I came in for an…read moreevaluation for a root canal and was visibly nervous -- shaking, anxious, and walking with a cane. I clearly expressed my anxiety and asked about sedation or gas because I believed a root canal was oral surgery. Her response was dismissive: she said it's "only given to patients with anxiety," while I was near tears and nauseous from anxiety. When I stated I was feeling anxiety and would pay for the sedation, she said they weren't equipped and didn't have it. During the numbing process, she was hurting me and repeatedly misrepresented what I was saying. I was trying to explain that the area was not numb enough to proceed because I could still feel sensation when my tongue touched the area -- not that my tongue itself wasn't numb. Instead of listening, she snapped at me and said, "You're so sensitive!" Yes -- I was anxious, in pain, and scared. That's the point. She also repeatedly made me stand to rinse and spit, which might be fine for most patients, but I was walking with a cane. Bending over a small sink was difficult and slow, yet she showed zero patience. At one point, while I was rinsing, she looked at me with visible disgust and said in a malicious, condescending tone, "You can use the napkins, you know -- they're right there." I was humiliated. She lectured me for being "uninformed," and when I tried to explain my misunderstanding, she became even more hostile. She kept starting and stopping the procedure, repeatedly asking in a threatening tone, "Do you want me to do this or not?" By then, my anxiety had been completely escalated by her, and I no longer trusted her to work on me. I left with a partially numb mouth. I immediately found another endodontist who was kind, professional, and was also a lot more thorough. I also contacted the dentist who referred me to her. I made it clear that she threw him under the bus regarding the filling that caused the nerve inflammation, and that her behavior was rude, unkind, and condescending. I also told her directly that part of her job is to guide and calm patients -- not belittle, intimidate, and escalate fear. This woman should not be working with patients. She is cold, abrasive, and completely lacking compassion. I genuinely don't know how the other two lovely women in the office tolerate her miserable demeanor. Avoid at all costs.

Just had THE BEST consult with Dr. Park who saw me today for an emergency visit for pain coming…read morefrom a tooth with a root canal that was done by another doctor 5 months ago who couldn't see me b/c he was on vacation. I'm 4 months pregnant and had done extensive dental work in preparation for this pregnancy - an extra cleaning; a scaling; two teeth pulled for a cracked tooth and a failing root canal that couldn't support dental surgery; implant posts drilled; and a root canal (decided to wait to crown the implants post baby) - most done with gas and plenty of novocaine due to a dental phobia that started after a dentist damaged my trigeminal nerve during a botched novocaine injection. So I was extremely disappointed and stressed about a possible infection that would require painful remediation/antibiotics/pulling/who knows what/etc. and that may also be potentially affecting the baby negatively (I've spent my share of time on Pub Med meditating over all the research on how insidious and damaging dental infections are to a developing fetus). But after all that prep, last week, the root canal molar that was done just 5 months ago started to hurt and Dr. Park was able to diagnose the problem (the crown wasn't fit properly which lead to bacteria being able to get into the gumline and cause a gum infection - see X-ray I attached if you are into teeth!), propose a solution (go to a referred dentist - Dr.Jeff Suh, who also has stellar reviews, also in Scarsdale) for a new temporary crown which will then be replaced by Dr. Park during a full root canal restoration following the baby's birth so as to avoid the extra x-rays and stress of doing the full restoration now while still pregnant (plus, I would need gas due to my dental anxiety for the long full restoration procedure and I certainly can't do that whilst pregnant). I just found Dr. Park to be the most thorough, comprehensive dentists I've ever been to - he took time to go over every nuance of the issue, walking me through the anatomy, the issues with the crown, all my options, etc. - all while on an already fully booked busy schedule. I was so grateful. His demeanor has earned my trust and respect and I'm so pleased that I've found a new endodontist! The office is new and each exam room has the latest equipment and is bright, clean, and sunny. The receptionists are super upbeat and friendly, and the dental assistants are also cheerful and very efficient, as well. Don't hesitate to book a visit!!

(I think it was the manager that I spoke to...) when I called to make an appointment I explained what happened at the other dentist's office and she was completely receptive and understanding. She booked me right away and even went out of her way to locate my insurance info. Very thankful for that! The dentist I met with was very kind and wanted to ensure I had appropriAte coverage for the work I need. During my treatment…read moreappointment on May 19, an additional third crown was recommended while I was already in the dental chair preparing for the procedure. I ultimately agreed, but I wish this discussion had taken place during the consultation so I could have considered the treatment and financial implications beforehand. The most concerning part of my experience occurred during my crown placement appointment on June 9. When I respectfully shared this feedback and mentioned that I had already discussed a payment plan for the additional crown with the office manager, Dr. Loeb abruptly left the room and stated that she would not cement my crowns unless payment was made in full. As a patient in the middle of treatment, with three prepared teeth awaiting final restoration, I felt scared, vulnerable, and distressed. I understand that dental practices have payment policies, but I did not expect my concerns to be met in this manner, especially after I had already been working with the office on a payment arrangement. I appreciate Dr. Roman, the office manager, and the practice owner for stepping in, resolving the situation, and allowing my treatment to be completed. However, I believe patients deserve clear communication, professionalism, and respect, especially when they are in such a vulnerable position.

I have no reservation in recommending the Doctor. I have full faith. Too bad she cannot be my regular dentist.

I was filled with anxiety about the oral surgery I knew I had to have on March 27, but I had been in pain for more than a month. In a previous consultation Dr. Diamond explained to me what she would do to save my tooth by going in above the root canal and getting rid of the bacteria causing the infection. As she worked, she kept me apprised of what she was doing so I knew what to expect. She and her assistant gave me explicit written instructions for what to do prior and after the surgery. I followed these directions and have suffered minimal pain and swelling. I recommend her and her staff highly for their expertise and putting me at ease. The office's endodontists use laser and 3-D x-rays for root canals. These new technologies are of tremendous benefit to patients and an absolute must-criterion when choosing an endodontist: my molar root canal needed only a single session. My root canal was totally painless during (and after) the procedure. I felt utmost comfort, a blissful relaxation, relief, and happiness--as if being pampered in a spa (I may even have dozed off at one point). So I rate Dr. Kolnick and his office above the 5-star maximum in every respect: definitely "out-of-category." They are worth a trip from anywhere, in my opinion.

Gaslighted me that the earlier quote didn't exist, and also that it expired, and that I must have had other insured work done, and that I should have signed the quote, and a variety of other reasons their last-second 50% price hike was my fault. They have performed a root canal on either the tooth Dr. Chiao treated, or an adjacent one, I'm not sure which. Recently, he complained of pain in the area and a dentist at the provider told us that he needed a root canal on a tooth they would have a problem getting to and recommended Dr. Chiao for him. I made an appointment and we went to see her, for what was supposed to be just a preliminary visit, yesterday. As soon as the doctor looked at his X-ray, she discovered that my son had a major abscess that needed immediate attention. Instead of an initial visit followed by a series of treatments, she got immediately to work on him. During the process, she vacillated between the possibility of requiring three visits or powering through the work she was doing and keeping it to two. Ultimately, she completed what she started yesterday and we will only have to make one more visit. So, he was in the chair for nearly 90 minutes for what was occasionally very painful work. I remained in the room with them for the duration of the treatment. Obviously, I can't say from personal experience, but from close observation I can say that that Dr. Chiao was as gentle as she could be and did everything possible to help my son through the procedure. She completed the work she started, obviating the need for an additional visit, which we really appreciated. A day later and my son is pain free. Can't ask for more than that. From watching her work and interact with her assistant and my son and seeing the interim results, I have concluded that she is a terrific dentist. No one wants to have endodontic treatment, but if you need it, she would be an excellent choice and I am happy to recommend her.

When I came in for my consult she presented a pre-treatment estimate for me to sign (and pre-pay the patient responsibility). She *explicitly and pro-actively* noted the highlighted clause (which stated the patient responsibility was only an estimate and I may be responsible for additional costs depending what insurance paid). Dr Chiao said to "disregard it" and, I quote, "don't worry about this, even if your insurance doesn't cover it all I will honor this price for you." If memory serves she said it twice in fact, and I remember noting how odd it was for her to make this promise. Flash forward to the procedure (went as planned, nothing unexpected) and I receive a bill a few weeks later for again as much as I'd paid out of pocket (double the patient responsibility). When I raised this with her billing department, they pointed to the clause I signed and said I was legally on the hook for the balance. My question is WHY!? Why go out of her way to commit to one thing only to turn around and do the opposite. So shady. Will not return.
