I've been receiving tattoo removal treatment from Dr. Rhee for two years now after a botched tattoo. It has been a process, but I've learned how to handle healing the best way for me, and we are almost done with it now. He offered me a flat rate, so I don't have to pay for each visit I go to. The flat rate was the best option as I know I would have paid more by paying for each and every session. His staff is reasonable and professional, and Dr. Rhee himself does his best to remember his patients and help in the process of it all. I want my reviews to be seen because of the misconception that tattoo removal is a quick process. It does take dedication to the clinic and yourself to get the full process completed. I have now completed 11 sessions over 2 years, and hopefully I can be finished with just a few more sessions. Each session has a different outcome based off what setting he does. So sometimes I've had the next day with lots of large and ugly blisters, but having some aquafoar, gauze pads, and an ace bandage did wonders for healing. I've also had several sessions in which I had hardly any blisters and was a breeze for healing until the next appointment. His clinic is 100% worth the 45 minute drive. So I've been going here now for about 3 years to have 2 tattoos removed it takes a while because my tattoos were big and dark but now they are finally almost done. I would say I have had an amazing experience here overall staff is always friendly so is the dr and I have showed up late sometimes but they've never turned me away or canceled my apt. I would 100% recommend this place but keep in mind if you're removing a tattoo everyone's timeframe is different. But my removal looks so good and I have no scaring or anything! DO YOUR RESEARCH!! My wife went to Dr Rhee about 3-4 years for what was initially just skin tightening. Dr convinced her that she needed liposuction and that he would tighten her skin during the procedure as well. We ended up paying a little over $7k for him to leave her with HORRIBLE results. She is extremely self conscious about her abdomen. He left creases and bumps everywhere that he claimed he would fix with a machine and tried to give her a touch up AT AN EXTRA COST. This guy does not know what he is doing and I wish we would have done our research. Only good reviews this man has is for tattoo removal. He is money hungry he chased her down when she left the office call after call one call after 7pm asking her to pay over the phone. I was looking for a weight loss clinic closer to home, one where I wouldn't have to wait so long to be seen, so I called Dr. Rhee's office and his receptionist transferred him to me right away, after I inquired about their weight loss options. I asked if they offered Phentermine at the clinic and he said, yes, are you able to come down now? I was ecstatic to be seen so quickly and made it down 20 minutes later. After my consultation with him he told me it would be $500 to start the weight loss program. $200 for an EKG, $200 for a body scan and $100 to start the weight loss program. I was blown away. I explained that the cost was too high for me, that I was really looking to continue my current weight loss treatment but couldn't afford $500. He said, well we can just do $300, that would cover the EKG and starting the program and you can do the scan another time. So, I justified the cost of the EKG being just a one-time thing and agreed to move forward paying the $300. After the EKG, Dr. Rhee says I'm in great health and he's going to put me on a medicine called Topomax. I was shocked, what the heck is this I thought, we talked about Phentermine. I asked why Topomax, he said it works well and most of his patients are on it then started to leave the room. I was speechless, I had to stop him and say what does it do?? He said it makes food taste bad and said, I'll see you in a week for a follow up to see if it's working for you and walked out the door. I guess I was confused or shocked that he didn't prescribe me what I went there for, what he TOLD me he would give me and the whole purpose of my visit. I left the room and the receptionist said to be back in a week for a follow-up. The next day, I called and the Dr. answered. I said I came to your clinic for a specific weight loss medication and left with what I now know is SEIZURE MEDICINE. I told him I don't feel comfortable taking this. This is not what the medicine is intended for, and I don't want to deal with the possible side effects. I said, is it possible to get a refund for the weight loss fee, and he said a refund for what??? He said, I prescribe what I see fit, not what the patient wants. I'm the professional and you paid for my time and expertise. I was furious, but I thought let me try to make lemonade out of lemons and try this seizure medicine and see if it works. Well, it didn't. At least not the milligrams he prescribed, so I went to my follow up appointment 7 days later. The MA comes into the room and says, I see we're doing the full body scan on you today (the $200 scan) I said no, I didn't schedule that, I'm here for a medication follow-up only. She left the room and came back and said, that will be $100. I was floored, for what, I said??? You guys scheduled a follow-up with ME to see how the medicine is working. Why would I be charged $100 for that. She said, that's the charge to see the Dr. again. I was shaking I was so upset and got up and walked right out of the office. In summary....I couldn't recommend a place any LESS than this facility. This is an absolute money trap, a scam, a total bait and switch. Now I'm out $300 and have absolutely nothing to show for it. So this is long overdue. I went to this clinic in 2011 (ish) as a male with excessive breast tissue. After 1 brief consultation I had my next appointment for liposuction. I was 18 and very naive as this was something I was incredibly insecure about. The day of the procedure I was given pain killers and injected with local anesthetic. The liposuction was incredible painful, and I was awake the entire time watching it be done. I watched and felt everything as it was done. I was sent home packed with women's period pads, no drains, and chunks of fat still leaking from the 4 holes in my chest. I never had a follow up. After several months of looking into Drs to do my surgery I decided on Dr Rhee. All the reviews said he was so nice and from the pictures the surgeries he's done seem to have results. Big mistake (for me) I went to my initial visit and all though a few the MA's are nice they're not all like that. So we go into the back room and she asks me what services I was interested in. She didn't really explain the whole process to me very well. I left the office with more questions or questions that weren't answered. I read online when doing research for this that when you talk to your Dr about the surgery you should leave the office with absolutely no questions everything should have been covered. Which it wasn't. She explained I'll go in before the surgery (didn't give a time frame) get the medication that I will using for the surgery and in the day if I will take the meds go in for the surgery. That's pretty much it. No one explained the process of the surgery itself. Oh before all this the Dr did come in and look at the areas I wanted done. He said he can do my upper stomach my lower stomach and we discussed another area (which I ended up changing and getting my hips done instead) we also discussed the price. After he left that's when the MA came in and talked to me about the process. I was also interested in the Weightloss program he has I heard nothing but good things so I asked about that. He gave me the price but said since I was getting the surgery the Weightloss was included (sweet right?) the Weightloss was a total of about $400/500 (I think) he said first I would use this machine that costs about $200 and it measures my muscle tone and will tell him how much muscle or fat needs to be lost ( I think that's what he meant again it wasn't explained throughly) then he said he will prescribe medication and ect the normal stuff monitor weight loss ect. Well after the surgery the medication he gave me was the exact same medication I get for $25 from another Weightloss Dr. I told him it wasn't helping with my eating so he gave me another prescription (which was about $130) a few weeks later I told him I didn't feel like it was working so he gave me another prescription (which again was another $120) and again my weight hadn't gone down so he gives me another prescription. This time it was the same medication he gave me to first (which tells me he didn't even look at my records to see what I was on) so I told him it's the same as previous and I never got another call back. He never even had me utilize all the benefits of the Weightloss program he mentioned previously. He just started pretty much in the middle of process. Later I started to have really really bad pain in my stomach for a few days. I was in tears a few times at work because the pain hurt so bad so I called the Dr to see if I can get in to see him and find out what's going on. His receptionist called me back and said Dr Rhee said to take some Tylenol. Uh hello!! You think I didn't already try that. That was maybe 3 months ago and I have not heard anything from them again. And to make things worse as if they can get worse, my lower stomach and my hips that I had done were so bruised and sore I couldn't even literally go to the bathroom because it so much to sit (which is fine and understandable) but my upper stomach had not one bruise on it nor was sore not one single bit. I've seen a change (small change) in my lower stomach and my hips have both gone down BUT my upper stomach is exactly the same. I have to be honest and say I DONT THINK HE EVEN DID MY UPPER STOMACH AT ALL. He's only taken 1 picture and 1 picture after (shouldn't you follow the progress more than 1 office visit after surgery) I noticed this Dr specializes in Internal Medicine, Weight loss and a few other things which he has his licenses displayed ect but as for the cosmetic surgery I WOULD GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. He has those degrees in the back (which is weird to me) and he says he does these surgeries one a day but he doesn't have anything advertising that he even does cosmetic surgery in the lobby. I just found my whole experience very strange and a waste of my $7000. After my initial consultation with Dr. Rhee, I knew I wanted him to do the liposuction procedure for me. First, his staff was welcoming and pleasant and then most importantly, when I met Dr. Rhee, he has a very pleasant and professional demeanor. He was thorough in his examination and and gave me a sense that he was notable only concerned about my physical appearance but overall health. Dr. Rhee was warmly reassuring that the liposuction would yield positive results. I had gone to at least 3 (three) other consultations which told me I MUST have a tummy tuck to rid the "Fupa", that area that bulges below the abdominal area! Dr. Rhee did my liposuction on Monday, my entire abdomen, love handles and lateral low back. He and his staff were extremely personable, supportive and attentive to my reactions during the procedure! Great Doctor! Fantastic Staff! I went to Dr. Rhee to help me remove the excess fat on my inner thighs and knees. I hated it and no matter how much I exercised I could not remove it. I was nervous and Dr. Rhee quickly put me at ease. He listened to my concerns, explained the procedures, and answered all my questions (I had a TON). I selected Dr. Rhee because he not only does lipo but he is also an internal medicine doctor so I felt safe. On my day of surgery I weighed in at 137 and within a couple of weeks I was 124. I was absolutely flabbergasted at how quickly I healed and how the body I KNEW was in there was finally emerging! While I was healing Dr. Rhee followed my progress closely for 6 months. I was a patient of Dr. Rhee's for several years. As long as I was healthy, I had no complaints, but when I tore my hamstring he did not even recognize the characteristic bruising behind my thigh. I developed a blood clot from being bedridden and it took his office over a month to get me refer me for a sonogram. If you never get sick, he's great for routine tests, but if you ever develop a problem, you'll be sorry you chose him. He has changed his practice into a liposuction office and from what I have heard he's not very good at that either. read more
