of items for them to move, and it took 3 hours. Also, this time they did not cover my mattress. I left a white sheet covering my mattress. The originally clean sheet was very dirty and covered in hand prints when we got to my new place. I'm grateful that I kept the sheet on my mattress because it would've been ruined. Also, my white leather couch had hand prints all over it, scuffs on the leather on the corners (it had never been moved so the scuffs were not there previously), and rub/dirt marks all over it. I provided my own moving blankets and furniture wrap. They didn't use theirs. As if all that wasn't enough, this time there was an issue with the payment system. The last time I used K&C. I paid by credit card, had a receipt, and everything was documented. I told KJ that I will be paying by credit card when I booked. He had mentioned that his "credit card system was down", but he had 3 weeks before my move. He assured me he would be able to get it fixed by the time of my move. This time? I received an invoice initially when I booked my move but the day of the move, when it came time to pay, I was told that I would have to pay through a cash app system (which I do not have) or they would follow me to the ATM to get cash. I cannot tell you how awkward it is, as a female, to literally be followed to an ATM. In addition to that, I have no receipt!! My apartment complex is paying a portion of my move and I have no receipt from them! I was told, when they followed me to the ATM and I gave them the cash, that I would receive a receipt. I have had to text and email asking for a receipt, and still have not received one. This whole second experience to me was extremely unprofessional and completely different from my first great experience. I'm sad to sad to say I wouldn't recommend them and will not use their services again. *** UPDATE*** within minutes of me posting this review, I finally heard back. However it was not what I was expecting. I expected to finally get a receipt for the $400 cash payment I made. Instead, I was harassed with multiple phone calls and these text messages telling me I would only get my receipt if I changed my review, which is against Yelp TOS.

We did a video call so they can give an estimate, we never received an estimate. The movers came to pack move and unpack. They didn't know they were supposed to be packing/unpacking. I had to call and confirm instead of them. They left my front door wide open and never turned the gate back on so if I hadn't gone back for cleaning supplies my door would've been left open over night. When I told the only guy who spoke English he said "I wasn't the last one out" no apologies just a lazy answer. They never unpacked properly. I started unpacking the kitchen, so they had an idea of where things went. They didn't try, they just unpacked random stuff and threw it in places. Appliances were disassembled which could have easily been put together. My cake stand was in two thrown on the counter top with a box over the glass in an unsafe manner. They said they were scheduled to come back tomorrow and when I called to complain about how the place left they said the job was done and I should've said something before they left. I told them they should leave instead of waiting for me to return after picking up my daughter they told me had to pay. Which understood I'll pay for the day, but the packing job was not done. These are scammers. It's been a long time since I dealt with a business like this but this one beware.

During my recent move, I decided to give them my repeat business. Huge mistake. You get what you pay for. They quoted $110 per hour plus $70 admin fee, minimum 2 hours. That was fine. However, when they showed up, they advised that they charge $15 per roll for shrink wrap. I was in agreement with using the shrink wrap and blankets but they advised they were not sure how many rolls they would use. Then it was changed to 3 rolls. I've used movers in the past and they have always included shrink wrap and blankets in their pricing. However, I've also seen how the shrink wrap is used and 3 rolls is grossly overestimated. I've included a picture of the shrink wrap roll for reference. After signing for them to start the job, a never ending agreement about the number of shrink wrap rolls they would use, and the clock already ticking, I agreed for them to move forward with the additional $45 scam. Instead, they went outside, spoke amongst themselves and someone on the phone and advised that they would not be completing the job and left. I called the primary phone number and spoke with the owner who advised me that I should have accepted the scam pricing from the beginning and then disconnected the phone call. Cancelling a job because you don't want to be called out for overcharging for shrink wrap that should be included in your job is ridiculous. Moving is stressful. To walk out on someone during a time like that is not someone that deserves your business. The bright side is that I had another moving company's card on my door. I contacted them and they were available in the late afternoon. They ended up coming a few hours earlier. The price included the shrink wrap and blankets. They completed a HUGE job in 2.5 hours. I paid more per hour and tipped the 3 movers well. The fact that Astros Moving Company attempted to ruin my day over $45 is ridiculous. They would have made much more than that in tips and repeat business. Edit as of 05/09/25. In response to the owner. I NEVER advised them that I did not have the money to pay the ridiculous $45 for three rolls that were clearly not going to be used. After agreeing to disagree, I actually advised them to move forward. They chose to walk away instead. Not only did I pay more than the $45 with the other moving company, I tipped them generously. In business, some things are about the principle, not the money.
