I don't have a lot of Swiss bakeries to compare against, but Kubler was quite impressive. A beautiful store: bright, gleaming and spotless. Everything was aligned on the shelves and the floors looked like they had been licked clean by elves. They offered an immense selection of fresh baked breads and pastries, and four helpful, smiling staff members were ready behind the counter to help us. A few of them also spoke good English in addition to the usual German and French.
There was a small grocery section to one side, where we could pick up eggs, yogurts, milk, etc. Behind this grocery section you could see the bakery in action, behind a glass window.
While staying with friends in Aesch, we stopped here almost every morning for various items. I was particularly fond of their apple and custard tart, which was mind-blowingly good in the morning with a cup of hot coffee, especially after a nice, long run down by river.
This seemed like the main bakery in town, so I'm a bit amazed to be the first one to review. read more
