For me it was a real head scratcher. Rick and Tony came out the next day and arrived ontime at 830 am. Within an hour they diagnosed and fixed the problem which was faulty wiring of the GFI. I told them they did not have to but they insisted on repeatedly putting on booties when coming into the house. They have a $200 fee for coming out that covers repairs if they do not need to install expensive equipment. I think that is very reasonable in today's world. Rick, who lead the team, strikes me as being honest as the day is long. It is so good to find intelligent, honest, and competitant craftsmen to fix stuff when it needs. Jim's Electric is now my go-to place for electrical repair, inspection and installation.

The actual electrical work looks clean and professional. The new wiring follows our existing electric wiring, so it looks like it was all installed at the same time! Would definitely recommend and will use again if ever needed.

Jeff came by looked over the house, gave me some advice told me what they need to do and was scheduled only 1 month later and that was with working around my schedule. Kitchen was added to house by the owner in the 60s so nobody knew what to expect behind the plaster and drywall. Jeff had great instincts for his craft and upon completion of the job I knew him and the guy he worked with really knew what they were doing. I told them I would get any tile and plaster work taken care of when they were done and to remove or make holes in walls, ceiling and floor wherever they needed too. I expected the kitchen to be pretty torn up. They didn't leave me a lot of work to do. Excellent job! Price was good, the workmanship was amazing. I hate it when I'm scheduling projects through Yelp for bids and a business has the "Request a…read moreQuote" option enabled but instead uses the platform to send messages to call! Instead of a quote or price range via Yelp, Thomas Edison Electric charged a $125 dispatch fee to come out and give a quote. Yes, it was disclosed before coming out; but after speaking with them over the phone, we had no idea their estimate would be nearly (3) three times more than what the common estimate was compared to (4) four other bids! Needless to say, we moved on to another company. I would not recommend scheduling for a quote, they are significantly overpriced, and in my opinion, it's not worth the risk of wasting time and paying $125 for no work performed.

For these jobs, they came as a team of 6-8 people and usually got the job done within one day. Their solutions are not only of excellent quality, they also make it look good. Whatever work they have completed in our house has never given us any issues afterwards. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
