I scheduled an appointment with Marquis (Sales) to see a 2017 Chevrolet Camaro 2SS Coupe, advertised online for $26,000 with 75,482 miles. However, when I arrived for my appointment, Marquis was not at work. I had made the trip specifically to see this car, and nobody seemed prepared to help me properly.
The biggest issue was the pricing. The vehicle was advertised for $26,000, but the written worksheet I received listed the cash price as $29,955 -- a difference of $3,955 before additional fees and taxes.
The worksheet also listed an $800 documentary fee, a $70 lien fee, a $1,276.33 sales tax, and additional title, registration, and temporary tag charges. It also included a $1,200 GAP contract and a $2,995 warranty. The total amount financed was listed as $31,415.08, despite a $5,000 down payment.
These numbers raised serious concerns for me. The advertised price and the price presented to me were significantly different, and I was not satisfied with the way the pricing and additional charges were handled.
On top of the pricing issues, the customer service was extremely poor. The employees did not show the level of attention or professionalism I expected. Nobody seemed genuinely interested in helping me resolve the situation.
My advice: Before visiting AM-KO Auto, get the complete out-the-door price in writing and ask for an itemized breakdown of every fee, warranty, and add-on. Confirm that your salesperson will actually be there for your appointment.
I went there expecting an honest, professional car-buying experience. Instead, I wasted my time and left extremely disappointed. Based on my personal experience, I would not recommend this dealership to other buyers.
